Following the Bulls’ 113-111 comeback win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night, Chicago sits atop the wide-open Eastern Conference with a 6-1 record.

Bulls point guard Coby White has missed all seven games with a calf injury he sustained in the offseason.

Per K.C. Johnson of CHSN, White hopes to return to action for the Bulls’ three-game West Coast trip that will start against the Utah Jazz on Nov. 16.

“I feel good physically, been running a lot,” White said.

White doesn’t have a specific target date but plans to practice next week and potentially play the week of West Coast trip

Chicago will then play at the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 17 and on the road against the Portland Trailblazers on Nov. 19. In the meantime, the Bulls will play four more games, including on Friday night on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Chicago has had strong chemistry on the court without White, who averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.7 rebounds a game last season. White doesn’t think the Bulls will miss a beat when he returns.

“The way I play fits the way we play-quick decisions,” White said. I’m not a ball stopper. I just play to win.”

For those worried about Coby White disrupting chemistry, a fairly preposterous concept given he’s most talented offensive player, White said this: “The way I play fits the way we play-quick decisions. I’m not a ball stopper. I just play to win.”

The Bulls’ strong start has been fueled by great play from Josh Giddey and Nikola Vucevic. Giddey is coming off of back-to-back triple-doubles, the first time the Bulls have seen that happen since Michael Jordan did so in the 1980s.

Chicago could be an even more scary team when White returns.

NBA insider rips Chicago Bulls’ draft class to shreds

The Chicago Bulls are off to an impressive start. Missing Coby White, they’re leading the Eastern Conference at 6-1. They’ve done so without anything from their rookie class. Noa Essengue and Lachlan Olbrich have contributed very little amid this hot start. Obviously, the Bulls are doing just fine without that, but it’s not an ideal situation for the team either way. The future matters, too, and one insider believes the Bulls added almost nothing to the future in the draft.

It’s a good thing for a team to be so good and not need their first-round lottery pick at all. However, since the Chicago Bulls aren’t necessarily overflowing with All-Stars at this point, it is easy to imagine how good they could be if they picked someone who was playing and good at this stage in the draft. Instead, they got Noa Essengue, and he hasn’t played.

Bleacher Report insider Greg Swartz gave them an F, which is the worst grade out of all teams. No one else has an F. “Despite being selected at No. 12 overall, Noa Essengue has yet to log an NBA minute and has been sent to practice with the G-League’s Windy City Bulls ahead of their season opener on Saturday,” Swartz wrote. “An immediate impact would have been nice, although the Bulls claim this was their plan all along.”

Billy Donovan said that this is an 18-year-old player with a “huge runway” to improve, but that the Bulls are going to invest in his development. That means zero NBA minutes right now, although that could change in the future. This was, according to the coach, discussed all the way back in June.

“Essengue is the only lottery pick to not play in a game yet this season. The only other first-rounders who have failed to see the court are Thomas Sorber (out for the year with a torn ACL) and Kasparas Jakučionis (groin injury),” Swartz continued. “This isn’t a good start for Chicago’s lottery pick, no matter how the team spins it.”

NBA: Draft

To be totally fair, Essengue was always seen as a toolsy, upside pick. At 18, it’s no surprise that the Bulls haven’t used him yet. He hasn’t been needed, which is good for the team. It’s just hard to argue against the criticism since this draft class has brought literally nothing to the table so far.

Bill Simmons thinks Chicago Bulls don’t need Coby White

If this early hot streak has indicated anything, it’s that Josh Giddey is the man with the Chicago Bulls. It might also indicate that they can survive without Coby White, who has yet to play thanks to an injury. The Bulls are an impressive 6-1 without him. With a crucial contract decision coming up, that’s bad news for White. Bill Simmons, an NBA analyst, believes it means his future lies elsewhere.

While Coby White would certainly help the Chicago Bulls right now, they’re doing just fine without him. And in the future, they could do the same and save hundreds of millions of dollars to spend elsewhere. That seems to be the takeaway from longtime NBA analyst Bill Simmons, at least.

