Titans vs. Chargers opening odds: Yep, double-digit underdogs again

Each week, we look at the opening odds for the Tennessee Titans. Each week, they are a double-digit underdog. This week, they are a 10.5-point underdog at home against the Los Angeles Chargers over at FanDuel Sportsbook. That number isn’t big enough. I wouldn’t bet the Titans at anything less than +21.5.

The Chargers come in here with a record of 5-3. They are in second place in the AFC West, which is one of the best divisions in all of football. They are coached by Jim Harbaugh, whom the Titans reportedly didn’t want to interview when they hired Brian Callahan. I guess they didn’t want another coach with a strong personality coming off of Mike Vrabel. Good call there.

It is getting increasingly tougher to find things to write about when it comes to the Titans. I keep hoping they will turn a corner and actually have a chance to win a game other than the miracle they pulled off against the Arizona Cardinals. That certainly hasn’t happened yet.

Titans Reacts Survey Week 9

Morale is in the tank for Tennessee Titans fans. We all know that. Again, if you are going to vote that you are confident in the direction the Titans are headed, please leave a comment as to why. I just can’t see it.

Since the season is over, we turn our attention to the 2026 NFL Draft. The Titans have a ton of needs. To me, the two biggest are at EDGE and wide receiver. This week, the question is, which need is bigger between the two? There is an option in there to vote other if you think they have a bigger need. There really is no wrong answer here.

On Roger McCreary, young CBs who will replace him, trade value, who’s next

The Tennessee Titans traded cornerback Roger McCreary to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday. They received a fifth-round pick in exchange for a sixth-round pick. The fanbase reacted as expected. We’ve compiled some thoughts, including the fallout.

Many complained about the pick-swap. Surely the Titans would have preferred to acquire an additional selection as opposed to settling for a swap, but the return represents decent value. The Titans will receive the Rams’ highest fifth-round selection and send back their lowest sixth-rounder. That should improve their original selection by roughly 45-65 spots. That’s 45-65 real prospects. That’s not insignificant.

McCreary was never going to net the Titans a fourth-round selection or higher. He’s a good player, but he’s a role-specific defender at a non-premium (nickel corner) position with size/physical limitations on an expiring contract. You can debate whether the Titans should have retained McCreary and signed him to an extension, but only delusion would lead to believe he was netting a significantly better return.

McCreary will probably demand somewhere between $10 and $15 million on a multi-year extension this offseason. The Titans are slated to possess a league-leading amount of cap space and could absolutely have signed him to that deal if they wanted to. Instead, Mike Borgonzi and Chad Brinker didn’t view him as a necessary long-term solution, so they preferred an improved draft pick instead.

The argument against the McCreary trade is asset management. The Titans already have a lengthy to-do list to attack this offseason. McCreary is a starting-caliber player. Borgonzi and Brinker will only possess so many opportunities to improve a lackluster roster this offseason. They’ve added another to-do item to the list.

Sixth-round cornerback Marcus Harris should be the biggest beneficiary of the McCreary deal. The expectation is Harris will be the new slot cornerback. Borgonzi and Brinker drafted him, whereas they inherited McCreary and Jarvis Brownlee from previous regimes.

The Titans need to find out if Harris is a solution. They also claimed Micah Robinson off the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad. Robinson is intriguing. He was drafted by the Packers and made their initial 53-man roster. The former Tulane standout ran a blazing-fast 4.38 40 during the pre-draft process. Perhaps we should stop ourselves from getting excited after Jalyn Armour-Davis and Samuel Womack have turned out so disappointingly.

The decision to trade McCreary could indicate Chig Okonkwo is next to depart before the deadline. Like McCreary, Borgonzi/Brinker inherited him from a previous regime. They’ve shown no interest in extending his expiring contract, and also drafted Gunnar Helm.

Potential landing spots for remaining Titans trade candidates

The Tennessee Titans traded Roger McCreary to the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week. Mike Borgonzi and Chad Brinker would probably like to trade a few more players before the NFL trade deadline (November 4). We’ve identified some potential landing spots for each realistic candidate.

