Two costly injuries with two of the best players in the playoffs. Stephen Curry will be out for at least two weeks with a sprained MCL. Fortunately the warriors are up 3-1 in the series against Houston, and should be able to close it out. Sadly for the Clippers Chris Paul broke his hand in tonight's loss, and will be out indefinitely. The winner of each of these series plays each other. I think the Blazers just might upset the Clippers now without Chris Paul.

It's definitely a hard-knock for the Warriors. It's hard for any team, but the Warriors are trying to make a case for one of if not the best team ever. Hard to do that without the main contributor.

What if the '96 Bulls lost MJ in the first round? Crazy stuff.

I was thinking that it was going to be the West that was the better one to watch but the East is turning out to be more competitive. All the injuries just keep piling up and we are not going to get to see these guys at full strength, which is a shame. I hope that Curry can get back out there, but it seems like the Clippers are done for, at least from what I have heard. Maybe LeBron can actually take care of business this year.

That's true. The Bulls wouldn't have that championship, or the other ones without him. The Warriors I think are a better all around team. Without Curry they can still win games, but a championship might be a stretch. He still has a chance to make it back in the playoffs though. If Lebron and the Cavs get a championship there will always be a big asterisk next to it. People will criticize him because Curry was out with an injury.

The Warriors are just way to good. There is a reason their slogan is 'strength in numbers'. They have weapons at almost every position. To beat the Spurs or Cavaliers they'll probably need him, but they should easily coast by Portland without. I'd sit him anyways just to make sure hes totally healthy.

^^ Would they criticize them though. After all, lets remember the Warriors championship came against a team without Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, karma rearing its ugly head?

More times than not, I have seen injuries actually determine the fate of the playoffs and sometimes even the NBA finals.  It is super important to keep your team healthy, but naturally, this is an extremely physical sport, particularly at this level of play.  Therefore, injuries are inevitable.  I think the most important thing for any team is to have and continually develop a good second and third string instead of constantly relying on their superstars without having a very good back up plan.  The real problem is that most teams spend a large chunk of their money securing these superstar players that demand superstar money.  So much so that it is hard to have enough left over to keep a really good second string.  Plus, these players don't often get a lot of league playing time when the star are healthy unless the game is a complete blow-out or the stars need a little rest here and there.  Also, many of these team-dominate players are also team leaders in a morale sense and when they get a serious injury, it seems as though the entire team feels a bit dejected.
