When Jimmy Butler was traded to the Golden State Warriors in February, a lot of people wondered what the future would look like.

Would Butler’s joy of basketball return, and could he truly contribute to the team, or would they remain lacking?

It’s very clear that Butler is just what the Warriors needed.

According to NBACentral, they are now 20-2 when Butler and Steph Curry are in the lineup together.

This team looks radically transformed for the better and fans are eager to see what’s next.

The Warriors have been steadily climbing higher and higher in the standings and are now the fifth seed in the West.

If the playoffs started today, they would take on the Denver Nuggets.

It just so happens that they beat the Nuggets on Friday night, another notch in their belt and a sign of their resurgence.

This recent string of wins isn’t just because of Butler, of course, but he has added a key ingredient to the team.

He has always been a supremely smart player and has brought his intelligence to the court with Golden State.

He can read the floor well and is able to work expertly with his new teammates.

Other players, especially Curry, have made this impressive run possible, and they are showing no signs of slowing down.

The best part about this for Warriors fans is that Golden State is a talented and proven postseason team.

They are comfortable in the playoffs and know how to traverse them.

That means they could get even better when the first round kicks off in a few weeks.

Butler has brought something special to this team, but the entire squad is working better than it has in a very long time.

Stephen A. Smith Makes A Big Statement About Steve Kerr

Golden State Warriors v New Orleans Pelicans

The Golden State Warriors have been one of the most dominant teams of this generation and will go down in history as one of the strongest squads ever.

And while Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and other players need credit, so does head coach Steve Kerr.

Speaking on “First Take,” Stephen A. Smith called Kerr “one of the greatest coaches in the history of basketball.”

Kerr has been a consistent and reliable part of the team’s culture and chemistry and has taken them to new heights multiple times.

— First Take (@FirstTake) April 4, 2025

When Kerr came to the Warriors, they were a promising team, but nothing close to what they are now.

Through his leadership and strategy, they climbed to the top of the standings and won four championships.

There have been times when people have counted the Warriors out and thought they were past their prime.

But Kerr and his team have proven them wrong.

Their last championship came after a lot of people thought the Warriors would never win again because they were too old and the West was too crowded.

And this season is another example of them defying expectations.

The team was looking rough for some time, but they have been performing much better lately.

They have been surging and are the fifth seed in the Western Conference right now, meaning they will most certainly be part of the playoffs.

Can Kerr surprise everyone yet again and help his team claim another title?

No matter what happens, he has cemented himself in league history and will be respected for generations.

He already had a great career as a player, and now Kerr has proven he is one of the best to ever lead a team.

Steve Kerr Names The Best Center He’s Ever Seen

Golden State Warriors v Los Angeles Lakers

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, beating them 118-104.

This was a chance for NBA fans to witness two of the biggest stars on earth battle it out.

Following the game, head coach Steve Kerr was incredibly supportive of Nikola Jokic, who he said is a talent unlike any other.

“He’s the best center I’ve ever seen. I played against Kareem…Kareem couldn’t do all this stuff,” Kerr said, per Legion Hoops.

On Friday, Jokic posted 33 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists against the Warriors.

His team may not have won, but he put on another masterclass and showed he is the definition of versatility.

Kerr said that no one, not even Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, could do what Jokic does nightly.

He is likely referring to the fact that Jokic is a threat for so many reasons.

He is not just a powerful presence in the paint, he can also be a problem from the perimeter.

Additionally, one of the things that sets him apart from other centers in the league is his ability to pass.

His assist game is second-to-none, and some people consider him the best passer since Magic Johnson.

He creates dazzling passes and also produces his own fantastic buckets night after night.

Jokic has a season average of 29.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.2 assists, which is even more evidence of what a special player he is.

Kerr has witnessed and played with some of the greatest NBA stars of all time.

Therefore, when he makes this statement about Jokic, it should be taken seriously because he knows what he is talking about.

Ime Udoka Gets Honest About His Exchange With Steph Curry

Utah Jazz v Houston Rockets

Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka has made it clear that he isn’t afraid of anyone in the NBA, including the biggest stars.