Calvin Ridley, WR​

Will the Titans find a taker for Calvin Ridley? His current hamstring injury complicates discussions. Ridley has really struggled this season, but he’s still a 1,000-yard receiver with bounce-back potential in a better offense. We wouldn’t consider a trade likely. – Potential landing spots: Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos

Tony Pollard, RB​

Tyjae Spears has outperformed Tony Pollard in recent weeks. Pollard feels like a potential cap casualty this offseason as the Titans look to upgrade the running back spot with a younger, more explosive player. Multiple teams could enter the market for a proven veteran ball-carrier. – Potential landing spots: New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers

Arden Key & Dre’Mont Jones, EDGEs​

The EDGE market kicked off on Monday when the New England Patriots traded Keion White to the San Francisco 49ers. It also removed the 49ers as a potential landing spot for Arden Key and Dre’Mont Jones. Key’s injury downgrades his chances of being moved, but Jones is peaking near the deadline, with three sacks in the previous three games. – Potential landing spots: Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Patriots, Buffalo Bills

Chig Okonkwo, TE​

Chig Okonkwo has shown legitimate chemistry with Cam Ward in recent weeks. He’s also on an expiring contract, and the current regime drafted Gunnar Helm. The Titans should consider re-signing Okonkwo, but after the McCreary deal, a trade feels likely. – Potential landing spots: Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Kevin Zeitler, IOL​

The Titans have to weigh possibly trading Kevin Zeitler versus how that impacts Ward’s protection. Zeitler has been decent, maybe even slightly below expectations, but the backup situation would certainly be worse, though it’d give the Titans a chance to find out more about Jackson Slater. Zeitler is on an expiring contract, making him a candidate to move. – Potential landing spots: Buccaneers, Lions, Seattle Seahawks

Jeffery Simmons and Calvin Ridley won’t practice for Titans Wednesday

Tennessee Titans interim coach Mike McCoy said at his Wednesday press conference that both Jeffery Simmons and Calvin Ridley will miss practice on Wednesday. McCoy said last week Simmons would be week-to-week with the hamstring injury he suffered in the loss to the New England Patriots. I’d be surprised to see him on the field this week.

Ridley has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury he suffered three weeks ago against the Las Vegas Raiders. There is probably a better chance for him to play than Simmons. Hopefully, he can get some work in at practice this week. The Titans would probably like to be able to trade him before Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. That becomes a little easier if he is on the field against the Los Angeles Chargers.

McCoy also said that Xavier Woods, Blake Hance, and Dan Moore, Jr. will be held out of practice today. We will get official designations on those guys when the practice report is released later today.

NFL power rankings week 9 and the Titans

Here we go again. It’s Tuesday, and that means we take a look at where the Tennessee Titans rank in the NFL power rankings. It’s week nine already. In some ways, it feels like the season just started. In other ways, it feels like this season has been going on for three years. Maybe that’s because the Titans have been stuck in this loop for that long. How much longer will it last?

A look at where the Titans rank in various power rankings around the internet:

ESPN: 32

Chimere Dike has been a bright spot in an otherwise dismal season for the Titans. The 2025 fourth-round pick leads the league in all-purpose yards, thanks in large part to an NFL-high 991 return yards. Without top receiver Calvin Ridley (hamstring) for the past two weeks, Dike has led the team in receiving yards. His seven receptions for 93 yards against the Colts were both career highs. He and quarterback Cam Ward have spent increased time together in the film room to improve their chemistry. — Turron Davenport

The Athletic: 32

The 2025 No. 1 pick is 35th in the league in EPA per dropback (minus-0.21). Only Jake Browning is worse among qualifying quarterbacks, and the Bengals traded for Joe Flacco to keep from playing Browning. It’s unfair to blame Ward for the Titans’ struggles, but it’s getting so bad that it’s going to be hard to bounce back from this.

So much for firing Brian Callahan and bringing life to this team. This group is a mess right now, and it doesn’t matter who is coaching.

The Titans are simply terrible and, with a sell-off expected, it might get worse before it gets better. But don’t look know: Cam Ward has actually looked promising the past three weeks.

The Titans have been outgained in every game this season. Their one win was a ridiculous fluke. The offense is the worst in the NFL and the defense is bottom five or six. Every loss has been by eight or more points. They’re very lucky they got that one win because there might not be another.

Titans rule out four starters

The Tennessee Titans are outmatched against pretty much every team in the NFL at full strength. Well, this week they will be without Jeffery Simmons, Calvin Ridley, Xavier Woods, and Arden Key for the game against the Los Angeles Chargers. That’s pretty brutal.

