What's your opinion on all the news swirling around about Johnny Manziel? What's your opinion on the guy?

Personally, I think he needs to focus on playing football and less on what he's doing outside of football because I think that's getting him into too much trouble. Of course, if it was good publicity that he's getting then I would say that he was using it to boost himself and get himself a better chance of being drafted into the NFL. But I think all the publicity he's getting now is bad publicity and it's hurting him.

I think Johnny Manziel is a great football player, but maturity has definitely been an issue ever since he got the Heisman. No one was sure how he would handle all this publicity now, and so far, things have not gone very well for him. At the same time, he has people hating him for things that are common in common. The media is not being fair to him in that sense, but that's what he gets for being Johnny Football. I still think things are going to be fine for him though. He is going to figure out how to deal with the publicity.

I pretty much agree with you.

Some people don't know how to deal with the publicity and some ending up falling apart under all the scrutiny. I don't wish that on anyone and I hope that doesn't happen to him, but it does happen to some people and he needs to be careful that it doesn't happen to him.

I was watching Sports Center and they were discussing how they thought he needed to be disciplined and that somebody needs to get a handle on him. Well, I say that someone should have been disciplining him a long time ago, it's almost seems too late to start doing it now. They've let him go throughout the entire off season without disciplining him and look at all the shenanigans he's caused because of it. I just think someone should have gotten a handle on him a long time ago, that's all. It almost seems pointless to start now.

I think he's a great player and he could benefit from focusing more on the sport instead of outside activities. His outside activities are affecting his playing ability, not only by getting him in trouble, but by performance. He needs to get his act together and play the game.

teg, I have to agree with you as well. He SHOULD get his act together and play the game. The question is, will he? Because like I mentioned earlier, what's the point in disciplining him now when he's already acted out all this time? They should have disciplined him from day one. Not after letting it go on for a couple of months.

That I agree with. I think that coaches and the NFL are too lenient on their players. Sure they are there for entertainment and they get paid a lot of money, but as you said, they should have started the discipline when it all started. They need to set an example and make an example out of people like this. Just an opinion though.