On Sunday, Udoka and Golden State Warriors icon Steph Curry had a verbal back-and-forth that was caught on camera.

Following the game, Udoka spoke with the press and touched upon the exchange.

“When people start complaining about foul calls or crying about physicality, you’ve done your job. That’s the first step in winning the battle. So I told my team, when this team starts crying about it, up the intensity, up the aggressiveness, and make the refs adjust to you,” he said, per NBACentral.

We won’t ever know what was said between these two, but it sounds like Curry wasn’t happy with foul calls and the physicality of the game.

But Udoka loved what he saw from his team.

He has instructed the Rockets to be intense and aggressive all season long.

Like Udoka, the team loves to get into the heads of their opponents and get under their skin.

They’re also not afraid of roughing someone up and becoming physical.

This doesn’t just throw opponents off their game, it also sets the tempo the way that Houston wants it.

So it’s all part of Udoka’s grand plan, and that plan has been working marvelously.

The Rockets are the second seed in the Western Conference, holding a 52-27 record and ready for the playoffs to begin.

No one knows what the postseason will look but the Rockets are sure to bring their brand of intense and in-your-face basketball and that could be just what they need to go far.

Steve Kerr Has Honest Admission About Draymond Green’s Legacy With Warriors

Golden State Warriors v Los Angeles Lakers

The Golden State Warriors couldn’t get out of their own way on Sunday and were taken down by the Houston Rockets, earning their 32nd loss of the season.

Even though the team didn’t play the way they wanted to, head coach Steve Kerr was happy with the output he saw from his players.

Following the game, he gave special attention to Draymond Green, the team’s defensive juggernaut.

Kerr talked about Green’s passion and what it has brought to the Warriors.

“I love Draymond’s fire. There’s a reason we have four banners up there. We wouldn’t have any without Draymond… He was fighting out there. It just didn’t go our way,” Kerr said, via 95.7 The Game.

— 95.7 The Game (@957thegame) April 7, 2025

The “fire” that Kerr talked about has been Green’s biggest weapon, and his biggest liability too.

There is no doubt that he is one of the most passionate and driven players in the NBA.

This helps in multiple ways, as it allows him to be fierce on the floor and especially with his defense, and it also lets him lead his team and root for them.

He is a major part of the Warriors’ culture and chemistry, and several stars have said he’s the glue that holds the team together.

With that being said, this fire in Green has also led to him acting out on the court and facing numerous suspensions.

The fire is great, as long as Green can get a good hold on it.

This year he has and he has been playing terrific basketball and is a frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year.

Win or lose, the Warriors can count on him to pour 100 percent of himself into the game.

Betting Odds Show Dramatic Shift For NBA’s Defensive Player Of The Year Award

When the 2024-25 NBA season began, most people thought Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs would win Defensive Player of the Year.

He was definitely on track to claim that prize until he was pulled from the court due to a medical issue, leaving the path to DPOY wide open.

The race for the trophy continues but there is now a clear frontrunner to win it: Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors.

According to BetUS, per Legion Hoops, Green’s rise to become the favorite for DPOY is astonishing.

At the start of the season, he had +6000 odds, and they were +12500 in January.

When Wembanyama got hurt, his odds changed to +3500, then +5000.

On March 23, they were -110 and now they are -450.

— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) April 7, 2025

At this point, it looks like the prize is Green’s to win.

He has steadily climbed in the betting markets and has remained consistent on the court.

His case has been helped by the fact that the Warriors have gotten better over the last few months, which has gained them more attention.

People have been watching the Warriors closely, and they have seen that Green is still one of the most intense and intimidating defensive players in the league.

For the season, he is averaging 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.

Green won Defensive Player of the Year in 2016-17 and has been vocal about his desire to claim it again.

Unless something wild and unexpected happens, it looks like he will get his wish in a few weeks.

The loss of Wembanyama definitely hurt the NBA, but it has really helped Green’s chances of earning another DPOY trophy and reasserting his dominance.