The Los Angeles Chargers currently rank fourth in the league in yards per game. They will probably move up to first after the game. Think about it, the Titans are without the three corners they started the season with, plus Simmons, Key, and Woods. You’ve seen that meme on Twitter Who’s going to stop this offense, right? Well, the meme for the Titans’ defense would be Who’s this defense going to stop?

Ridley will miss his third straight game with a hamstring injury. His name has come up in trade talks over the last few weeks. I’m sure Mike Borgoniz would love to get something for Ridley before next Tuesday. That still could happen, but it would have been a whole lot easier had Ridley been able to play this week.

Titans news: Trade rumors abound

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday. The Tennessee Titans have already traded cornerbacks Jarvis Brownlee and Roger McCreary. There are certainly more moves to come. It would be nice if guys like Arden Key and Calvin Ridley were able to play this week because they could have some value. Their injuries don’t make it impossible to trade them, but I’m sure the job would be easier if Ridley could go 8/104/2 and Key could get a sack or two against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Titans vs. Chargers open game thread

First off, let me say, hats off to any Tennessee Titans fans who are going to the game today. They are calling for around 50 degrees and rain at kickoff. Sitting in miserable weather to watch a miserable team takes serious commitment. The Los Angeles Chargers are not one of those teams that have a fanbase that travels well. There might not be 20,000 people at the stadium today.

The only thing left for us to watch this season is the development of Cam Ward and his young pass catchers. Ward has played better the last few weeks. Chimere Dike has stepped up as a legitimate deep threat. It’s funny how that happens when a coaching staff lets a player who runs really fast run really fast down the field instead of just throwing him balls at or behind the line of scrimmage. Gunnar Helm has shown flashes of being a playmaker. Elic Ayomanor has been solid as well.

With Jeffery Simmons out again, we can probably all just switch to Redzone while the Titans are on defense.

5 observations from the Titans’ Week 9 loss to the Chargers

The Tennessee Titans were defeated 27-20 by the Los Angeles Chargers in Sunday’s Week 9 game at Nissan Stadium. The 1-8 Titans are still tied for the worst record in the NFL. We’ve conjured up five observations following yet another lopsided defeat.

Chimere Dike is special​

Rookie wide receiver and special teams returner Chimere Dike makes game-changing plays weekly. Dike housed a punt return for a 67-yard touchdown. The former Florida Gators standout has a legitimate shot to be All-Pro and a Pro Bowler in his first season.

Bo Hardegree is a bad play caller​

The Titans offense consistently got cute and went backwards. On one particular third-and-1 near midfield, Cam Ward motioned out and Tony Pollard took a wildcat carry. He lost yards on the play, but Elic Ayomanor was whistled for a holding penalty that made it 3rd-and-11. A JC Latham hold made it 3rd-and-16. Had the Titans just ran a standard rushing play on third-and-short, they likely would have converted. They ran two more failed wildcats throughout the second half, meaning they went 0-for-3 on silly playcalls.

The defensive line balled out​

In-game injuries left the Chargers shorthanded across the offensive line. Dennard Wilson’s defensive line took full advantage. Dre’Mont Jones recorded a sack for a fourth consecutive game. Sebastian Joseph-Day, Jihad Ward, James Lynch, and T’Vondre Sweat were also disruptive. It was a notable performance with Tuesday’s trade deadline looming large for several of these players on expiring contracts.

Offense fails to take advantage​

Linebacker Cody Barton gave the Titans an early advantage through an excellent pick-six touchdown. The Dike special teams touchdown arrived later that half, spotting the offense their first 14 points. Despite that, a disconnected offensive effort failed to take advantage and win the game.

Elic Ayomanor bounces back in second half​

Ayomanor dropped a nice Ward throw on the offense’s opening play from scrimmage. Later during the first half, the rookie pass-catcher out of Stanford lacked urgency on a route, failing to get out of his break before Ward released the ball in his direction. Ayomanor bounced back during the second half, recording three receptions for 48 yards on one possession. He’s been a mixed bag since Dike emerged and Calvin Ridley went down injured.

Should the Titans keep Dre’Mont Jones instead of trading him?

