The New York Yankees have reportedly agreed to a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates that would sent pitcher A.J. Burnett to Pittsburgh in exchange for right-handed reliever Diego Moreno and outfielder Exicardo Cayones.

Burnett went 34-35 in 3 seasons with the Yankees with an ERA of 4.79.

Sources also said that as soon this deal is done, the Yankees will begin searching for a veteran designated-hitter. Raul Ibanez was mentioned by sources, because he could also be used in the outfield, if needed.

Not too surprised by this. Burnett just hasn't been doing too much for the Yanks.

Lots of interesting things happening in baseball lately...I like it!

This guy really didn't do that great with the Yankees. I think he's still a good addition to the Pirates though. He should fit in well. Also, he's going to be back in the National League now! First time playing in the National League since his time spent with the Marlins.
