Stargazing, A Dallas Stars Puckcast – Episode 301: Doom Cast 2025

Welcome to Stargazing’s annual celebration of the signal pastime of true Dallas Stars fans: obsessing over every bad turn the season takes. And even we have to admit, the Victory Green Gang’s scheduled loss to Thatcher Demko sure did set this one up. For the 2025 Doom Cast, Wes and Mark pull out all the stops. From the gaps at left wing, to the lack of depth at goalkeeping, to why the best…

Stars Start Season With Three Divisional Wins In A Row

The Dallas Stars kicked off their home opener Tuesday night with a 5-2 win against the Minnesota Wild. The team started the festivities early with their annual Green Carpet Walk, where fans got the chance to grab a picture or an autograph from their favorite players. A few hype videos and light shows later, the crowd welcomed the Stars back onto the ice. A familiar face appeared behind…

Good moooooorning, Dallas Stars fans! The Stars finally bring the regular season home tonight — so let’s get started on the news of the day: The Dirty Central ate big last night: The home opener schedule is right here (and reminder: The Victory Green Carpet Walk takes place outside the arena, so you don’t even need a ticket to enjoy it).

Dallas Stars Daily Links: Thursday, October 23

Welcome to another game-day Thursday — let’s check in on the Dallas Stars news. It’s also difficult not to notice the current gaps in the lineup. Will the cavalry arrive tonight? And it’s sobering to think that the injury situation could still be worse. The Stars still support the Mavericks. Pretty wholesome, as the kids (used to) say.

Stars lose in overtime to LA Kings

Fresh off three consecutive losses, the Stars came into American Airlines Center with something to prove. They only got halfway there. Another slow first period ended scoreless for Dallas, but fruitful for Los Angeles. A series of penalties from Mikko Rantanen and Ilya Lyubushkin left the Stars three on five against the Kings. Corey Perry, who played for the Stars in 2019…

Stargazing, A Dallas Stars Puckcast – Episode 302: Net Positive

Four Dallas Stars scored last night! Unfortunately, two of them were playing for the Los Angeles Kings. That left Our Team with one point, another loss, and a lot to contemplate. We here at Stargazing acknowledge our fault in this, mainly by making this season’s Doom Cast so much longer than…well, every other cast we’ve done so far. In this episode, Wes and Mark pull back a little.

Dallas struggles, loses 5-1 against Columbus

The Stars came home Tuesday night hungry for a win against the 2-5 Blue Jackets. Instead, Dallas found themselves down 2-0 in the first period with only five shots on goal in response. Columbus kicked off scoring early, when forward Adam Fantilli caught Jake Oettinger at a bad angle and slipped the puck past his glove side. The Stars’ response was not strong enough.

Hi fellow Stars fans! I’m so happy to be (finally) back this season at Defending Big D, and hanging out with you for another daily thread. It’s been a crazy October for me personally, and the boys in Victory Green are probably feeling the same. It’s trick or treat season around here, people. Let’s get into it. Dallas Stars beat Washington Capitals 1-0

It was Halloween night at American Airlines Center, and the Stars certainly spooked the Capitals. Dallas logged its first shutout of the season with a strong showing of defense and goaltending that left Washington without an answer. While it may not have been the most exciting game, it marks an important Stars win that came from doing the little things right. “I think that was the most…

Dallas Stars Daily Links: Wednesday, October 29

Happy Victory Wednesday, Dallas Stars fans! Let’s take a look at what’s out there: Things are getting nasty between the Dallas Stars and Mavs front offices — and the lawsuits are flying. Lia Assimakopoulos has the story of withheld revenues, breach-of-contract accusations, an “attempted hostile takeover” of the AAC, and other disenchanting developments. As you can probably…

Tyler Seguin grateful for journey as 1,000th NHL game looms

Early Tuesday morning, Tyler Seguin stood on the ice with Wyatt Johnston practicing faceoffs. Seguin won some, then Johnston took a few. The pair scooted off to the side when the next duo of Stars took center ice for their turn. Seguin immediately grabbed a puck and began to give Johnston some pointers. The 33-year-old forward demonstrated leg positioning and stick maneuvers for the 22-year…

Happy Halloween, Stars Fans! The first month of the season is in the books, and the Stars sit at 6-3-2 with 14 points. That’s two points off first place – a three way tie between Winnipeg, Utah, and Colorado (though Colorado’s is slightly less impressive with four OT losses). It’s been a trick-or-treat first month (yes, I promise I’ll stop with that bad joke officially tomorrow)…