The Tennessee Titans are expected to be aggressive sellers at Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline (Nov. 4). One of the players long-rumored with a potential deadline move is EDGE Dre’Mont Jones. His situation may be more complicated than initially meets the eye.

Jones was signed to a one-year contract by new GM Mike Borgonzi earlier this offseason. He was added to help a depleted pass-rushing room. And after a slow start to his campaign, Jones has come alive in recent weeks.

Jones recorded 1.5 sacks against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9. It marked his fourth consecutive week with at least one sack. Jones has now totaled 4.5 QB takedowns after failing to register one in Tennessee’s opening five contests. He was also credited with a season-high seven pressures by Pro Football Focus.

Jones is a 29-year-old veteran on an expiring contract. That makes him an ideal candidate for the rebuilding Titans to trade him in exchange for draft-pick compensation. Then again, Borgonzi has shown interest in trading players he inherited from previous regimes, such as Jarvis Brownlee, Roger McCreary, and Kenneth Murray, Borgonzi himself signed Jones, which means he fit his vision of the Titans.

Furthermore, Femi Oladejo is the only notable Titans pass rusher under contract through next season. Oladejo only qualifies as “notable” because the Titans drafted him in the second round this year. They can’t rely on him to be overly productive given his lackluster outputs before landing on IR. Jones, Arden Key, and Jihad Ward are all on expiring deals.

Borgonzi needs to revamp the EDGE room this coming offseason, but how much can be achieved in one summer? Jones is performing well enough right now to warrant a legitimate conversation about keeping him and extending his contract. If the Titans keep receiving such contributions from Jones, he’d be an asset to the 2026 team.

Dre’Mont Jones praises Titans Cam Ward after trade to Ravens

In case you missed it earlier tonight, the Tennessee Titans traded Dre’Mont Jones to the Baltimore Ravens. The Titans received a conditional 5th-round pick. The pick they received initially belonged to the New York Jets, so it should be a pretty high pick in the 5th.

Jones had a nice message to the Titans on the way out the door that included some praise for Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward:

The NFL is too crazy lol. Thank you Titans family I loved and appreciated my short time in Nashville too much. Cam is the truth too y’all give ‘em time, he can be great!

It has been an up-and-down season for Ward, but it is good to hear that the guys in the locker room still believe in him.

Jones ended up being a good signing for the Titans. He signed a 1-year $8.5 million dollar contract this offseason. They got 4.5 sacks from him in the last 4 games and turned that into at least a high 4th-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. They should try to get him back on a similar deal next year if he is open to it.

The NFL trade deadline is tomorrow, November 4th, at 3 PM Central. The Titans will probably make a few more moves between now and then.

Amy Adams Strunk “unwilling” to trade with Patriots

There is a report today from Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal that the Tennessee Titans are unwilling to make any trades with the New England Patriots because Amy Adams Strunk doesn’t want to help Mike Vrabel. AAS has said that she is not going to be involved with the football decisions, but if this report is to be believed, she remains very much involved with the decisions to the detriment of the team. That’s not really surprising given her history.

The article mentions Arden Key, Calvin Ridley, and Tony Pollard as players the Patriots could be interested in acquiring. None of those three guys is a part of the long-term plan for Mike Borgonzi to rebuild this roster. Cutting off communications just because of Vrabel hurts the Titans’ potential to add draft capital towards that end. It makes no sense. Again, not surprising that something AAS is doing makes no sense.

Eddie George said that AAS had really set the franchise back with her decisions. She continues to do so.

The NFL trade deadline is today at 3 PM Central. The Titans have already dealt Jarvis Brownlee, Roger McCreary, and Dre’Mont Jones, but they only picked up one pick in those three moves because the deals for Brownlee and McCreary both involved sending a pick the other way.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that the Tennessee Titans are sending EDGE Dre’Mont Jones to the Baltimore Ravens for a conditional fifth-round pick that could become a fourth-round pick. The conditions for it to become a fourth-round pick were not included in the original tweet. It is good to see a trade that does not involve a pick swap. The Titans actually added a pick this time.

Of the players that are likely to get traded before tomorrow’s NFL trade deadline, Jones might be the most valuable. He has really been playing well lately, with 4.5 sacks in the last 4 games. I can’t remember the last time the Titans had that kind of production.

Jones joins Jarvis Brownlee and Roger McCreary as players traded from the Titans on the defensive side of the ball. They might not be done on that side of the ball yet with rumors swirling about both Arden Key and T’Vondre Sweat.

