The 2011 MLB World Series is set, and will begin Wednesday. It will be the Texas Rangers versus the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals will have home field advantage as the NL won the All-Star game.
Rangers: The Rangers have had a great postseason, and are in the World Series for the 2nd straight year. Last year they choked in the World Series, and they didn't look like the same Rangers team we saw all season. This year, they hope it will be different. They come into the World Series with much momentum, after beating the Rays 3 games to 1, and the Tigers 4 games to 2.
Their offense really came alive in the ALCS including 6 homeruns from ALCS MVP Nelson Cruz. C.J. Wilson will be pitching game 1.
Cardinals: The Cardinals have been hot since September, when the came all the way back from 9 games back to win the Wild Card over the Braves. They then beat the best team of the regular season, The Phillies, 3 games to 2 in the ALDS. They then beat the Brewers in 6 games, and have tons of momentum too. They have been powered by the NLCS MVP Freese, and Pujols's hot hitting in the clutch.
The Rangers vs Cardinals will be a great series, and it's impossible to pick a favorite. Both teams are hot, and I expect it to be a long series. My prediction: Rangers win in 6 games.
