The curse of Irene:
The Red Sox were on cruise control on 8/27. They were leading the Yankees in the AL East by 1.5 games, and leading the Rays in the Wild Card by 8.5 games.
Then Irene hit.
It is now 9/25, almost a month later. Since Irene, the Red Sox have gone 6-19, and are now 9 games behind the Yankees, and just a half game ahead of the Rays in the Wild Card.
If the next 4 games are anything like the last 25 games, the Red Sox will not make the playoffs.

Coincidence? I think not.

Coincidence? I think so.
Excuse? Yes. :P

If Michael Vick played next week, and stunk. Would they call it a curse?

No, he broke his hand, of course he's not gonna play well.

Kinda the same thing with the Sox, their area was hit with a flood, it's gonna affect them for a while.

It's not a curse, they're just recovering.

I am in love with this new curse, The Curse of Irene. Hopefully, it will last as long as the Curse of the Bambino did, maybe even longer. :P

Maybe :P I'm not a huge Red Sox fan, so I am fine with it... But I wish it happened to the Yankees.

I actually like the Yankees better than the Red Sox. I just naturally hate the Red Sox, always have, always will. I actually have a bit of respect for all the Yankees organization has accomplished. I don't think it's fair that they have such larger salary budgets, but it is what it is.
