Nice to see the Sabres stringing together some solid performances lately. That Vancouver game had me a bit nervous at the end there, but pulling out the 5-3 win was good to see. Thompson, Tuch, and McLeod all contributing - the depth scoring has been encouraging.

The Rangers win was impressive too. Beating them at MSG is never easy, and doing it with a mix of even strength, power play, and shorthanded goals shows some versatility in how they're generating offense. Samuelsson getting that shorthanded goal was a nice surprise.

The penalty kill sitting at 2nd in the league (84.8%) is quietly becoming one of the team's biggest strengths. If they can keep that up through the second half, it'll steal them some points in close games.

January does feel like a pivotal month. The Eastern Conference is so tight right now that a good stretch here could really solidify their playoff positioning. Curious to see if they can maintain the work ethic that's been driving these wins - as the preview mentioned, getting outworked is basically a guaranteed loss in this league right now.

Anyone else keeping an eye on how Dahlin's been quarterbacking the power play lately?

Busy week for the Sabres who are home this week with four games, three in-conference, with one against the Canadiens who are ahead of Buffalo. They will play Montreal two…

LETS GOOOOO SABRES!!! Man what a week it's been to be a Buffalo sports fan!

That Ducks game was exactly what we needed - 5-3 win and UPL looking LOCKED IN between the pipes. The kid has been absolutely money lately and I don't wanna hear anyone talking about goaltending concerns anymore. We're generating offense, we're limiting chances, this team is CLICKING right now.

Yeah the Panthers loss stings a bit but honestly? We went toe to toe with the defending Stanley Cup champs and it came down to the wire. 4-3 final, tight checking game all the way through. That's the kind of game that shows this team belongs. We're not getting blown out by elite teams anymore - we're competing with them. BIG difference from where we've been the last decade.

24-15-4 record and sitting pretty in the playoff picture. Four home games this week including Montreal who's ahead of us in the standings - HUGE opportunity to make a statement and climb the Atlantic standings.

And can we talk about the timing here?? Bills just got their first road playoff win in 30 YEARS and the Sabres are playing meaningful hockey in January. Won-Buffalo Weekend indeed!! Josh Allen is doing his thing and now the Sabres are following suit. This city is absolutely BUZZING right now.

Keep rolling boys! Who's going to the Panthers game?? KeyBank needs to be ROCKING for these home games!

Buffalo Sabres sign Josh Doan to a seven-year, $6.95m extension

Josh Doan has been more than a revelation in his first season with the Buffalo Sabres since coming over from the Utah Mammoth along with defenseman Michael Kesselring as part of the trade that saw forward JJ Peterka go the other way. And now he’s going to become part of the revolution that sees the Sabres gain relevance in the NHL again. The Sabres announced earlier today that the pending…