Brandin Podziemski is one of the most exciting young stars in the NBA, and Golden State Warriors fans have fallen in love with his skills and style of play.

And many of them would be elated to wear his signature sneakers.

Luckily, they will be able to soon because Podziemski debuted his new shoe line that will be hitting shelves shortly.

The shoes, shared by Nice Kicks, via NBACentral, are bright, eye-catching, and sure to be popular.

The Rigorer BP1 will come in two different color schemes.

One of them is bright pink, and the other is modeled after the traditional colors of the Warriors.

Rigorer said the shoes are made with breathable mesh and a construction that supports the foot and allows stability and a lot of movement.

Will customers be able to move like Podziemski on the court?

That remains to be seen, but they’ll certainly attract attention with these one-of-a-kind sneakers.

Podziemski is one of the stars that Rigorer has signed as they attempt to attract more customers and become a bigger name in the shoe market.

As for Podziemski, he is also trying to make a bigger name for himself lately.

Now in his second year in the league, he is averaging 11.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on 44.3 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from the three-point line.

After a very strong rookie season, Podziemski is now a more permanent part of the team’s lineup and has started in 29 of his 60 games.

With the Warriors poised to return to the playoffs in a few weeks, Podziemski will be able to show off his talent – and his bright shoes – to an even larger audience.

Stats Show How Steph Curry Has Dominated Since All-Star Break

PHOENIX, ARIZONA - APRIL 08: Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors puts up a three-point shot against the Phoenix Suns during the second half of the NBA game at PHX Arena on April 08, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by downloading and or using this photograph, User is consenting to the terms and conditions of the Getty Images License Agreement.

During the first half of this NBA season, the Golden State Warriors looked to be in gradual decay, and Stephen Curry looked like perhaps he was finally on the downside of his career.

But the Warriors then made one of the biggest trades of the season by acquiring six-time All-Star forward Jimmy Butler in early February, and since then, they have been hot.

They have won 22 of their last 28 games, and they entered Wednesday in sixth place in the Western Conference with a chance to finish the regular season higher than that.

Butler’s arrival seems to have reinvigorated Curry, and as StatMamba pointed out, he’s averaging 26.7 points a game with a 66.0% true shooting percentage since the All-Star break.

He has thus been the most efficient player in the league who has averaged at least 25 points a game during that time.

Steph Curry is still the most efficient 25-PPG scorer in the entire NBA since All-Star break.

— StatMamba (@StatMamba) April 9, 2025

Prior to Butler’s arrival, it looked like Golden State’s days of being competitive, let alone being a championship contender, were long gone.

They badly needed offensive firepower and a legitimate second star next to Curry, whose scoring and shooting efficiency were well below his season averages before the Butler trade.

Now, about two months after Butler came to the Bay, Golden State is being talked about as a legitimate championship contender.

For all the talk about Curry’s great play and what Butler has given them, their defense has been outstanding since the All-Star break — in fact, they have ranked second in defensive efficiency since that time.

Perhaps happy days have returned for the Warriors and their proud fans.

Steve Kerr Reacts To Michael Malone’s Firing

Los Angeles Lakers v Golden State Warriors

A lot of people thought Michael Malone would be fired as head coach of the Denver Nuggets soon, but few thought he’d be relieved of his duties this week.

The NBA world is still talking about that firing, and Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr shared his thoughts.

He believes that NBA coaches have become “expendable” because so many teams are owned by billionaires who don’t worry about spending a ton of cash to find replacements.

The ownership issue in the NBA brings both good and bad, but it creates a very unpredictable environment.

“We’re all making bigger salaries than we were five years ago, but we’re all much more vulnerable because I don’t think a lot of the owners are that concerned with firing a guy and paying him off to go away. Again, this is a business that we chose and we all love it, but it’s not the most stable profession, that’s for sure,” Kerr said, per Duane Rankin.

So we're all more expendable. There's so much money in the business now. There are… pic.twitter.com/KAu5L7NVtx

— Duane Rankin (@DuaneRankin) April 9, 2025

Anyone who wants stability in their career should definitely not pursue a job as an NBA coach.

