Spurs Predicted To Make ‘Major Leap’ Next Season

The time has come for the San Antonio Spurs to take a huge leap forward.

That’s according to Michael C. Wright, who wrote about the season ahead for the Spurs.

In his piece for ESPN, he said that the growth of Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle will anchor the team in 2025-26, and there is every reason to believe that other additions will help them become a team to watch in the Western Conference.

“The Spurs produced a streak of 22 consecutive postseason appearances from 1997-98 to 2018-19 and could finally be poised to end their six-year drought after drafting in the top 10 for four straight years. The health and development of San Antonio’s young talent — especially back-to-back NBA Rookie of the Year winners Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle — will be crucial in leading a revamped roster that now features another Rookie of the Year candidate in No. 2 pick Dylan Harper, along with veteran additions such as Luke Kornet and Kelly Olynyk,” Wright wrote.

Everyone has been waiting for this Spurs team to become truly competitive.

When they acquired Wembanyama in the draft a couple of years ago, it was predicted that he’d be one of the best players in the league in no time at all.

But everyone said the squad around him would need to get better in order for the Spurs to truly be scary.

The front office has been hard at work, and lucky in the draft, and it might all pay off in the new year.

Of course, everyone in the lineup, including Wembanyama, needs to stay healthy, and the coaching staff needs to figure out how to get past some tough competition.

But most people agree the team should finally be back in the playoffs, which will be a delight for fans who have missed San Antonio’s postseason participation for six years.

Victor Wembanyama Has Noticeable Physique Change

Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is about to start his third season in the NBA, and it might be his best yet.

His first two years have been filled with ups and downs, but his third campaign could be consistently great from beginning to end.

An image of Wembanyama is making the rounds online because it features the Spurs star looking like he’s put on some weight during the summer.

His arms look strong and toned, meaning that Wembanyama is paying close attention to his physicality for the upcoming season.

Ever since entering the NBA, there have been concerns about how Wembanyama is built.

He’s incredibly tall, of course, but he’s also a very skinny young man.

Some Spurs fans are afraid that his sort of build cannot last long in the league, and they are afraid that he will get hurt or simply won’t be able to keep up with the competition.

Wembanyama isn’t accepting that and has been figuring out ways to get bigger.

He looks much different than he did when he was a rookie, and that’s a promising development for the Spurs.

Wembanyama was only able to play in 46 games last season due to a health issue.

But that problem has been resolved, and now Wembanyama is prepared to launch into his third season, stronger and healthier than ever before.

Over the last few months, Wembanyama has been traveling the world and finding ways to get his mind in the right place before 2025-26.

He has obviously also been enhancing his physique.

Wembanyama was already scary in the frontcourt, but this new look promises he’ll be even more frightening to the competition.

De’Aaron Fox Shows Off Wild Dunk In Camp

De’Aaron Fox of the San Antonio Spurs is 6-foot-3, which means he doesn’t dunk the basketball often.

But when he does, it is something to behold.

A video of Fox dunking at a kids’ basketball camp is making the rounds online.

In the video, Fox catches great air, performs a perfect windmill dunk, and then has something to say about it after.

“Tell them boys I still got bounce. Tell them I choose not to dunk. I put that thing in the basket without dunking,” Fox said.

Spurs fans would love to see more moves like this in the upcoming season.

The Spurs might not need Fox to make these sorts of dunks in the 2025-26 season, especially because they have one of the best big men in the league, Victor Wembanyama.

But it’s still an astonishing sight, and Fox should be proud of himself for how he moved and dunked.

Last season was a very eventful one for Fox, and he saw his career change in huge ways.

He moved on from the Sacramento Kings, which is something that many people saw coming for the last few years.

He settled down with the Spurs, a team he reportedly wants to be with for the long-term future.

During his 17 games in San Antonio, Fox averaged 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists on 44.6 percent from the field.

A lot of fans believe that he was still finding his footing with the Spurs during those 17 games, so they expect bigger and better things from him when the new season kicks off next month.

Fox is hoping to do a lot for the Spurs.

He may not be performing rim-rattling dunks like this, but Fox is prepared to perform well and impress loyal Spurs fans.

Spurs Rookie Underwent Successful Surgery

The San Antonio Spurs once again had great luck at the NBA draft and selected Dylan Harper as the No. 2 overall pick.

Sadly, Harper is experiencing injury problems before his rookie season has even started.

Shams Charania gave a tough update to Spurs fans, revealing that Harper will miss training camp because of surgery on his left thumb.

Training camp isn’t going to happen for Harper, but Opening Night might still be possible.

