Keep up with the latest on your Buffalo Sabres.

Keeping this paragraph as a starting point if this is your first time reading this series: We will be continuing our journey through this series looking at one team at a time to act as a trade partner. Please keep in mind this should not be viewed in the same way as a comprehensive GM for a day type of post where we are looking to completely overhaul the team in one fell swoop.

The NHL is taking their break for the 4 Nations Whoopitydoo Fest. A tournament that nobody wanted or asked for. That in itself should be a candidate for something that grinds my gears. (Shout out to Peter Griffin for this) Luckily for Gary Bettman, I had three other things in mind already. Things that irk, bother or quite frankly, piss me off in Sabre Land. Through the eyes of a disgruntled…

The Buffalo Sabres saw their four-game winning streak come to an end in somewhat inglorious circumstances as they allowed the Nashville Predators to end their own six-game losing streak in a defeat where they really were the better team for long periods. If only they could have got a meaningful save or two from Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. With the Four Nations Tournament now starting up… Source ...

In Part 1, I tried to make the case that GM Kevyn Adams has done what he had control over, and did a lot of it pretty well. (Quick positive recap: Good coach hire, development of guys is back on track, signed some strong key free agents. Quick negative recap: Failed inparts beyond his control like regression of young players, not signing a top 6 scoring winger, missing top right shot defender.

Why, you might be tempted to ask? Had the Sabres had a team meeting and decided they wanted to come out and…

The Buffalo Sabres will hopefully be back at full strength when the season resumes for them on Saturday, February 22nd. We will need to wait for confirmation from head coach Lindy Ruff for some players later this week. But it is expected that Jordan Greenway will make his long awaited return as well as Beck Malenstyn. That should really bolster the bottom 6 for Buffalo.

With the NHL’s 4 Nations Face-Off culminating this week in Boston, I wanted to do something a little different and combine the 4 Nations idea with the ‘quarter-century teams’ idea, and come up with what an all-time Four Nations team could look like if only Buffalo Sabres players/alumni were included. Is it ridiculous? Sure. Is it fun? Also sure. Let’s start with Finland.

Earlier today, we started with Finland. Now, it’s time to move onto Sweden. Again…

As the 4 Nations Face-off ends tonight in Boston with what should be a rousing game between Canada and the United States, we continue our attempt to put together an all-Sabres Four Nations roster. Today, we continue with Team Canada. This time, we’ve got a decent pool to select from: 370 Canadian-born players have suited up for the Sabres in their careers, so we’re able to make a full roster…

The 4 Nations Face-Off culminates tonight in Boston, MA, as Team Canada and Team USA square off in the championship game. Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson flew to Boston to act as a last-minute reserve player in case the American team needed him, but it seems like he will not be needed after all. Puck drop is set for 8 PM ET on ESPN, ESPN+ and Disney+. After tonight…
