Steve Kerr Shuts Down Concerns About Al Horford’s Shooting Slump

Al Horford of the Golden State Warriors is one of the most respected and accomplished big men currently in the NBA.

But right now, Horford isn’t a huge help to his team.

He is in the midst of a pretty significant shooting slump, and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke about it on Wednesday night.

Kerr admitted that Horford isn’t shooting well, but urged the star player to keep trying.

“Just gotta keep playing. I thought Al played a great basketball game tonight. The ball didn’t go in. He took all the right shots. They all looked good. They’re going to go in. He’s Al Horford. We know what kind of shooter he is. Slow start for him, to be expected, honestly, when you go to a new team. I’m not worried about Al at all,” Kerr said.
Al Horford is 5-of-24 from 3 six games into his Warriors tenure. He missed all seven tonight.

It’s good that Kerr isn’t worried about Horford, because some fans are.

On Wednesday, he produced zero points, although he was good for seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

The silver lining for the Warriors is that the team typically has a strong offense, which means they have other options if Horford is ice-cold.

But they definitely want him to find his shot as soon as possible.

When he was signed by the team, fans were excited to see how he could dominate in the paint and assist off the bench.

However, they also envisioned him as a strong offensive threat, too.

It’s only been a few games, and Horford has plenty of time to get on the right track.

But the Warriors want a string of consecutive wins, so the sooner he starts shooting well, the better.

Kevin Durant Fires Back At Draymond Green For Championship Remarks

Los Angeles Clippers v Golden State Warriors - Game Five

There was a time when Kevin Durant and Draymond Green were teammates, helping the Golden State Warriors become the best squad in the NBA.

Today, they are playing for opposing teams and sometimes butting heads.

Durant recently said that a team’s offense wins championships, and that didn’t sit right with Green.

He fired back, stating that defense is incredibly important when it comes to claiming a title.

Durant responded, once again sticking to his opinion that offense is vital.

“And the offense was????” Durant posted on X.
And the offense was???? https://t.co/SV6zo7dSUp

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) November 4, 2025

This is a conflict that may continue for some time, because these are two NBA players who aren’t afraid of stating their minds and sharing their opinions, no matter who it upsets.

Durant was a crucial part of the Warriors from 2016 to 2019.

During that time, he helped them win two championships and was named Finals MVP during their back-to-back title runs.

He was a sensation on offense during that time, averaging 25.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists.

But there is no doubt that the Warriors won their championships because both their offense and defense were strong.

They wouldn’t have claimed their Finals wins if they weren’t delivering on both ends of the court.

In the years since his departure, Durant’s relationship with the Warriors has been complicated, to put it gently.

There have been rumors of him not being happy with the team, and rumored trades that would have sent him back to Golden State have been shot down.

This latest back-and-forth with Green is sure to fire up speculation and rumors about Durant, the Warriors, and their legacy.

Steve Kerr Reveals Potential Return Timeline For Stephen Curry

Phoenix Suns v Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors were able to move past the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night, and they did it without Stephen Curry. Curry was out due to illness, but it didn’t prevent the Warriors from claiming an impressive 114-83 win over Indiana.

The good news only gets better for Golden State, because head coach Steve Kerr spoke about Curry after the game and said he should be back soon.

“We’re expecting Steph to be back Tuesday,” Kerr said.

The Warriors got by just fine without Curry, with players like Jimmy Butler, Will Richard, Brandin Podziemski, Quinten Post, and others producing double-digit totals for the team. But it’s important to note that the Pacers are one of the worst squads in the league and hold a dismal 1-9 record.

Things won’t be so easy in the days ahead because the Warriors are set to play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night. That game will likely be one of the toughest of the year, and it’ll be followed by matches against the San Antonio Spurs, New Orleans Pelicans, and Orlando Magic.

The Warriors obviously want Curry back as soon as possible, especially because he is averaging 26.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists on 45.4 percent from the field during the 2025-26 season.

The Warriors are now above .500 with a 6-5 record, but they have their sights set on climbing even higher in the standings before the season is done.

This year has been filled with good and bad so far, and the Warriors want to put together a long string of wins in the upcoming weeks. With Curry back and healthy, that is far more likely.

Sunday night’s game was a morale boost for Golden State, and their morale should be lifted even more when Curry is suiting up again.

Jimmy Butler Sends Message To Warriors After Tough Loss To Thunder

Los Angeles Clippers v Golden State Warriors

They were playing against the reigning champions, so everyone knew it would be a tough game, but the Golden State Warriors‘ loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night was still painful. It was made even worse because it wasn’t even close.

Following the 126-102 defeat, Jimmy Butler spoke with the press and revealed what his team has to do moving forward. He said it starts with honesty and accountability.

“We’ve just got to get back to doing whatever it takes to win. Everybody is going to have to sacrifice something. I can’t tell you what that sacrifice might be for every individual. It may be different for every individual every single night. But we’ve got to get back to winning is the main thing, the only thing. It’s going to be up to the collective, as a group, to figure out what is needed to win. Everybody has to be honest with themselves,” Butler said.

