Sharks at Stars game 29: Lines, game thread and how to watch

Tonight is another response game for the San Jose Sharks after the absolute walloping the team took at the hands of the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night. The Sharks are on the road, which should help with team bonding. The real question is, how will San Jose respond to another tough NHL contender? The last time the Sharks were in this position was about a week ago…

Quick bites: Sharks star struck in Dallas

The San Jose Sharks put forward a better effort but were unable to come out with a point in the team’s visit to Dallas on Friday night. Despite plenty of opportunities, the Sharks could not find the back of the net and lost to the Dallas Stars 4-1. While the score makes it seem like a lopsided effort, it was a much closer game for most of the night. The score was 1-0 Dallas after the first…

Sharks at Hurricanes game 30: Lines, game thread and how to watch

The San Jose Sharks’ road trip continues as the team hops all the way to the East Coast with a stop in the Carolinas. The Sharks are in Raleigh to visit the Carolina Hurricanes in another tough test of the team’s mettle. The Sharks have already played host to the Hurricanes, a 5-1 loss on Oct. 14 at SAP Center. Alex Nedeljkovic was in the net for that one and William Eklund scored the Sharks lone…

Quick bites: Sharks weather Hurricanes’ third period push, win 4-1

Successful teams in the NHL, obviously, need to win more than they lose. That’s how they climb up in the standings. However, it starts by limiting the losing streaks and that’s something the San Jose Sharks have figured out how to do early in this 2025-26 season. Other than that tough start that began with two tough losses that could have been wins if the puck had bounced just a little differently…

Misa, Ravensbergen invited to Team Canada WJC camp

Two San Jose Sharks prospects (?) were invited to Team Canada’s World Junior Championship camp ahead of the tournament. Michael Misa, who is technically a current San Jose Shark on loan to the AHL Barracuda, was invited to join the team’s camp after last year’s mysterious snub. Then there’s Joshua Ravensbergen, the goaltender who looks to have made it into the third spot on the list.

Sharks at Flyers game 31: Lines, game thread and how to watch

The San Jose Sharks are looking to string together some wins and that can start with a strong show in Philadelphia. The Sharks’ road trip continues this afternoon with a visit to the Philadelphia Flyers. This is the first and only visit to the City of Brotherly Love for the Sharks this season (barring a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals, of course). The Sharks are fresh off of Sunday’s 4-1 win over…

Quick bites: Flyers soar past Sharks

This season continues to be one of ups and downs for the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks have figured out, so far, how to stave off strings of losses. That’s a step in the positive direction. However, stringing together those wins is still something that eludes the team. After the Sharks’ 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, forward Ryan Reaves summed it up the best. ”Win one, lose one…

Sharks at Maple Leafs game 32: Lines, game thread and how to watch

The San Jose Sharks’ next stop is Toronto where the team takes on the Maple Leafs for stop number four on the road trip. The Leafs have seemingly found a bit better footing in the last few weeks after a tough start to the season and have now worked their way into the playoff picture. That said, Toronto (14-11-4) has a pretty big hole to dig itself out of, and currently sits 7th in the wild card…

Sharks Kling to late chances for a win in the Six

As is always the case when a team comes to Toronto, there were storylines to follow before the puck was even dropped. Sam Dickinson, who grew up a Montreal Canadiens fan in Toronto, had approximately half the population of the city in attendance. The trade over the Summer that brought Ryan Reaves to the Sharks and sent Henry Thrun to the Maple Leafs came full circle last night…

Sharks at Penguins game 33: Lines, game thread and how to watch

The San Jose Sharks are in Pittsburgh today for a day game against the Penguins. The big story is the move the Penguins just made in the net, trading the team’s top goaltender to the Edmonton Oilers for the Oilers’ top netminder. On Friday, it was announced the Penguins acquired Stuart Skinner, defenseman Brett Kulak and Edmonton’s 2029 second-round draft pick for goaltender Tristan Jarry and Sam…

Quick bites: Sharks roar back in Pittsburgh to 6-5 overtime win

The San Jose Sharks did something today that no other Sharks team has ever done. Down 5-1 in the third period, the team overcame a four-goal deficit to not just tie the game, but win it, something that no other Sharks team in the history of the franchise has done. Of course, that’s in part because the stacked teams of the past never would have gotten themselves into such a predicament in the first…

Smith, Kurashev injured; Cardwell, Chernyshov recalled

The San Jose Sharks will be without two key forwards for at least the next few weeks. The team placed Will Smith and Philipp Kurashev on injured reserve earlier this week because of injuries they suffered during Saturday’s game in Pittsburgh. Kurashev went hard into the boards in the second period. While it was a Penguins’ influenced play, it wasn’t necessarily dirty.

Flames at Sharks game 34: Lines, game thread and how to watch

The San Jose Sharks are back home after a road trip that started out bumpy, but ultimately ended successfully with a winning record. San Jose will have to bring that momentum into SAP Center tonight against the Calgary Flames. The Flames are on a short, two-game road trip on the West Coast. Calgary beat the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 in overtime on Saturday thanks to Dustin Wolf, who stopped 21 of…

Quick bites: Sharks put out Flames 6-3

The Sharks did not ease into the game, did not feel their way through the opening shifts, and did not wait to see what Calgary brought with it. From the opening faceoff, the ice belonged to speed, pressure, and a team willing to play on instinct. The puck hit the ice right at 7:09 pm at the SAP Center. Not even two minutes had gone by, and John Klibngberg had a mission. With the help of…

Stars at Sharks game 35: Lines, game thread and how to watch

The Dallas Stars visit the San Jose Sharks tonight and the Sharks are looking for some revenge. The last time these two teams met was in Dallas and the Stars showed the Sharks what elite NHL teams do. Dallas smothered Macklin Celebrini and the Sharks, shutting down all offensive hope and then beating the Sharks 4-1. San Jose would love to get one back, this time in the team’s own barn.

Quick bites: A series of unfortunate events

Author’s note: I apologize for the tardiness of this quick bites. I went to the game, but have been under the weather and unable to finish it up. The San Jose Sharks managed to hang with the Dallas Stars and show that this team has some of the skill that it needs to play among the best in the NHL, but that finish isn’t quite there. The best teams in the NHL know how to negate mistakes…

Kraken at Sharks game 36: Lines, game thread and how to watch

The San Jose Sharks look to get things back on track tonight against the flailing Seattle Kraken. After a tough outing against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night, where the Sharks did a lot of good things, but could not get the win, San Jose has the chance to turn things around quickly. The Kraken are in the midst of a massive slump. The team has lost its last four games and won just one game in…