The NFL trade deadline is a 3 PM Central tomorrow.

Checking in on the Titans win total

The Tennessee Titans’ preseason win total was 6.5. I’ll be honest, I felt good about that. The Titans had the number one overall pick quarterback with a lot of promise coming in, and they had an offensive head coach who was going to tailor the system to fit him. They also had a revamped offensive line that was going to be able to protect him, and a weapon on the outside in Calvin Ridley. Winning 7 games was going to be no problem.

Cut to November. The coach has been fired. The quarterback has been up and down. The offensive line is starting to play better, but overall has still been bad, and Ridley struggled to catch the ball before going down with a hamstring injury. The Titans hit their bye week at 1-8.

Our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook are pretty confident the Titans will win another game. They are -800 to go over 1.5 wins. I do think they will find another win, but you would have to be insane to bet it at that number. The most interesting number to me is under 2.5 wins at +140. If I were going to put my hard-earned money on the Titans, that is where I would put it.

Titans GM Mike Borgonzi gives reasoning behind Jarvis Brownlee trade

Tennessee Titans GM Mike Borgonzi met with the media this morning to wrap up the 2025 NFL trade deadline. He gave a pretty long opening statement about the state of the team and the moves they made at the deadline. Part of his opening statement was addressing the Jarvis Brownlee trade.

Borgonzi was very complimentary of Brownlee, but did say there were some things, like accountability and attention to detail, that didn’t fit the culture the Titans are trying to build. So basically Borgonzi confirmed the speculation that was out there.

My question would be, is a player who has shown the ability that Brownlee showed not worth keeping around and trying to work with him on those things? You are talking about a second-year corner who started and played pretty well as a rookie. This team isn’t really in a position to be casting off talented players for any reason, really, but especially just because of those reasons that are listed.

It would be one thing if that was starting to bleed over and be a problem with other guys on the team, but it doesn’t sound like that was the case with Brownlee.

So, now we know the reasoning behind the trade. Does that make you feel any better about it? It doesn’t for me.

Titans Reacts Survey Week 10

The Tennessee Titans ended up making two trades* around the NFL trade deadline, sending Roger McCreary to the Los Angeles Rams and Dre’Mont Jones to the Baltimore Ravens. They netted one pick in those two deals. I was hoping they would be able to add more picks, but at the end of the day, they could only make the deals that were available to be made.

This week, we have both the standard confidence question and the question of whether or not you approve of what the Titans did at the deadline.

*I don’t consider the Jarvis Brownlee trade a deadline deal because it was done so far in advance. It was also a dumb trade.

Titans need Femi Oladejo to get healthy and produce now more than ever

The Tennessee Titans traded outside linebacker Dre’Mont Jones to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday in exchange for a 2026 conditional fifth-round pick that could become a fourth-rounder. Jones’ departure leaves the Titans thin at EDGE. The rebuilding team needs rookie EDGE Femi Oladejo to get healthy and start producing.

The Titans did not trade Arden Key prior to Tuesday’s deadline. Key has been sidelined for multiple games, but should return to action in Week 11 versus the Houston Texans. The expectation is that he’ll start alongside Jihad Ward in base defense following Jones’ departure.

Oladejo is currently on IR. So is depth pass rusher Ali Gaye. Jaylen Harrell has been the top rotational pass rusher for the Titans in recent weeks. Interior defensive lineman James Lynch has earned a handful of snaps outside.

Oladejo suffered a fractured leg injury in the Week 6 defeat to the Las Vegas Raiders. Oladejo was placed on IR shortly thereafter. He’s eligible to return following the Week 11 Texans game, but there’s no guarantee he’s back after the four-game minimum. HIs injury was serious enough to carry a 6-8 week rough estimate.

But Oladejo’s injury wasn’t considered season ending. Now that Jones has been traded, Oladejo’s production is even more imperative. Not necessarily because the Titans are still trying to achieve anything notable in 2025. The Jones trade means he’s unlikely to be in Tennessee next season (he could technically sign with the Titans as a free agent), creating another guaranteed position in the pass-rushing rotation.

Oladejo had recorded zero sacks and seven pressures before landing on IR. His pass-rush-win-rate was a disappointing 4.9%, according to Pro Football Focus. Jones (11.5%), Ward (10.7%), and Key (8.9%) have all had significant better outputs.

