Cam Taylor-Britt has had an up-and-down season so far. Mostly down.
And now we know why his head coach decided to bench him for his poor play in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos.
While Taylor-Britt had injured his hamstring on September 17, this demotion was not related to that injury.
Bengals CB Cam Taylor-Britt was effectively benched against the Broncos, coach Zac Taylor said. CTB’s limited snaps were not injury-related.

CTB was outmatched on a lot of plays, as Denver’s offense looked as good as it has all year. Bo Nix, who had been one of the worst QBs in the league, made a number of big plays at the corner’s expense.

As a result, Taylor-Britt only saw five snaps. DJ Turner played every defensive snap, while Josh Newton and Dax Hill played 64 of 81 snaps.
#Bengals snap count thoughts:
Was an 11P game. Chase/Higgins/Iosivas nearly all game with Gesicki top TE.
Big uptick for Myles Murphy, most snaps at DE.

We’ll see if Newton can help limit more big plays than CTB. But the main problem for the Bengals is on offense.
For the team to have any chance against the Detroit Lions, they will need Ja’Marr Chase to take over against a Detroit secondary with some missing pieces.
