FOXBOROUGH — Members of the Patriots may not be watching the Jets on HBO’s “Hard Knocks,’’ but they will see them up close Sept. 19. And there will be plenty of eyes on that game after what happened yesterday.
During Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s weekly paid appearance on WEEI, he was asked if he has watched “Hard Knocks’’ this season.
“Honestly, I haven’t turned it on,’’ he said. “I hate the Jets, so I refuse to support that show. I’m sure it’s great TV. I’m glad people are liking it. But that’s just something that I have no interest in watching. I’d love to say a lot of mean things, but I’d rather not do that, either.’’
After the Jets practice, coach Rex Ryan said, “He already knows that we hate the Patriots, so what’s the difference?
“My brother [former Patriots linebackers coach Rob Ryan] has got a couple of Super Bowl rings [with New England]. He loves Tom Brady. But I don’t have them, so I don’t like Tom Brady. I respect him, but I don’t like him.’’
