The Steelers signed defensive back Doneiko Slaughter and offensive lineman Lorenzo Thompson to reserve/futures contracts on Tuesday, the team announced.
Slaughter went undrafted in 2025. He scored a 6.67 RAS ahead of the draft, running a 4.38-second 40-yard dash at 6’0, 190 pounds. Playing college football at Tennessee and later Arkansas, he had a reputation of delivering highlight-reel hits.

Slaughter spent training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but didn’t make the team’s roster or practice squad. He returned one kick on college and saw some special teams reps over the summer.
Thompson went undrafted in 2024, spending some time with the Cleveland Browns. He played college football at Rhode Island, where he was a multi-season starter at left tackle. The 6’7, 295-pound lineman scored an 8.66 RAS ahead of the draft. He’s also appeared at guard for the Browns, although he’s yet to play in a regular season game.
Two things that are fairly consistent with #Browns new UDFA Lorenzo Thompson:
1. How quickly he explodes out of his stance and gets into his pass sets.
2. How incredibly swift and active his feet are. This clip is a great example of it. He's just back there dancing around and… pic.twitter.com/M5cYGu6JJH