Simmons said, “If I’m Chicago… I struck oil with Josh Giddey. This is not a sample size, this guy is dominating games… He’s getting where he wants on the court and getting what shot he wants. You’ve got something really special happening here. I don’t want Coby White. I’m not going to pay him next year.”

The analyst said he’d prefer to put his chips into “the Giddey basket” and build around him. He also suggested the Bulls try to trade White, which has been a consideration before. White made himself into a star, but he’s probably going to end up costing the Bulls a little more than he’s worth. In Simmons’ eyes, the Giddey contract and his play make this a non-issue. White can easily be offloaded now, and another team can overpay for him.

His co-host also noted that Matas Buzelis is “everything you could’ve hoped he would be” so far, which makes it easier to move on from White. The Bulls have Giddey’s running mate in Buzelis, which makes White expendable.

Simmons did say that White fits right in with the Bulls’ offensive identity, so it’s certainly not a foregone conclusion that his days are numbered. “They may decide we’re just better off keeping him,” he said. He just believes that White’s affordable expiring contract in a league where “nobody wants to make a trade” could set the Bulls up so nicely that they can’t justify paying White later on.

The Chicago Bulls entered Friday night’s contest against the Milwaukee Bucks with the best record in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls left with a wake-up call and a 6-2 record following a 126-110 loss to the Bucks in front of 17,839 fans at Fiserv Stadium.

Chicago didn’t have an answer to defend Giannis Antetokounmpo, allowing the star center to score 41 points and grab 15 rebounds. He was one assist shy of a triple-double.

Isaac Okoro started off defending Giannis, but his early foul trouble led the Bulls to ask Nikola Vucevic and Matas Buzelis to handle the impossible assignment.

Buzelis struggled to neutralize the Giannis threat. Following the game, Bulls head coach Billy Donovan acknowledged that Giannis overwhelmed Chicago, especially in the fourth quarter when Milwaukee outscored the Bulls 41-30.

Donovan didn’t sugarcoat Buzelis’ defensive effort by offering a brutal assessment, calling Friday night a learning experience for the second-year forward. He wants to see more consistency from the 2024 first-round pick.

‘‘There’s been moments where he has a lot to learn, so to speak,’’ Donovan said to reporters after the game, via Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun Times. ‘‘I think the defensive assignments, when he gets his length and keeps himself between his man and the basket, he’s been good.

“I think the consistency of that is something he’s working through.”

The Chicago Bulls need Matas Buzelis to develop​

Buzelis had a strong night offensively, scoring 20 points. He added eight rebounds and three assists. His -2 on the court was tied with Patrick Williams for the best on the Bulls against the Bucks.

Donovan has seen growth from Buzelis and hopes he’ll get better before he faces Giannis later in the season.

‘‘Where he was a year ago today to where he is now is night and day,” Donovan said. “My hope is with the way he works and that mentality, that growth will continue.’’

Friday night was a humbling experience for the young team. Chicago will next travel to play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.

Chicago Bulls issued major warning after loss to Cavs

The Chicago Bulls went from looking like a contender for the Eastern Conference’s top seed to looking like a Play-In Tournament team in two games.

Following the Bulls’ collapse against Milwaukee in the fourth quarter on Friday night, Chicago had a similar trajectory take place against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.

Giannis scored 41 points and took over the fourth quarter on Friday night. Donovan Mitchell was the hero for the Cavs, scoring 29 points while adding six rebounds and six assists in Cleveland’s 128-122 comeback win in front of 19,432 fans at Rocket Arena.

The Bulls are now 6-3 and a troubling 1-3 on the road.

Following Chicago’s loss on Saturday night, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times had a warning for the Bulls, arguing that more results like the last two games are set to come for the team until they can add star power to the roster to help close out games.

