NFL’s 2025 international games announced, but did the Bills make the cut?

The Buffalo Bills won’t play an international game in 2025.

The NFL announced their full international slate of games for the 2025 on Tuesday morning ahead of the larger schedule release on Wednesday. The Buffalo Bills had four potential options to play as the away team in an international game, but did not make the cut.

In Week 1, the Los Angeles Chargers will host a team TBD in Brazil. The Bills aren’t on LA’s schedule, so we know it won’t be Buffalo.

On Sunday, September 29th, the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Minnesota Vikings in the first game in Dublin, Ireland. The Bills play at Pittsburgh but it clearly won’t be that weekend.

The Vikings stay in Europe and head to London the following week for a game against the Cleveland Browns October 5th. Like Pittsburgh, the Bills play at Cleveland but we can eliminate that weekend.

The following Sunday the New York Jets host the Denver Broncos on October 12th. The Bills won’t play the Jets that weekend and won’t head to London to play their divisional foes.

The Los Angeles Rams square off against the Jacksonville Jaguars the following week in London on October 19th.

After a late October break, the NFL returns to Europe on November 9th in Berlin, Germany, where the Atlanta Falcons play the Indianapolis Colts.

The final game where Buffalo could have been the opponent in November 16th, when the Miami Dolphins host the Washington Commanders in Madrid, Spain.

The last time the Bills played overseas, they sleep-walked their way to a loss against the Jaguars and lost Matt Milano for the rest of the season on a broken leg. Add in the 9:30 a.m. Eastern start time for those games, and I think most Bills fans are happy the Bills’ name didn’t get called.

Check out when and where the Bills will be playing during the 2025 NFL regular season

The Buffalo Bills’ 2025 NFL schedule has finally been released, and we have all the details about the when and where of the each of the team’s 17 regular-season games will take place. It’s the Bills’ final season at what began life as Rich Stadium in 1973 — better-known today as Highmark Stadium. Bills Mafia will have plenty of opportunity early in the regular season to see quarterback Josh Allen and company send the 52-year-old stadium off in style.

This season, the Bills are scheduled to play five standalone, primetime games. Buffalo will play a pair each under the Prime Video lights of Thursday Night Football (TNF) as well Sunday Night Football on NBC, with one appearance as part of this season’s Monday Night Football slate on ESPN.

Of note is the fact that Buffalo cannot be flexed into an additional TNF matchup during the 2025 season since they are already scheduled to play two Thursday games. Their lone appearance on MNF once again finds the team sharing the airwaves with another game as part of a MNF double-header (of which there are three such weeks in 2025). As of publishing, we don’t know what time Buffalo will take the field — it could be the early 7 p.m. EDT matchup on ESPN, as the Chicago Bears vs. Washington Commanders game is an ABC-exclusive event.

The Bills are also scheduled to make four “America’s Game of the Week” appearances in the 4:25 p.m. EST window this coming season. Buffalo’s opponents in those games are a pair of AFC North rivals in the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals, plus games against both teams from Super Bowl LIX in the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.

Adding all those matchups mentioned above and the Bills have eight scheduled nationally televised games in 2025. For those planning ahead, Buffalo’s bye week will come five weeks earlier in 2025 compared to last season. Take a peek below to see more details about Buffalo’s upcoming schedule.

What games are you looking forward to most this season — and which will you be attending? Does anything about this year’s schedule surprise you?