— Joseph Dycus (@joseph_dycus) November 12, 2025

Sacrifice is a huge part of a team’s success, so it’s not surprising to hear Butler say that his Warriors will have to focus on that. They have lost three of their last four games, and it’s clear that they aren’t performing at the level they want to be.

It seemed like none of Golden State’s big names could get it going on Tuesday night. Butler chipped in with 12 points, which was only one bucket behind Jonathan Kuminga, who led the way with a meager 13.

Meanwhile, Steph Curry was back after some time on the bench due to illness, but he could only contribute 11 points. Everyone knows that when Curry isn’t feeling like his regular self, the Warriors are in trouble.

Now it is time for head coach Steve Kerr and his team to take a look at what went wrong and what they can do better moving forward. Their next games will also be tough because they face the San Antonio Spurs twice on the road this week as they continue their six-game road trip.

Moses Moody Had Huge Career Night On Sunday

PHOENIX, ARIZONA - NOVEMBER 22: Moses Moody #4 of the Golden State Warriors during the second half of the NBA game at Footprint Center on November 22, 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Golden State Warriors waltzed to a 124-106 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night, and it was Moses Moody who led the way.

As noted by Anthony Slater, Moody reached a career high during that game, scoring 32 points in 33 minutes. He also made seven three-pointers during the first quarter alone and was 10-of-16 from the field overall.

“Moses Moody just hit a new career-high: 32 points in 33 minutes tonight. He made seven first quarter 3s, eight total and is 10/16 FG overall,” Slater posted on X.

Moody’s input was greatly appreciated because Steph Curry was only able to chip in nine points. However, Jimmy Butler was more helpful with his 18 points and 10 assists.

Moody is now in his fifth season with the Warriors and is averaging 13.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists during his 13 games. Clearly, his work on Sunday was a huge step up from that and led the way to an easy victory.

The Warriors are the seventh seed in the West right now, but they are hoping to climb up from that. But so far this season, they have faced some unfortunate losses as well as an injury to Curry.

The team seems to be figuring itself out still, and performances like this one from Moody will help them find their identity moving forward. For the majority of his career, he has mostly filled the role of a bench player, but Moody could get more time in the starting five if he is still producing numbers like these.

The Warriors will wrap up their six-game road trip over the next few days with games against the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. They are hoping to see more work like this from Moody during those matches.

Stephen Curry Makes Historic Move In All-Time Scoring Ladder

Houston Rockets v Golden State Warriors - Game Six

Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors might be getting older, but that doesn’t mean his legendary skills are dwindling. One thing is always certain: Curry can shoot the ball better than just about anyone.

On Tuesday night, Curry earned another place in league history. He officially passed Vince Carter for the 22nd most points in all of NBA history.

— Golden State Warriors (@warriors) November 19, 2025

Curry achieved this massive accomplishment during his team’s game versus the Orlando Magic, when he put up 34 points and nine assists on 12-of-23 from the field and 7-of-15 from the three-point line. Unfortunately for Curry and his Warriors, that wasn’t enough to get past the Magic, and Golden State fell 121-113.

But even with that loss, Curry was still looking wonderful, and he was reminding all Warriors fans why they are so happy he’s still in the league. He has been playing for 16 seasons, but there is still no one else quite like him.

He already has the most three-pointers of all time, but Curry is also in the record books for other things, too. And as he continues to play, he will keep climbing up the historic rankings.

As great as all that is, Curry has made no secret of his desire to win at least one more championship before he hangs up his jersey for good. So far this season, the Warriors have had their fair share of ups and downs, so claiming another title this year is in doubt, but this should never be counted out entirely, especially when Curry is playing so well.

Insider Links Warriors To 2 Big Man Targets At Trade Deadline

Denver Nuggets v Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors made a few adjustments to their roster over the summer, but it seems that they aren’t as fully-formed as they’d like. That means they could be pursuing even more changes in the months ahead.

According to Evan Sidery, fans should keep an eye on certain big men across the league as the trade deadline draws closer. In fact, there are two names to consider right now.

Writing on social media, Sidery said that both Anthony Davis and Domantas Sabonis have been floated around as potential targets for Steve Kerr’s team.

“The all-in Warriors will be a team to monitor ahead of the trade deadline. Golden State needs to take another big swing on the market to vault into legit contender status. Anthony Davis and Domantas Sabonis have been floated around in league circles as potential trade targets,” Sidery posted on X.

The Warriors already acquired one big man during the offseason when Al Horford came to Golden State after his stint with the Boston Celtics. So far this season, Horford has produced 5.7 points and 4.1 rebounds.

Horford is 39 years old and not creating like he used to, so it only makes sense that the Warriors would want more power in the frontcourt. Both Davis and Sabonis are ideal fits for the team.

They are playing for under-performing teams, and there have been plenty of rumors about them leaving for greener pastures. The Warriors would have to part ways with some talent to make a trade for either, but it could be worth it.

As the season continues, Warriors fans will be paying close attention to the situations around Davis and Sabonis. If their teams keep deteriorating, trades could be even more likely.