“Sure, they have looked great against younger players on the rise like a Cade Cunningham with Detroit and Orlando’s Paolo Banchero, but the NBA’s truly elite?” Cowley wrote. “The Bulls may have depth and a very good team, but they don’t have the star power some franchise’s can flex, and it’s showing up late in games.

“Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell were reminders of that.”

Even Josh Giddey noted that the Bulls need to find ways to end games against star players.

The Bulls are set to host another star, Victor Wembanyama, on Monday night when they host the San Antonio Spurs.

Maybe these games will show the front office they need to be aggressive in adding a star at the trade deadline.

The Chicago Bulls desperately need a win at home over the 7-2 San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

The Bulls started the regular season hot, but have come back to earth after humbling losses to the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers on the road. The young Bulls have struggled on the road, going 1-3 to begin the season.

Chicago has a chance to regain its standing in the Eastern Conference with a home game against the Spurs and a road contest against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. The Bulls will then have a three-game West Coast trip, and Coby White hopes to make his return around when the team plays the Utah Jazz on Sunday.

However, the status of Josh Giddey is up in the air for Monday night.

Without White, Giddey would be another huge miss against Victor Wembanyama and San Antonio.

Giddey is averaging 21.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game through the first nine contests. He leads the Bills in assists and points and is second to center Nikola Vucevic in rebounds (10.6 per game).

Without Giddey and White, Chicago would need to lean on Vucevic and second-year forward Matas Buzelis to earn a seventh win.

The Chicago Bulls played valiantly against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night. But even if their two best players, Josh Giddey and Coby White had played, the Bulls still likely would have lost.

Chicago built another double-digit lead in the fourth quarter, only to be outscored 32-19 in the game’s final 12 minutes in a 121-117 loss to the Spurs in front of 21,672 fans at the United Center.

The Bulls had no answer for star forward Victor Wembanyama, who drilled back-to-back threes on Nikola Vucevic to take a 117-114 lead with less than a minute remaining.

Following the game, Vucevic told reporters he had no chance off guarding Wembanyama.

“He’s, what, 7-5? There’s not much you can do,” Vucevic said, via K.C. Johnson of CHSN. “I’m not sure how much he even sees me.”

Through a now three-game losing stretch, the Bulls had similar answers agaisnt Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Giddey played in both of those games.

Nikola Vucevic had a message for the front office​

Vucevic had a warning for the Bulls front office, suggesting the current roster doesn’t have the firepower to compete late in games against stars in the association.

“They’re the best players in the league, and they’re going to do what they do,” Vucevic said via Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “Some games we’re going to be able to limit them. When they get it going, I don’t think there’s a whole lot you can do.

“Even against teams that have those great players we’ve played well. (Monday) we had a chance, Cleveland we had a chance as well. Just didn’t close it down the stretch.”

The Bulls had the Eastern Conference’s best record before entering Friday’s game against the Bucks. Chicago is now 6-4 and is tied with the Philadelphia 76ers for the conference’s sixth best record.

The Bulls are looking like a Play-In Tournament team because they don’t have star power.

Chicago fans have seen this story before. Maybe the Bulls will try something different and trade Vucevic to begin to take the necessary steps to gain a game-changing player.

Chicago Bulls HC Billy Donovan bemoans lack of talent after Pistons loss

The Chicago Bulls put up valiant efforts against Giannis Antetokounmpo, Donovan Mitchell, and Victor Wembanyama, only to be unable to finish in the fourth quarter in their previous three games.

On Tuesday night, the Bulls had no answer for the Detroit Pistons without Cunningham or Jalen Duren in a 124-113 loss to the Detroit Pistons in front of 19,023 fans at Little Caesars Arena. The defeat was the fourth in a row for Chicago.

Veteran Center Nikola Vucevic was worse than useless, earning a -10 on the court for 25 minutes. He scored just six points and added six rebounds and three assists.

Some good things were seen from Matas Buzelis, as he added 21 points, 14 rebounds, two blocks, and two assists in 34 minutes. Though his defense could have been more crisp.