Many fans had problems with the way the Nuggets were being run, and some didn’t like Malone’s aggressive and stubborn attitude.

But they didn’t think he’d be let go just days before the playoffs.

The fact that he was shows just how serious the team’s ownership is about changing directions.

Malone will be replaced soon, and the new coach will make millions of dollars annually, although their job will never be totally secure.

There is a reason why NBA coaches are always so vocal and emotional during games.

Not only do they believe in their teams and want them to win but they know that it doesn’t take many missteps before the front office makes a rash choice and fires them.

In this day and age, any coach in the league can be replaced.

Chris Broussard Says 1 NBA Team Suffered A ‘Horrific Loss’ On Wednesday

Dallas Mavericks v San Antonio Spurs, Game 1

The Golden State Warriors, facing the seemingly overmatched San Antonio Spurs, who had nothing to play for, stumbled into another nail-biter that would test their championship mettle.

The shocking conclusion came when Harrison Barnes drained a fadeaway 3-pointer at the buzzer that sealed a Golden State loss.

It represented another painful chapter in a Warriors season filled with missed opportunities and late collapses.

FOX Sports host Chris Broussard didn’t mince words when assessing the damage of this defeat.

“I said it I think when they lost to Miami a couple weeks ago, horrific loss, and that’s what this was. I mean, San Antonio had lost eight of their last nine games, and you let them come into your building and beat you?” Broussard said on “First Things First.”

“Horrific loss.” pic.twitter.com/m8ggTxJp2V

— First Things First (@FTFonFS1) April 10, 2025

The Warriors’ collapse was particularly frustrating given how the game unfolded.

Despite building a 14-point advantage in the first quarter, Golden State couldn’t put away San Antonio, which refused to back down despite having nothing left to play for in the standings.

What should have been a comfortable win transformed into a thrilling back-and-forth contest.

Stephen Curry delivered another stellar performance with 30 points, and Jimmy Butler added 28 points, but neither star provided enough to overcome the Warriors’ inability to close out crucial contests.

Broussard noted that while the Warriors’ playoff path remains viable, their performances against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks reveal concerning vulnerabilities.

Though Golden State might survive the play-in tournament, the fatigue factor could loom large for aging stars like Draymond Green, Curry and Butler.

Brian Windhorst Says Warriors Are ‘Flawed’

The Golden State Warriors needed to beat the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.

They came close, but not close enough.

Speaking on “First Take” Thursday morning, Brian Windhorst said the Warriors are fundamentally “flawed” and could be setting themselves up for failure.

He said their “small ball” lineup is going to zap all of their energy and won’t work in the long run.

The next few days will be very crucial for Golden State.

"Clearly the Warriors are flawed, look what happened last night."

pic.twitter.com/AaeWXoOwzV

— First Take (@FirstTake) April 10, 2025

The Western Conference standings have never been tighter, and a lot can change between now and the postseason.

Right now, Golden State is the seventh seed with a 47-33 record.

They are barely behind the Memphis Grizzlies and barely ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Ideally, they would win their last two games and climb to the sixth seed, which means they’d avoid the Play-In entirely.

If they don’t, they will have to use a lot of energy to get through that tournament and hold onto either the seventh or eighth seed.

Windhorst said the Warriors already have a lot stacked against them, and their small-ball rotation will require them to play against much bigger and more punishing teams.

This could drain the energy they have left, especially since they have been fighting so hard over the last few weeks.

Their roster may be flawed, but it’s the one they have right now, and they will have to fight hard in the days ahead.

Their final two games of the regular season are against the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers.

These two matches will be the definition of “must-win,” but can the Warriors pull it off?

Steph Curry Gets Honest About Loss To Spurs

Golden State Warriors v Phoenix Suns

The Golden State Warriors were defeated by the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, and they are now dangerously close to being in the Play-In Tournament.

Following the game, Steph Curry spoke with the press, took responsibility for the loss, and plotted the next steps.

