This is somewhat old news, but how do you guys feel about the Olympic committee deciding to drop wrestling as an event in the Summer Games?

I honestly can't believe they did it. It was, after all, one of the original events in the Greece games hundreds of years ago. And besides that, wrestling can be genuinely fun to watch. It's a lot more exciting and entertaining than people make it out to be.

Thoughts?

Maybe it just didn't have enough backing, or something to that effect... but yeah, that's kind of odd that they would drop it as an Olympic sport.

Well it's one of the most violent sports and somewhat barbaric. Yes it was originally from the Greek games but do our athletes do the games naked like the Ancient Greeks? No we don't. Neither is it men only. Like everything the Olympic games are evolving. I think with all the other fighting sports there is no need for it.

I was sad to hear the news, but then again I guess there's some warnings to watch out for like steroid use, and how much it costs to even run it.

It did not bother me as im not a wrestling fan but it would of been different to see it in the olympics

I don't think they should drop it. Wrestling has been around for so long, I think they should keep it. Personally, I think they should leave it in the summer games since it started in the Greece games so long ago. If they don't like it, that's no reason to get rid of it.
