It is absolutely amazing sport. What first captured your interest on hockey?
I went to a local game (in Scotland) Dundee Stars v Fife Flyers. We had some friends staying over and there was no football (soccer) to go to, so we thought we would try something different. We didn't even know anyu of the rules, luckily there was a kind fan sitting behind us patiently explaining every blow of the refs whistle.
As time went on the score was 4-4 near the end of the 3rd set. Here comes the 'only in a movie bit'
with less than 5 seconds left the Stars scored the winner. That was us hooked.
Even started watching the NHL on the TV. On Channel 5 and ESPN here in the UK.
I became a Ducks fan after some banter at work with a Red Wings fan and started putting on bets with her the year the Ducks won the Stanley Cup. Needless to say I was happier and richer!