He said that it’s time to take care of business and demonstrate what the team is capable of in the final games of the season.

“A good team takes care of business the next two and goes from there. We have to prove we’re a good team,” Curry said, per 95.7 The Game.

The Warriors are now seventh in the West with a 47-33 record.

As a reminder, teams seven through 10 qualify for the Play-In, so if the tournament started today, the Warriors would battle the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Warriors have just two games left, one on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers and then one against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

If both of those games go poorly, Golden State will definitely be in the Play-In.

But everything is so tight in the West right now so they could climb even higher if they play their cards right and compete.

Curry posted 30 points, eight rebounds, and three assists during Wednesday’s game, but the Warriors could not create distance between them and the Spurs, and things were close all night.

The Warriors have been looking good lately and have performed like a cohesive and strong unit for many games.

Can they do it again for just two more?

Curry sounded disappointed but confident in the press conference, so now it is time to step up, lead his team, and prove they are ready for the playoffs.

A lot of people had counted the Golden State Warriors out earlier in the season, but they are looking much better now and are the sixth seed in the West, having gone 7-3 in their last 10 games.

Because of that, Joe Shasky told 95.7 The Game that he thinks the Warriors can go all the way this year.

“I don’t just believe, I know the Warriors can win a championship. I’m dead serious on this. I honestly think the Warriors are gonna win the championship,” Shasky said.

Tuesday night featured another reminder of why the Warriors should never be written off entirely, because they made mincemeat of the Phoenix Suns, beating them 133-95.

Yes, the Suns are not a good team, but the Warriors have had many wonderful performances lately, even against powerful teams.

The Warriors have a plethora of experienced talent, all led by Steph Curry, who is a master of the playoffs.

Plus, they are still being coached by Steve Kerr, who has also been dominant in the postseason.

They have their problems and several stars who have never reached the playoffs, but the Warriors are a team that should be feared.

That doesn’t mean they can win another title this year, of course, because the competition in the West is stifling.

But if they are able to keep playing as they have been lately, they should be taken very seriously by every other team in their conference.

The Warriors have been called washed up and old before, and then they went on to win another championship.

Will they do it again this year, and if not, do they still have a chance to earn one more championship before Curry retires?

Steve Kerr Reveals Concerning Issues For Warriors

Golden State Warriors v Phoenix Suns

It all comes down to this for the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors will face the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday afternoon, and that game will determine if they earn entry to the playoffs or have to duke it out in the Play-In Tournament.

On Friday night, head coach Steve Kerr spoke about his team and was quite frank with his opinion of their recent performances.

“We have to pass the ball better. We have to get spaced better. We have to develop a rhythm. We were in a better place, I think, a few weeks ago,” Kerr said, per Anthony Slater.

— Anthony Slater (@anthonyVslater) April 12, 2025

He said the team was in a better place a few weeks ago, and all Warriors fans would agree with that.

Golden State has been up-and-down all season.

Some weeks they look okay, others they look awful, and then there are times when they appear like one of the best teams in the Western Conference.

Right now, they are not looking like one of the best.

They were able to score a win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, but that was just days after dropping to the San Antonio Spurs in a painful way.

Kerr knows what needs to change for his team, and he will work hard to make that happen.

Ideally, the Warriors would be able to rest their starters on Sunday.

But they’re not like the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, or Los Angeles Lakers, and they don’t know what’s next for them.

They have to fight hard and don’t get much of a break.

Kerr will use Sunday as a chance to secure a spot in the playoffs but also right the wrongs that he has seen.

It all comes down to Sunday afternoon for the Golden State Warriors.

There is just one game left in the regular season, and it will carry great weight, deciding how the postseason starts for the Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers.

He said it should “be like a game 7 kind of vibe,” according to Warriors on NBCS.

The Warriors and Clippers are so close in the standings that this final game will determine a lot.

The winner will secure the sixth seed in the West and a spot in the playoffs, while the loser will be forced to appear in the Play-In Tournament.