“San Antonio Spurs No. 2 pick Dylan Harper underwent surgery Friday to repair a partially torn ligament in his left thumb that he suffered in a workout Wednesday, and the hope is Harper will be ready for the season opener Oct. 22 in Dallas, sources tell ESPN,” Charania posted on X.

— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) September 5, 2025

Opening Night for the Spurs was supposed to feature the No. 2 Harper battling the No. 1 Cooper Flagg.

Unfortunately, that may not happen if Harper isn’t fully recovered by October 22.

Even if he does heal quickly, Harper is going to miss a very important training camp, which could hurt him.

That will give him less time to find his chemistry with teammates.

It’ll also impair his adjustment process, which is vital for a young rookie with such high expectations.

Harper was chosen as No. 2, and many people believe he’s one of the best second picks in years.

He has been praised for his size and play-making abilities.

During his season with Rutgers, Harper averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists.

The Spurs are expecting great things from Harper, and they might still get them.

But right now, there are questions about when he’ll be ready to make his hotly anticipated debut in the NBA.

Victor Wembanyama Seen Working Out With NBA Legend

San Antonio Spurs v Atlanta Hawks

(Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs has been very busy during this offseason, and he obviously means business.

He wants to storm into the new year and has been getting some great pointers from a few of the biggest names in NBA history.

A picture shared by Bradeaux on X showed Wembanyama working out on a practice court with Hakeem Olajuwon.

If Wembanyama is able to use some of the lessons he learns from Olajuwon, the league could be in serious trouble.

Olajuwon is a Hall of Famer and 12-time All-Star.

He’s also a three-time blocking champion, which means he and Wembanyama can spend a lot of time working on defense.

But they will also work on tenacity and physicality, two things that Olajuwon was great with during his 18 years in the league.

Earlier this offseason, Wembanyama was also seen with Kevin Garnett, who definitely understands what it means to be a tenacious player.

Now, Spurs fans are salivating at the prospect of Wembanyama combining what he is picking up from both Olajuwon and Garnett.

This could take his abilities and his impact on the court to a whole other level.

Wembanyama produced 24.3 points and 11.0 rebounds last season, shooting 47.6 percent from the field.

Sadly, he was held back to just 46 games because of his health issue, but that shouldn’t be a problem in the new year.

For that reason, a lot of people believe that Wembanyama will prove what he’s truly capable of in the new season.

He might be in the running for Defensive Player of the Year, MVP, and even more.

Right now, he is studying the game with icons like Olajuwon and Garnett.

In just a few weeks, he will convert all he has learned into on-court explosiveness.

Victor Wembanyama Reveals Big Plans For Spurs Fans

One of the best aspects of attending a live NBA game is experiencing the cheers and support of the fans.

Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is well aware of that, and that is why he is trying to find San Antonio’s very best fans.

The Spurs are holding open tryouts for a new “supporter’s section,” which will be filled with loud, proud fans for all 2025-26 home games.

Wembanyama came up with the idea and spoke about it to ESPN.

“If this group of ultras reaches its full potential, I have no doubt that it’s going to help us win games in the future for sure,” Wembanyama said. “I mean, the 41 regular season games at home this season, that’s 41 opportunities for them to push in the fourth quarter and give us that extra energy and that second wind that can give us the win.”

Wembanyama was inspired by soccer and basketball fans throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

In those regions, the fans are incredibly loud, committed, and engaged for every second of the game.

They sing songs, hold banners, and create chants – which is exactly what the Spurs have in mind.

Wembanyama will be on hand for the tryouts this weekend, and he will judge people who are ready for a long-term commitment.

To be eligible for this super fan section, a person has to promise to attend at least 75 percent of home games and participate in all “chants and rituals.”

On top of that, there is a $999 membership cost to be in the new club, but it comes with discounts and opportunities to meet special guests.

For the right fan, this package could be well worth it.

Wembanyama has high hopes for his team in the new season, and he wants these special kinds of fans to come along for the ride.

Spurs Urged To Trade For Dynamic Jazz Star

Dallas Mavericks v San Antonio Spurs, Game 1

The San Antonio Spurs have a few of the best young players in the league right now, including Victor Wembanyama.

They know that the time has come for them to consistently build a strong roster because their potential has rarely been higher.

If they want to add another star around Wembanyama, they’d be wise to trade for Lauri Markkanen, currently of the Utah Jazz.

Kevin O’Connor recently talked about what Markkanen could bring to the team.

“Lauri Markkanen is one of the types of guys that if I’m the Spurs, I’m like, ‘Yes, sign me up. Bring me Lauri Markkanen.’ Because of the shooting ability and everything he does on ball, off ball, motion, movement, passing. Like Lauri Markkanen fits anywhere, and he brings exactly what the Spurs need with his shooting ability in the front court, so that’s where I kind of come down with. I think they need to trade in part because of the lack of shooting,” O’Connor said.