In a span of five days, the Bulls have gone from having the Eastern Conference’s best record at 6-1 to being 6-5 before playing the Utah Jazz on Sunday.

Chicago was without Josh Giddey against the San Antonio Spurs and Pistons. The Bulls hope to have him and Coby White back for the upcoming three-game West Coast trip.

Bulls head coach Billy Donovan didn’t sound confident that their eventual return means much to an inadequate roster.

“We’re not talented enough not to play desperate,” Donovan told reporters after the game, per K.C. Johnson of CHSN.

Yikes.

The Bulls should feel desperate before playing the Jazz. Coming off a four-game losing streak, Chicago has slipped to No. 8 in the East.

The Bulls have proven the sharp start through the first seven games to be fool’s gold.

Chicago should win two of three on the road. The Jazz are 4-7. On Monday night, the Bulls face a tough challenge against the 8-2 Denver Nuggets before finishing the trip against the 5-5 Portland Trailblazers.

It will be important for players like Giddey and White to gain chemistry if the Bulls hope to make the playoffs outright. As it stands, Chicago is a Play-In Tournament team, and Donovan doesn’t have faith that the roster has enough talent to be more than that.

The Chicago Bulls started out as hot as any team in the NBA, but they’ve since struggled and look a lot more like the classic Bulls. A trade might be in order, but not one that’s going to necessarily bring in a superstar. Instead, one NBA insider has an idea that would give them a few assets and a couple of rotational players to finally move on from the aging Nikola Vucevic.

The Chicago Bulls’ scorching start has given way to more mediocrity, and it suggests that this roster still isn’t quite ready to contend. It’s still early, but the signs are there that Chicago ought to consider looking more to the future than the immediate present. That means finally trading Nikola Vucevic. Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley pitched an idea that the Bulls should consider.

This mock trade sends Nikola Vucevic to the Dallas Mavericks for Daniel Gafford, Jaden Hardy, a 2030 second-round pick (via PHI), and a 2032 second-round pick. “Chicago’s 5-0 start was fun, but the foundation has always felt flimsy. The Bulls have gone a forgettable 1-4 since, and their plus-0.6 net rating (18th overall) suggests this group is doing little beyond logging more mileage on the treadmill of mediocrity,” Buckley wrote.

He essentially summed it up by saying if they can get assets for Vucevic, they absolutely should. “His market value won’t measure up to his numbers, since he’s 35 with defined limitations on defense, but maybe Dallas comes calling due to its glaring deficiencies on offense,” Buckley added. If the Mavericks do call, then Chicago could get a much better fit in Gafford as well as a potential scorer off the bench in Hardy. The future picks are nice, too.

It’s unclear what the Mavericks will do, considering they fired their GM and are in shambles right now, but cleaning house is an option. That would mean that the Bulls could pull something like this off, although the Mavericks may not want to bring in players in what amounts to a lost season. Still, the Bulls should try to find a trade for Vucevic, even if it’s not Dallas.

Chicago Bulls player believes team is holding him back

The Chicago Bulls are getting set to start a three-game road trip beginning on Sunday against the Utah Jazz coming off a nasty four-game slide.

The Bulls were without Josh Giddey for the last two games, including Wednesday night’s humbling 124-113 loss to the Detroit Pistons. Chicago hopes Giddey and Coby White will be back to play the Jazz.

One of the bright spots on the Bulls’ roster during the losing streak has been forward Dalen Terry. The 2022 first-round pick was a +3 during his 10 minutes on the court against the Pistons. He was a +2 on the court in Chicago’s 121-117 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

Terry played just two minutes against the Spurs but scored four points. His lack of playing time is a consistent theme, which isn’t good news considering he’s in a contract year.

Per Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Terry argued that he thinks he should have a larger role in the rotation, but doesn’t believe the Bulls want to give him that opportunity.