No team wants to be in the Play-In, so this game will matter a lot.

On Friday night, Curry put up 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists in 27 minutes.

He shot 6-of-14 from the field but also experienced an injury to his thumb.

But he said he is set to play on Sunday, and the thumb isn’t bothering him too much.

A few weeks ago, the Warriors were one of the most exciting teams in their conference, but they have faced some problems lately, and now their playoff chances are in doubt.

They didn’t want the final game of the season to be do-or-die, but they are attempting to hold onto faith and make a plan to overcome the Clippers.

There was a point in the season when it looked like they wouldn’t even qualify for the Play-In, so they are happy they have improved, but they will do everything they can to avoid the tournament and earn a regular entry into the playoffs.

Everyone will be paying close attention on Sunday as Golden State and Los Angeles square off.

NBA fans were lucky enough to witness some fireworks on Sunday when the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers duked it out in one of the best games of the season.

A lot was on the line, and both teams were fighting hard.

In fact, the two teams actually made history.

As pointed out by the NBA on X, James Harden, Steph Curry, Kawhi Leonard, and Jimmy Butler all scored 30+ points in the game.

That was the first time in league history that four players scored 30+ points in the same game on the last day of the regular season.

These players were giving it their all, and fans were very lucky to see it.

Harden scored a game-high 39 points, while Curry posted 36, Leonard notched 33, and Butler earned 30.

In the end, the Clippers came out on top with their 124-119 win, earning them the fifth seed in the West, while the Warriors are now headed to the Play-In Tournament.

After such a tough battle, many Warriors fans are worried about how their team will perform.

They will face the Memphis Grizzlies.

Curry, Butler, and the rest of the crew hope to make easy work of them so they can get the seventh seed and prepare for the playoffs.

The last thing they want is to lose that game and then head to another match against either the Sacramento Kings or Dallas Mavericks.

As for the Clippers, they are ready to go toe-to-toe with the Denver Nuggets and hope to upset them.

Both teams gave it their all on Sunday, but they don’t have the luxury of relaxing yet.

Analyst Reveals Harsh Truth Of Warriors’ Loss To Clippers

Los Angeles Clippers v Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are returning to the Play-In Tournament after a long and wild regular season.

They had a chance at avoiding the Play-In, but they lost their game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday and now sit as the seventh seed in the West.

Speaking to 95.7 The Game, Mark Willard talked about that loss.

He doesn’t think it’s a huge deal, but he does admit that it hurt the team’s ego a bit.

“Yesterday’s loss was not concerning. They lost to a very good team…but it’s an ego slap. This team acquired Jimmy Butler and stated, ‘Our goal is the 6.’ You fell short and now you get a label. ‘Play-in team,'” Willard said.

Willard is right when he says the team had its sights set on acquiring the sixth seed.

Since adding Jimmy Butler in February, this squad has looked much better and played like true competitors.

For a moment, it seemed like they could climb even higher than the sixth seed, in fact.

Unfortunately for them, they are once again staring down the Play-In, a tournament that has been very tough on them over the last several years.

They are hoping for an easy win over the Memphis Grizzlies so they can secure the seventh seed and start planning a first-round push against the Houston Rockets.

Their egos might be bruised right now because they had high hopes and fell short of them, but they’ll feel even worse if they fall to the Grizzlies.

However, if they get a win, they will gain confidence, and that could help and inspire them when they need it most.

The Warriors may be tired, and they may not have reached their goals, but they are not out of this fight yet.

Insider Reveals Warriors’ Injury Report Ahead Of Play-In Matchup Against Grizzlies

Golden State Warriors v Phoenix Suns

It all comes down to Tuesday night for the Golden State Warriors because they will face the Memphis Grizzlies in the Play-In Tournament.

If they win, they will be the seventh seed in the West and move on.

If they lose, they will have just one more shot at redemption against the winner of the ninth-tenth showdown in the Play-In.

It’ll be a difficult night for the Warriors, but they got some good news with their latest injury report.

According to Anthony Slater, the Warriors will have everyone available for the Grizzlies game.