It’s easy to see how Markkanen would assist the Spurs.

He has developed his skills a lot during his last few seasons with the Utah Jazz, and averaged 23.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists during his three years with the team.

He has been stuck with a team that is floundering at the bottom of their conference, and fans constantly wonder what he could do with a better squad.

But just because the Spurs might someday have an eye on Markkanen doesn’t mean they’d get him.

If the Jazz decide to finally loosen their grip on the 28-year-old forward, numerous teams will jump up and try to get him.

The Spurs would be in the mix with a lot of competition, because he could bring huge help to everyone.

Victor Wembanyama Could Shake Up NBA With New Physical Mark

San Antonio Spurs Media Day

Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is hoping to get better in 2025-26.

He may or may not be a better player, but he will be a taller one.

According to Michael Wright, Wembanyama is now listed as 7-foot-4 for the new NBA season.

Last season, he was 7-foot-3, which means he has somehow grown another inch over the summer.

This could help his reach, his game, and his team.

The Spurs are now listing Victor Wembanyama as 7’4, per @mikecwright.

He was 7’3 last season.

— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) September 29, 2025

The Spurs were already wildly excited about Wembanyama’s upcoming season, but this makes things even better.

Last year, he averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, and a league-high 3.8 blocks per game.

He was well on his way to winning his first Defensive Player of the Year award, but deep vein thrombosis got in his way, and he only participated in 46 games.

Since leaving the court, he has spent his time getting better, working on his body, and preparing his mind for the new year.

He has had a busy summer and has traveled all over the world and met with a few NBA icons, such as Kevin Garnett.

Wembanyama is clearly preparing to have his best season yet.

It’s unclear how he grew another inch, but he is a young man at only 21 years old, so it isn’t that crazy to see him sprout up more.

He already had incredible reach on the court, but now it’ll be even better.

Hopes were high for Wembanyama last season, but they are even higher this time.

With a taller frame and better health, he could be on his way to an All-Star appearance, Defensive Player of the Year, and more.

Victor Wembanyama Drops Bold Claim About His Offseason Work

Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs has taken this summer very seriously.

He has been all over the globe, meeting with different people and trying new techniques of training in order to be a better player.

He thinks it’ll all pay off in the 2025-26 season.

Speaking of what’s ahead, Wembanyama summed up how hard he’s been working.

“I can assure you no one has trained like me this summer… I’m so much under control and my conditioning is better. What I have done this summer is world class,” Wembanyama said.

This is a threat to the rest of the NBA, because Wembanyama thinks he’s about to get better and raise the already-high bar that has been set for him.

Wembanyama has met with former NBA icons like Kevin Garnett, spent time with monks, and focused on improving his phyiscal and mental states.

All of this is paving the path for what may be his best season yet.

He was already great last year, but a physical problem got in his way and wasn’t able to play for the full season.

But he has worked his way through that and has seemingly gotten even better.

This is nothing but great news for the Spurs, who have been waiting to turn a corner and actually compete in the West.

With these improvements from Wembanyama, as well as new recuits like De’Aaron Fox, there is good reason to believe in the team.

The better Wembanyama is, the better the squad will be.

He has worked hard this summer, and now it’s time to see if it’ll pay off.

Victor Wembanyama Gets Honest About Working With Celtics Legend

2025 NBA All-Star - Practice & Media Availability

(Photo by Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images)

Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs has done a lot during his summer break, traveling the world and meeting with some very important people.

He raised a lot of eyebrows when he hung out with Kevin Garnett, the 15-time All-Star, champion, and Hall of Famer.

Speaking to the press, Wembanyama talked about what makes Garnett so special and what he gained from their time together.

“[Working with KG] was super interesting. He’s got a very unique perspective on relationships with teammates, opponents, even refs and media. He’s very smart emotionally. He’s got this energy but knows how to channel it and use it for the best,” Wembanyama said.

When Wembanyama and Garnett were spotted together, everyone wondered how it would change things.

Would the Spurs star come into the new season with a different attitude, more aggression, and a desire to get into the face of his opponents and even the refs?

Throughout his career, Garnett was not afraid of sharing his opinions, loudly and sometimes brashly.

That doesn’t seem like the sort of player Wembanyama is, since he’s usually a quiet and reserved player.

But he’s young and looking to expand his horizons, so maybe he’s open to modeling his game after Garnett’s.

It’s very obvious that Wembanyama is trying to add to his tool bag and become a bigger, stronger, more strategic player.

He has spent his time off wisely, and it should pay off in the new season.

That is exciting for all Spurs fans, because they have been waiting for this team to reach the next level.
