Soccer: Same Players, Different Managers and Different Results: How can that be explained?

We have seen this cycle in many soccer teams. A particular manager would really be struggling with getting results for the team. They would play and lose matches in streaks with poor performances.

And the manager is sacked and replaced with another manager. The new manager would use the same players to win matches in streaks with strong performances.

How can this be explained? What could possible have changed with the new manager?

Every soccer manager has the way they setup teams. That determines the positions that players play and the formation of the team. It might be that the new manager is able to set up the team to bring out the strength of the players at his disposal. And that is why the team might be doing better.