“Playing my role is real big for me,” Terry said. “I know what I’m capable of, I know I can do a lot more things, but that’s just not what the team needs me to do. I know if it was up to me, I would play in Chicago forever, but I want to carve my way out here as much as I can.

“If I do go to a different team and they see me, they’ll be like, ‘OK, this is your role.’ And I can do that. I just have to adapt to the different situation I’m in.”

Trying to avoid a dark place​

Terry is averaging 1.7 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game this season. Terry wants to avoid going to a “dark place” while being put on the shelf in Chicago.

“I feel like it’s been a situation I’ve been in my whole life to be honest with you,” Terry said. “I feel like with this being a contract year and things not starting like you want them to, I feel like guys can go into a dark place, but I just look at it like, ‘Man, it’s just basketball and we’re winning right now.’

“So my feelings aren’t really the priority. I just get my feelings out when I’m working out.”

Terry averaged 4.5 points, 1.3 assists, and 1.7 rebounds per game last season in 73 games played. He averaged more than double the minutes last season (13.5) compared to what head coach Billy Donovan is allocating to the former Arizona standout through his first seven appearances this season.

Former Chicago Bulls guard has request for Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen

It’s been 30 years since the start of the second three-peat for the Chicago Bulls, a season in which the team went 72-10 and capped it off with their fourth NBA title. That was a special season for the franchise, setting the mark for the best record in a single season at that point.

And while the franchise celebrated that team in January of 2024 by putting them in the ring of honor, a few notable names were missing.

Neither Michael Jordan nor Scottie Pippen were in attendance for that ceremony and the two appear to have an ongoing feud that has lasted years. But now, one teammate wants to put an end to that.

Randy Brown was a reserve guard on that historic Bulls team, so he saw everything that happened that season. Brown is familiar with both Jordan and Pippen and during a recent interview, he spoke on the “feud” the two are having.

In an exclusive interview with ESportsBets, Brown told the site that he’s texted both players in hopes of getting them to ‘hug it out’ and be friends again.

“I’m not going to let it go,” Brown said. “I’m hoping it will happen sooner rather than later. Even though everyone’s read in the media about Michael and Scottie’s differences, all that stuff. I hope it can all come to fruition, that we can hug each other one last time. And then from there, we can see where it goes.”

Brown isn’t the only one hoping for an end to the feud. A lot of Bulls fans would love to see Jordan and Pippen together once again.

There are no plans currently for a reunion hosted by the Bulls. But Brown believes there needs to be one for that special season.

“That’s the talk of the town… I understand everyone goes on with their lives,” Brown said. “You’ve got kids, grandkids. A couple of my teammates have kids playing. So you lose focus of that a little bit. But I try to be that team guy. I’m on a text chain with all my guys. I’m never going to let it go. I want all my guys to get together one last time before it’s finally over, because we need to be recognized.”

Time will tell if this team gets back together one more time and if Jordan and Pippen can settle their differences.

Chicago Bulls starting 5 earns brutal assessment

For a little bit, it looked like the Chicago Bulls were destined for greatness. A 6-1 start has all but completely crumbled, and their lineup has turned back into a pumpkin. What most people thought about the Bulls before the season is playing out while Coby White sits with an injury. The hot start may have been fool’s gold, and this lineup may just not be all that good. At least, that’s one analyst’s take on the situation.

The starting lineup of Tre Jones, Josh Giddey, Isaac Okoro, Matas Buzelis, and Nikola Vucevic has not been very good. The net rating on that unit is -13.1. They’re getting blown out when on the floor, which is surprising given how solid the Bulls have been. Even if they’ve slipped recently, they’re still 6-5 on the season. According to Grant Hughes with Bleacher Report, the starting lineup, which earned a D, is not at all responsible.

