Warriors Should Target Rising Star in Pelicans' Fire Sale

The Golden State Warriors are searching for the best ways to maximize the end of Stephen Curry's, Draymond Green's, and Jimmy Butler's careers. Trading for Butler was part of that, but they face a few big decisions coming up this offseason, like whether or not to extend Jonathan Kuminga. One possible option would be to trade for Trey Murphy III from the New Orleans Pelicans, as it is believed anyone on the roster could be had for the right price. Grant Hughes from Bleacher Report suggested Murphy as an "ambitious" target for the Warriors this offseason.

New Report on Pelicans Looking to Trade Up in NBA Draft

The NBA Draft is nine days away, and the New Orleans Pelicans currently only hold the 7th overall pick. Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper are the consensus top two players in this class, both of whom would've been the top prospect in last year's draft. The collection of prospects after that, like Rutgers' Ace Bailey, Texas' Tre Johnson, Duke's Kon Knueppel, and Baylor's VJ Edgecombe, have differing opinions, but teams remain high on those players.

Double Dip: Pelicans Have Shaky History With Multiple First-Rounders

For the fourth time in franchise history, the New Orleans Pelicans will enter the NBA Draft with multiple first-round picks. In 2006, 2012, and 2019, the Pelicans/Hornets had at least two first-rounders in the same draft. Only two of those, Anthony Davis and Zion Williamson, made it past their rookie contracts with the franchise. Now, holding picks No. 7 and No. 23 in a draft without many stars but full of potential contributors, the Pelicans have to get this right.

NBA Players React to Trey Murphy's Recent Post

The New Orleans Pelicans had an underwhelming 2024-25 campaign filled with injury woes, ultimately finishing 21-61 and falling well short of the Western Conference playoff picture. However, not everything was bad news for the Pelicans. Not only do they now have the seventh overall pick in next week's NBA Draft, but they saw the emergence of rising star Trey Murphy III this season. Through 53 games, Murphy averaged 21.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game with 45.4/36.1/88.7 shooting splits. The 25-year-old forward was one of the few bright spots for New Orleans this season and is now one of the most coveted players on this summer's trade market, if made available. The Pelicans are

Pelicans Predicted To Take Elite Scorer In 2025 NBA Draft

The New Orleans Pelicans looked like a team heading into the 2024-25 season that could easily be a playoff team. The Pelicans went on to finish with the second-worst record in the Western Conference this season, as they are set to select seventh overall on Wednesday's 2025 NBA Draft. With several directions this team could decide to go in, ESPN's latest mock draft has them adding an elite scorer who could become a franchise cornerstone going forward. Arguably the best pure scorer in this year's draft, ESPN has the Pelicans selecting Texas guard Tre Johnson.

Dumars dealing early in his tenure as the Pelicans' new basketball operations chief

Joe Dumars is acting quickly to make his mark on the New Orleans Pelicans. A trio of trades within 10 days has kickstarted a roster overhaul, including the additions of veterans Jordan Poole and Saddiq Bey, along with a second lottery-level pick in the first round of the NBA draft. Pelicans First-Round Pick Gets Honest About Draft Night Criticism

Derik Queen's surname is a near-perfect match to one of New York City's five boroughs. When he was called by the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft, he was in Brooklyn. Last season, Queen averaged 16.5 points, nine rebounds, and 1.1 blocks on 53 percent shooting from the field in 36 appearances. Instead of being routed to the Atlanta Hawks, Queen was traded to New Orleans to join Oklahoma's Jeremiah Fears on a squad featuring Zion Williamson and Jordan Poole.

New Report Reveals Warriors Trade Interest in All-Defensive Wing

The Golden State Warriors were desperate at the past NBA trade deadline to strike a deal for a star to help lighten the burden on superstar guard Steph Curry. After a failed trade attempt to reunite Kevin Durant in Golden State, the team settled on disgruntled Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler. With trades continuously happening around the association and free agency set to get underway on June 30th, the Warriors could look to be active yet again in building up this roster. According to a new report by ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel, two names are coming up in rumors as targets.
