Utah Mammoth's 2024-25 Report Cards: Logan Cooley



The inaugural season for the Utah Hockey Club (now the Utah Mammoth) is officially over. The team finished with a 38-31-13 record while their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners, finished with a 34-32-4-2 record, which was good enough for the seventh playoff spot in the Pacific Division. The Roadrunners went on to lose in the first round of the playoffs 2-1 to the Abbotsford Canucks. With the season in the books, it's time to look at the 48 Utah players under an NHL contract (excluding Connor Ingram for obvious reasons) and grade their 2024-25 seasons.

Schaefer, other top prospects enjoy 'pretty cool' NHLPA Rookie Showcase



The 19-year-old forward was wearing the jersey for the first time at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Wednesday after Utah selected Mammoth as its permanent brand identity on May 7. “It's got a fierce logo,” Iginla said. Iginla was among 31 NHL prospects at the Rookie Showcase, where players were photographed for their first Upper Deck trading cards and participated in video shoots on the ice for EA Sports and other promotional materials for the upcoming season and beyond.

New Mammoth practice facility to debut Sept. 10



The Utah Mammoth announced their rookie camp plans on Tuesday. Along with the announcement came an intriguing note: It will be held at their new practice facility in Sandy. Barring any other announcements, it will be the first official event to take place at the facility, which is located at the southeast corner of The Shops at South Town. The team spent its first season practicing at the Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns.

The 3-goalie system almost never works. Here's how Utah could navigate it



When a player steps away from hockey to get help through the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program, his NHL squad has little to no contact with him. In the instance of Utah Mammoth goaltender Connor Ingram, who entered the program in March for the second time in his career, management received its updates through the grapevine. “As a GM, you just have to make sure that there's depth,” GM Bill Armstrong said in an interview ahead of free agency day.