Hopefully Oladejo can return at some point this season. The Titans need Oladejo to produce like a long-term solution at EDGE.

4 Titans who need to play a bigger role after the Week 10 bye

The Tennessee Titans are on their Week 10 bye. Interim head coach Mike McCoy and staff must take advantage to assess their lineup decisions. At 1-8, the Titans are in fact-finding mode down the stretch. They need to continue offering young players opportunities to prove themselves as future solutions.

We’ve identified four Titans in particular who must play larger roles throughout the second half of Tennessee’s campaign.

Gunnar Helm, TE​

Gunnar Helm has been consistently productive when targets are thrown his way. The former Texas Longhorns standout has registered 20 receptions for 187 yards and one receiving touchdown. He’s an athletic pass rusher who’s improving as a blocker.

Helm had one target in Tennessee’s last contest, converting it to an acrobatic 15-yard diving catch. The Titans need to get him more involved. There’s room for Chig Okonkwo and Helm to be productive together.

Marcus Harris, CB​

Marcus Harris is seemingly the new nickel cornerback following the Roger McCreary trade. The sixth-round rookie played 28 defensive snaps in Week 9. That accounted for 43% of Dennard Wilson’s defensive snaps.

It was a positive debut for Harris. That’s considering a matchup that placed him in coverage against Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen. The Titans need to find out if Harris is their nickel corner of the future.

Kevin Winston Jr., S​

The Titans have eased Kevin Winston Jr. into the lineup. The third-round safety is finally healthy after suffering a setback in last year’s partial ACL tear recovery. Winston has played 21 and 26 snaps in consecutive games.

The Titans possess little incentive to play Quandre Diggs and Xavier Woods. Mike Borgonzi needs to learn if Winston is the long-term partner for Amani Hooker at safety. The ceiling remains high on Winston, who the Titans possessed a second-round grade on.

Chimere Dike, WR​

It feels straightforward that Chimere Dike will continue playing a sizable role. He’s having an All-Pro season on special teams. He’s listed because the Titans must keep developing him at wide receiver.

Dike saw three measly targets in Week 9. He was not consistently targeted in the passing game when Calvin Ridley was healthy, and Ridley appears primed to return in Week 11. Dike’s explosive ability must remain at the forefront of McCoy’s offensive gameplan.

Grading the Titans’ 3 trade deadline deals

The Tennessee Titans did not make a move during Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. From September to early November, general manager Mike Borgonzi made three separate deals involving players and draft-pick compensation. With the trade deadline now officially over, we assigned letter grades to each Titans deal.

Dre’Mont Jones to the Baltimore Ravens for a 2026 conditional 5th-round pick

This fifth-round pick originally belonged to the New York Jets. It’ll become a Ravens fourth-rounder if Jones records two sacks in Baltimore and the Ravens make the playoffs. Jones was a temporary solution on an expiring contract, so Borgonzi scored quality value in this agreement. Grade: B

Roger McCreary and a 2026 6th-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams for a 2025 5th-round pick

Roger McCreary was also on an expiring contract. Borgonzi obviously didn’t view the nickel cornerback as part of his long-term roster rebuild plans. Titans fans debated the former Auburn corner’s value and wondered if the rebuilding roster would have been better off re-signing him. The late-round pick swap for McCreary should improve the Titans’ selection by approximately 25-45 overalls. Grade: C+

Jarvis Brownlee and a 2026 7th-round pick to the New York Jets for a 2026 6th-round pick

This trade occurred in September, but it felt strange to omit from this exercise. The Titans’ decision to trade Brownlee remains mind-boggling. He’s played well as the Jets’ nickel corner, and might be their top cornerback following the stunning Sauce Grardner trade. The Titans obviously disliked Brownlee’s culture fit under Borgonzi, but the draft-pick return for an ascending young defender was nonexistent. Grade: D

The Titans failed to move Chig Okonkwo, Arden Key, Tony Pollard, or Calvin Ridley. All four are potential offseason departures, with Key and Okonkwo on expiring deals, and Pollard/Ridley as maybe cap casualties. Jeffery Simmons and T’Vondre Sweat were also mentioned in deadline rumors. It was ultimately a tame deadline day for the Titans.