“When this group is on the floor, the offense is a complete four-quadrant failure. Its shooting is abysmal, it turns the ball over almost 20.0 percent of the time, it never grabs offensive rebounds and it can’t get to the foul line,” Hughes wrote. “The only bright spot is that opponents have actually shot with roughly average accuracy on threes against Chicago’s starters, a departure from its other lineups’ unsustainable good luck on the opponent shooting front.”

The Bulls have one loss at home, but the 5-0 start looks like a distant memory at this point. Still, Giddey is almost averaging a triple-double. Vucevic is shooting almost 50% on his three-point attempts. Buzelis clearly looks like an impactful player already in year two. The numbers when those guys, and others, are on the floor together, though, paint an ugly picture.

“The numbers say the Bulls’ starters, together, have been awful to this point. The team’s worst quarter, by point differential, has consistently been the first,” Hughes added. “Despite deserving something in the ‘B’ range as a team, we can’t reward a starting group that routinely gets hammered with a good grade.” The Bulls have some talent in the lineup, but they’ve not been able to outperform other starting fives without Coby White. Unfortunately, he won’t do anything to help the defense when he returns.

In ESPN analyst Zach Lowe’s purely hypothetical trade, the Chicago Bulls would come away with Anthony Davis, and the Dallas Mavericks would get Coby White, Nikola Vucevic, the Trail Blazers’ future first-round pick, and a Bulls’ first-rounder. This answers a few questions for Chicago, namely what to do with White’s contract situation. It also moves Vucevic, who brings nothing defensively and is an expiring contract.

Lowe said that the Bulls may be ‘desperate’ to stay in the vibe that the 6-1 start created, so they may take a big swing like this. “You could easily build a deal,” he went on. He believes the Bulls could throw assets into this, including Patrick Williams and the above-mentioned players/picks. It would change their offense, though, because Vucevic’s spacing helps open the paint for Josh Giddey to have free rein.

While Davis can shoot, he doesn’t shoot like or as often as Vucevic, which clogs the paint. Giddey would have to adjust, but having a defensive juggernaut in the paint (who can also play really good offense) might be worth it. “It’s the Bulls, the Bulls have good cap flexibility going forward, almost no matter what, so this would almost be like a free agency signing,” Lowe concluded.

The Mavericks probably want to move on from Davis since he’s often hurt and now does not fit the Cooper Flagg timeline following the disastrous Luka Doncic trade. The Mavs would net some younger pieces and assets to build around Flagg, and Vucevic is a free agent at the end of the year. Plus, they could see what some shooting does to open things up for Flagg, so it’s very plausible.

The only question is if the Bulls want to make this deal, and if they’re willing to reshape their entire offense and make things harder on Giddey to do so.

Coby White to make return for Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls got off to a hot start this season but the past few weeks have been tough sledding. Chicago is now 6-5 having lost four-straight games following the 6-1 start. They’ve also battled some injuries and haven’t had a fully healthy roster yet.

But that could change.

On Sunday, the team received good news regarding a key piece to their rotation in Coby White.

Coby White to make season debut​

With the Bulls on the road Sunday night in Utah, guard Coby White will make his season debut. Bulls’ PR released the news during the afternoon as White has now been cleared to play.

The 25-year-old White has yet to play this season after he’s been rehabbing from a calf strain injury. He’s coming off a big season a year ago, averaging a career-high 20.4 points per game.

White told beat reporter K.C. Johnson that he’s “excited to get back and play the game I love.”

Johnson also reported that White will be on a minutes restriction for the game somewhere around 24 per game. That number hasn’t been finalized so it will be interesting to see what they do when he makes his debut.

For the Bulls, this could be a big boost. With that four-game losing streak, they have been without Josh Giddey who has missed a few games due to an injury. Giddey’s emergence was a big story to start the year and getting him back with White should certainly help things.

It’s a beast of a proposal, and it would gut the Bulls’ depth. For that reason, it might not be the wisest investment. However, this deal doesn’t involve Nikola Vucevic, who, as an expiring contract, could be dealt elsewhere to bring back more depth/assets.