It is true that Steph Curry has a sprained right thumb and Jimmy Butler was hurt in the last game, but both stars are set to suit up.

The Warriors have a clear injury report for the play-in game against the Grizzlies tomorrow night. Everyone available. Steph Curry has a sprained right thumb and Jimmy Butler took a Kawhi knee to the thigh, but both will play.

— Anthony Slater (@anthonyVslater) April 14, 2025

Obviously, this is great news for the Warriors because Curry and Butler are two monumentally important figures on the roster.

If they aren’t playing, the Warriors’ chances of taking down the Grizzlies diminish.

There is concern, though, because the Warriors are an older team, and they have been through a lot lately.

They have had to fight hard to get to this point, and they are tired and banged up.

If they are able to win on Tuesday, they will get a little break, but if they lose, they will have to play another game and then hopefully reach the playoffs.

They are surely exhausted right now, but they need to keep playing hard.

The Grizzlies are younger and faster, and they are also fighting for their basketball lives, so they will put up a tough battle for Golden State.

The Warriors have all their stars, which is great, but that doesn’t mean Tuesday night will be a breeze.

Analyst Raves About 1 ‘Underrated’ Warriors Rookie

Portland Trail Blazers v Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors weren’t very active during the offseason last summer, but they did make one acquisition that is working out well for them.

Writing on X, Jake Weinbach praised rookie star Quinten Post.

“Quinten Post was an excellent find by the Warriors in the late second-round of the draft,” Weinbach wrote. “He’s been an underrated rookie this year, shooting 40% from 3. Post has the fundamentals of a modern stretch big that can have a role in this league for a long period of time.”

Post is averaging 8.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game on 44.9 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from the three-point line.

On Tuesday night, he posted 11 points and five rebounds off the bench during the Warriors’ win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the Play-In Tournament.

Post might not be the flashiest young star and might not be in the running for Rookie of the Year, but he is showing some real promise at the perfect time for Golden State.

At seven feet and 238 pounds, Post has the ability to clog up the paint, swat down shots, and grab many boards.

That is the exact sort of power the Warriors need, especially now that they are facing the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs.

Every season, there are several surprising stars who flew under the radar and didn’t get a lot of attention in the draft.

Post has had some impressive double-digit games during his opening season in the league, including on Tuesday night.

Does he have more to prove in the upcoming playoffs?

Head coach Steve Kerr has a tendency to reward stars who play their hearts out, so Post has a chance to earn more minutes in the first round.

Analyst Believes 1 Warriors Player Is ‘Unlikely’ To Return To Team Next Year

The Golden State Warriors demanded a lot from all their stars on Tuesday.

But they didn’t demand anything from Jonathan Kuminga, who once again sat on the bench the entire night.

Head coach Steve Kerr chose not to use Kuminga, and it has a lot of people asking what’s next for the young player.

Writing on X, Jake Weinbach laid it out plainly.

“It’s still a bit of a shock that Jonathan Kuminga isn’t seeing the floor for the Warriors,” Weinbach wrote. “Kuminga is set to become a restricted free agent this summer after averaging 15.3 points per game on 45.4% shooting this season. It seems unlikely that he’ll be back with Golden State.”

It’s been a very odd season for Kuminga.

Last year, he was hitting career highs and seemed to earn a spot in the team’s rotation.

At first, he wasn’t getting many minutes and didn’t like his position in the lineup, so he and Kerr sat down and had a heart-to-heart that got them on the same page.

It seemed like their relationship had improved, and Kumigna was becoming an impactful part of the team.

There were even rumors last summer that said the front office viewed Kuminga as untouchable in trade talks.

That clearly isn’t the case now because Kuminga has missed multiple games this season, but not by choice.

Instead, it seems that Kerr is comfortable using the rotations he has written up and isn’t interested in turning to Kuminga.

Not appearing in such an important Play-In game says a lot about Kuminga’s role with the Warriors, and no one would be shocked if he leaves this summer.

The question is, where will he go, and will he earn any minutes until then?
