As athletes get older, especially when they get into their 30s, they are less valuable to the team. But they still get paid more than they did previously when they were at their best. Do you believe it's ok for athletes to be overpaid at the end of their career because of how they performed earlier, or should their salary decrease as their value decreases?

I hate the concept of pay per years of veterancy. They should be paid according to their skill and contribution. Then again, that's the teams decision to make.

I also think younger players should be paid more if they make a bigger impact. Now, some rookies are making $400k a year int he NFL and making the Pro Bowl when some veterans make $10 million and are obviously on the decline. Then again, the players are part of unions that negotiate these standards.

Players should be paid according to their contribution and impact to the team, not their age. I've heard about old players that are willing to take a cut to keep playing for the team, but if they're still the best player on the team then I don't see any necessity for them to take a pay cut. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is way above 30 years old now but he's still among the best strikers in soccer nowadays, so I don't think paycheck should be based on someone's age.