The Bulls aren’t the 6-1 team they started out as, but they’re also probably not the mediocre 10th seed in the East they have been. That might necessitate a trade, especially with the East wide open. The justification for the trade from Chicago’s perspective is, according to the B/R staff, that “landing an elite two-way big like Davis would help push the Bulls into a higher tier in the Eastern Conference.”

They also wrote, “The first-round picks given in the deal, including one from the Portland Trail Blazers, wouldn’t tie up the Bulls’ long-term draft capital.” With that in mind, it might be worth pursuing, but it might also be putting the cart before the horse.

Chicago Bulls’ Billy Donovan admits team has been ‘disconnected’

The Chicago Bulls started hot, taking a 6-1 record through their first seven games.

But the cracks that were hiding in the surface have been exposed as the Bulls lost their fifth game in a row in a hard-fought 150-147 double-overtime contest against the Utah Jazz in front of 18,186 fans at the Delta Center on Sunday night.

Coby White made his debut against the Jazz. He came off the bench to add 27 points, four rebounds and eight assists in 30 minutes on the court. He showed some rust, shooting only 35.7 percent from the field.

Following the loss, Bulls head coach Billy Donovan told reporters in his news conference that the team had been “disconnected” with White out through the first 11 games.

“When you see (White) on his own, not being able to participate in practice, he’s up on a treadmill trying to get himself back,” Donovan said via Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun Times.

Even with White, the Bulls dropped a game they should have won against a Jazz team that had a 4-8 record entering Sunday’s contest.

Per K.C. Johnson of CHSN, Chicago will not have White when they travel to play the 10-2 Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

“Coby White said he felt stronger as game progressed and that medical, who cleared him for exceeding minute restriction, already has told him he won’t play in Denver,” Johnson posted on X.

The Bulls’ loss to the Jazz knocked the team to No. 11 in the weak Eastern Conference standings. They’re currently behind the 7-7 Boston Celtics for the last spot in the Play-In Tournament.

Hopefully, the Bulls will become more connected as White ramps up his time on the court in the coming days. However, Chicago might not be a threat in the conference even with a healthy White.

Chicago Bulls’ Josh Giddey sends urgent warning to team

The Chicago Bulls just have the Denver Nuggets’ number.

The Bulls swept the Nuggets in their two-game series last season. Chicago snapped a five-game losing streak by defeating Denver 130-127 in front of 19,951 fans at Ball Arena on Monday night.

The Bulls weren’t given much of a chance to win the contest with Coby White ruled out. Per ESPN BET, Chicago was a 10.5-point underdog to Denver. But the Bulls showed a lot of fight coming off a double-overtime loss to the Utah Jazz on Sunday night.

The bench helped the Bulls earn the win after a long night in Utah on Sunday.

Ayo Dosunmu was tied with Josh Giddey for a team-high 21 points. All Chicago starters were double-digit minuses on the +/- scale, but the bench had four on the double-digit plus side, including Dosunmu, who led the team with a +25 in 26 minutes.

The team effort helped overcome a toasty night by star center Nikola Jokic, who earned a triple-double with a game-high 36 points, 18 rebounds, and 13 assists. But he missed a 36-foot three-point attempt as time expired to allow the Bulls to improve to 7-6.

Jokic accounted for 11 points in the final six minutes, but fortunately, Chicago was able to force a stop on the Nuggets’ final offensive possession.

Star Jamal Murray also had a big night, scoring 34 points to go along with 11 rebounds.

Following the game, Giddey had a message for the Bulls, suggesting they needed to alter their defensive strategy as stars have dominated Chicago in the final minutes during the five-game losing streak.

“It’s been an issue for us where the main guys have gotten off in the fourth quarter and taken over games,” Giddey told reporters, via Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “We can’t leave that responsibility to one person. Every team is going to their best guy down the stretch.

“We can’t leave guys on an island to guard these guys because they’re too good, too big.”

