David Jones-Garcia just impressed a lot of NBA fans with his performance in the Summer League, and now he will make his home with the San Antonio Spurs.

On Wednesday, Shams Charania reported that Jones-Garcia has agreed to a two-way contract with the Spurs.

During the Summer League, he has produced an average of 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on 53 percent from the three-point line.

Last season, Jones-Garcia played for the G League team, the Mexico City Capitanes.

But his work in the Summer League is what really stood out, and that’s why he is walking away with a two-way deal.

According to some reports, Greek EuroLeague team Olympiakos offered Jones-Garcia a deal, but he declined it, hoping to make a name for himself in the NBA instead.

Although he was surely hoping for a more long-term deal with a team, this two-way contract gets his foot in the door and could pave the way for a bright future in the league.

Now, the Spurs will be able to use him in regular-season games or ship him down to their G League affiliate.

The Spurs have options, and Jones-Garcia is happy to help them and earn his keep.

If he continues to play like he did in the Summer League, Spurs fans might see a lot of Jones-Garcia.

And if he doesn’t, he could move down to the G League, and he might not make many appearances in 2025-26.

NBA Insider Has Honest Admission About De’Aaron Fox’s Contract

San Antonio Spurs v Sacramento Kings

De’Aaron Fox envisions a long-term future with the San Antonio Spurs and just signed a four-year, $229 million maximum contract extension with the franchise.

That’s a huge move for both Fox and the Spurs, but not everyone thinks it’s the smartest one.

Writing on social media, Kevin O’Connor revealed his thoughts on the deal.

“I don’t love this for the Spurs. Fox is not a max level point guard on any team, and in San Antonio he has overlapping skills with Castle and Harper,” O’Connor posted on X.

With this choice, it has been made clear that the Spurs view Fox as a crucial part of their plans moving forward and see him as someone nearly as important as Victor Wembanyama.

But is he?

As noted by O’Connor, Fox is a player who has overlapping skills with both Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper.

So, San Antonio is paying a lot of money for a player who is often redundant on the court.

Fox played 17 games for the Spurs last season after coming over from the Sacramento Kings.

During that time, he averaged 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists.

It’s not a question of Fox being bad, because he’s not, but people wonder if he’s really worth all this money since other players can fill the same role as him.

When he was planning his move from the Kings, rumors said Fox only wanted to come to a team that wished to have him for a long time.

He wants stability and a future, and he definitely wants that with the Spurs.

It seems like they want it too, no matter what some critics feel about their choices.

Victor Wembanyama Links Up With Celtics Legend

2025 NBA All-Star - Practice & Media Availability

Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is about to start his third season in the NBA, and he wants to prove something.

Of course, he has already proven so much, but he has his sights set on getting even better.

According to Hoop Central, Wembanayama and NBA legend Kevin Garnett have been hanging out and seemingly training together.

What does this mean for Wembanyama and the Spurs in 2025-26?

Wembanyama produced 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and a league-high 3.8 blocks per game last season.

It was the second year in a row that he led the entire league in blocks.

Sadly, he was only able to play in 46 games because of a health issue, but the Spurs say that has been resolved and he will be ready to start when the new season kicks off in the fall.

Wembanyama has been productive in the summer, traveling and getting his body and mind in a good state.

Working with Garnett might add some aggressiveness to his game.

During his years in the league, Garnett was always known as a tough fighter, someone who would go toe-to-toe with anyone.

Wembanyama is a gifted star, but he isn’t a player who gets in the face of his opponents often or becomes too physical.

Maybe that will change in the new season.

Or perhaps Garnett is just giving Wembanyama advice about how to stay healthy and driven.

After all, Garnett is one of the most iconic players of his generation, and he found great success.

He has plenty of lessons to give Wembanyama, and the Spurs star has shown that he’s someone who values education from other experts of the league.

Victor Wembanyama Receives Top-Tier Rating In 2K25 Stat

San Antonio Spurs v Washington Wizards

Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs has improved his offensive skills over the last two years, but it’s his defensive prowess that has consistently blown people away.

He is doing things that no one can, and an important rating from NBA 2K26 proves that.

According to Basketball Forever, Wembanyama is the only player in the video game with a 99 block rating.

There is a reason why he secured such an impressive number: he really is that good.

— Basketball Forever (@bballforever_) August 10, 2025

During his first season in the league, Wembanyama produced 3.6 blocks for his Spurs.

That was more than anyone else in the entire NBA.

But he did even better during his second campaign, averaging a league-high 3.8 blocks.

That’s two years in a row when Wembanyama has outdone the rest of the NBA with his blocks, which says a lot.

There is no doubt that he’s a defensive powerhouse, someone to be reckoned with, and a player who can get in the way of just about anyone.

With that being said, Wembanyama is getting even better with his offense.

In his opening season, he put up 21.4 points, but bumped up to 24.3 points in his second year.

So, his defense has been incredible since his first game, but his offense is improving too.

With a clean bill of health and a stronger team around him, the expectations are high for Wembanyama in the new season.

If his first two seasons are any indication, people have every reason to believe that Wembanyama will continue to deliver.

His defense is quite literally second-to-none, but he is a dynamic and explosive two-way player.

Kelly Olynyk Has Decided On His Jersey Number With Spurs

New Orleans Pelicans v Los Angeles Lakers

Kelly Olynyk has been moving around the NBA a lot over the last few years and most recently played for the New Orleans Pelicans.

But he was on the move again this summer and ended up with the San Antonio Spurs.

Now he has chosen the jersey number that he will wear with the Spurs.

According to Etienne Catalan, Olynyk will have the No. 8 on his back during his first season in San Antonio.

— Etienne Catalan (@EtienneCatalan) August 12, 2025

Last season, Olynyk produced 8.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists on 50.0 percent from the floor.

He played for both the Toronto Raptors and the Pelicans, appearing in 44 games total.

He got his start in the NBA years ago with the Boston Celtics and spent four seasons there.

After that, he was with the Miami Heat and then the Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, and Utah Jazz.

Now he will be with the Spurs, but it’s not clear how long the 12-year veteran will be there.

He will be part of the frontcourt rotation along with Victor Wembanyama, Harrison Barnes, Luke Kornet, and Jeremy Sochan.

The Spurs have been trying to build a strong team around Wembanyama, and Olynyk could contribute some important plays off the bench.

With his years of experience and the many teams he has played for, Olynyk could be a helpful vet.

The Spurs’ goal is to be a playoff contender next season.

They are tired of falling short, especially with a generational talent leading the way.

Olynyk is just one of the assets they have added to bring more potential to the team.
