The White Sox named Robin Ventura their new manager. He was signed to a multiyear deal. He played for the White Sox in his career and has no coaching experience, but has been around baseball for a long time.

Thoughts?

I'm interested in seeing him coaching. I don't think they have made a very good choice though, it seems to be an experiment. I suppose all coaches start somewhere, but I don't think they should start in the MLB. :P

I remember playing against teams with Robin Ventura on them on a few of my older video games.

Yeah it will be interesting. But I think he will do fine. I don't think he will be a champion in his first season, but it will come. They didn't want to get someone high payroll, which I think is the big reason they didn't go get Francona. And they didn't want to wait till after playoffs, so they didn't wait for Larussa.

Well... When are they gonna sign another White Sox, Geez I'm glad my Marlins got Ozzie Guillen though.

Hmmm....this is hard to say how this move will turn out...guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Right now, as a Twins fan, I'm liking this move....

Ozzie, You should, He's a rookie Manager so he is bound to make mistakes. Your Twins are gonna need the help. They had 100+ losses I believe.

He was a Third Baseman. He had a few gold gloves there too.
