Pelicans' Jeremiah Fears fuels hype with extremely bold career prediction

Fears, who fittingly wears the number 0, was asked by ESPN's Dave McMenamin during the NBA Summer League what his ideal career would look like 10 years from now. “Top 2 point guard of all time,” Fears said. Rookies, especially, might have a more idealized version of their career. The best point guards ever include Magic Johnson, Chris Paul, Isiah Thomas, Jerry West, Stephen Curry (some debate his true position), Steve Nash, Oscar Robertson, and John Stockton, among others.

NBA Rookie Derik Queen Gets Honest on Fit With Zion Williamson

The New Orleans Pelicans received quite a bit of slack for parting ways with an unprotected first-round pick to move up 10 spots in the 2025 NBA Draft to draft Maryland standout Derik Queen. Queen has put together a respectable showing at Summer League, but questions still remain, in large part because of the price that was paid to acquire him. The No. 13 overall pick recently sat down with SportsKeeda's Mark Medina, where he discussed his fit with the Pelicans and, namely, with star forward Zion Williamson. "I feel like I'm a good player," Queen said.

OKC Thunder vs. New Orleans Pelicans Summer League Game Preview

The Oklahoma City Thunder are taking on the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA Summer League, the last of the pool play games. The OKC Thunder enter this game unbeaten while the Pelicans fly in win-less in Vegas. Oklahoma City have been playing great basketball led by its guard duo of second-year ball handler Ajay Mitchell and the No. 12 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft Nikola Topic, making his NBA debut after rehabbing from an ACL tear.

Pelicans GM Reveals Reason For Signing Warriors Champion

The New Orleans Pelicans recently signed Kevon Looney to a two-year, $16 million contract, joining a frontcourt that features Yves Missi, Derik Queen, Zion Williamson, and more. It was an interesting decision for the Pelicans to hand Looney a contract of that size, especially when it looked like playing time may not be guaranteed for him. Looney had previously spent all ten years of his NBA career with the Golden State Warriors, winning three championships in the Bay.

Imperfect 10: Pelicans Extend Summer Skid to 10 Straight Games

After leading by as many as 10 points early, the New Orleans Pelicans were routed by the Oklahoma City Thunder, 95-81, dropping the Pelicans to 0-4 in the NBA 2K26 Summer League. New Orleans led 20-10 early, but Oklahoma City dominated the final three quarters. The Thunder shot 46% from the field and 35% from deep while the Pelicans made just 37% of their shots and 23% on triples. OKC doubled up New Orleans in steals, 10-5, and points off turnovers, 18-9.

Former Pistons Exec Explains Jordan Poole Trade for Pelicans

When former Detroit Pistons executive Joe Dumars took over for the New Orleans Pelicans recently, he wasted no time making some key changes to the roster to make his presence felt. The Pelicans acquired Jordan Poole from the Washington Wizards, along with ex-Pistons sharpshooter Saddiq Bey, and a second-round pick. The Pelicans parted ways with CJ McCollum, who was a face of the franchise for a few seasons. Recently, Dumars opened up on the decision to trade for the polarizing guard.

Ex-Warriors Champion Gets Honest About Exit From Franchise

Kevon Looney decided to leave the Bay Area for the first time in his career this offseason. The 29-year-old opted to pass on returning to the Golden State Warriors in favor of a new opportunity with the New Orleans Pelicans. In all honesty, his recent statement is less of a hint and more of a straightforward statement.

Fears Scores 22, Not Enough As Pelicans Finish 0-5 in Vegas

The defeat marked the team's 11th consecutive loss in Las Vegas Summer League action, setting a new NBA record for the longest such streak. Despite the disappointing results in the win column, there were some individual performances worth noting, starting with Jeremiah Fears, who has become a bright spot for the Pelicans this summer, particular in his last three games. The 18-year-old guard scored 22 points against the Pacers, his second straight game hitting that mark, and once again showed the combination of confidence, quickness, and shot creation that made him a standout among this year's draft prospects. Fears' emergence is encouraging not just for his scoring, but also for his poise.

Warriors, Pelicans Showing Interest in Nine-Year NBA Veteran: Report

A lot of the top players are off the board in NBA free agency. The talented players still available are either restricted free agents asking for too much money compared to the leverage they hold (Josh Giddey, Jonathan Kuminga, Cam Thomas, and Quentin Grimes) or they are older veterans (Al Horford, Chris Paul, and Russell Westbrook). One player who doesn't fit in either category is Malcolm Brogdon. The former NBA Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year has been productive when he's been healthy, but that's been the biggest issue in his career.

Former Clippers, Pelicans Guard Among Top NBA Free Agents

The 2025 NBA free agency class has often been recognized as a weaker group of players, but that is largely due to the lack of star power. The New Orleans Pelicans surprisingly declined the $2.3 million team option of 23-year-old guard Brandon Boston Jr., and the high-potential stud is still sitting in unrestricted free agency. Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz listed the top seven "cheap NBA free agents still available," and named Brandon Boston Jr. as the fifth-best.

14-Year NBA Veteran Calls Out LeBron James After Lakers' Roster Moves

LeBron James is undoubtedly one of the most influential players to ever play in the NBA. Looking at his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, specifically his second stint, he was able to have a roster built around him to cater to his skill set. Despite the team drafting Andrew Wiggins first overall, the addition of James led to them flipping him for Kevin Love. Looking at his time with the Los Angeles Lakers, he was able to get Anthony Davis added as a co-star alongside him, leading to a 2020 NBA Championship.

Los Angeles Lakers Make Big Decision On Ex-Pelicans Center

The NBA2K26 Summer League has officially come to an end, with Kon Knueppel helping the Charlotte Hornets secure the win in the championship game. While fans got to catch a glimpse of the new generation of stars like Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper, front offices used the time to evaluate their rosters and take that information to make key decisions on their players. For the Los Angeles Lakers, all eyes were on Bronny James this Summer League, as fans are excited to see what his second season has in store. The Lakers have already made some moves since their time in Las Vegas has come to an end, adding Christian Koloko and Chris Manon on two-way contracts.

New Orleans Pelicans' perfect move in 2025 NBA offseason

After years marked by injury woes and underwhelming results, the New Orleans Pelicans have weathered sharp criticism for questionable front-office decisions that put their future draft assets at significant risk. To move from rebuilding pains toward lasting contention, the Pelicans must supplement their promising young core with seasoned, versatile players who fit their long-term vision. The Pelicans' 2025 offseason has generated shockwaves far beyond New Orleans. Many fans and analysts viewed this as a high-risk move that strips the Pelicans of a valuable safety net in what remains a fragile rebuilding project.