A favorable schedule is upcoming​

The Bulls won’t have to deal with a superstar when they play the 6-7 Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday night to wrap up a three-game trip against Western Conference teams.

Chicago has a favorable schedule upcoming to end November. Only the Miami Heat (8-6) has a winning record in the next six contests.

But Giddey’s message needs to be taken to heart when the Bulls play the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Milwaukee Bucks in December.

It’s the only way the Bulls can avoid being a Play-In Tournament team… or worse.

Chicago Bulls projected to land intriguing freshman in first NBA mock draft

The Chicago Bulls got off to a fast start this season, getting off to a 6-1 start and found themselves on top of the eastern conference. But since then, the Bulls have struggled losing five-straight before beating Denver on the road Monday night.

Right now, it looks like the Bulls will eventually end up in the play-in game and potentially the lottery. While there have been some positives so far, this team really needs another difference maker and they could look to the 2026 NBA Draft just for that.

On Tuesday, Jeremy Woo of ESPN released his first mock draft, projecting all 30 picks in the first round. For the Bulls, he has them taking an intriguing freshman from UConn who has yet to hit the college court.

Chicago Bulls take Braylon Mullins in mock draft​

The Bulls have found something at the guard spot with Josh Giddey plus the combination of Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu and Tre Jones. But they need to find a legit shooter who can score at all spots on the court. Enter Braylon Mullins.

Woo has Mullins being mocked to the Bulls at No. 13:

Mullins remains out with an ankle injury but is on track to return in the coming weeks, and NBA teams will be eager to assess him in a college setting. His excellent 3-point shooting, both off movement and off the bounce, gives him a calling-card skill, plus he’s a tough competitor with positional size who can chip in defensively. UConn has historically done well featuring its shooters under Dan Hurley and will need him to make an impact, positioning him for a potential one-and-done season if things go smoothly.

The Bulls own their pick in 2026 and returned to the middle of the pack after a hot start to the season — the healthy return of Coby White and Josh Giddey will offer a better sense of which direction Chicago is headed with respect to the draft.

Mullins is a five-star recruit out of Indiana who picked UConn in his recruitment. The top 15 recruit is known for his sharpshooting from the perimeter, lighting it up at the high school level.

While he’s missed the start of the season so far, we should see him on the court in early January. He’s a player who could raise his stock even more. But at 13, he would make sense for the Bulls who need some perimeter shooting.

The Chicago Bulls needed a win in a big way on Monday night at the Ball Arena in Denver. Losers of five straight, the Bulls pulled out a victory over the Nuggets, 130-127, thanks to a pair of three-pointers hit by guard Kevin Huerter and center Nikola Vucevic.

Despite the Bulls losing a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, the bench stood out in the victory and has been getting their job done all season long.

Led by guard Ayo Dosunmu, the Bulls have one of the deepest benches in the NBA this season, ranking second in points per game (48.1), per Bulls on CHSN. The Memphis Grizzlies hold the top spot with 48.9 points per game.

The former second-round pick (38th overall) in the 2021 draft, Dosunmu, is finally hitting his stride in the NBA, scoring a career-high 15.7 points per game. Adding 3.4 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 25.5 minutes (11 games), the 25-year-old is shooting 55.4% from the floor and 46.5% from behind the arc.

Tre Jones and Kevin Huerter have also been great off the Bulls’ bench​

Guards Kevin Huerter and Tre Jones have also been great off the bench. Huerter is averaging 14.4 points, 2.8 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and shooting 32.3% from three and 50.4% from the field in 26.4 minutes (13 games), while Jones is averaging 13.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 29.9 minutes (11 games).

Coming over from the Sacramento Kings (Huerter) and the San Antonio Spurs (Jones) in the deal that sent guard Zach LaVine to the Kings at last season’s trade deadline, both have done well to add to the Bulls’ young core.

Jones has done well enough in his season and some change so far to earn a starting role, but with how guard Josh Giddey is performing, it’s hard to find a spot.
