Football will not be coming home in eight years time, after it emerged England had crashed out in the first round of voting and the tournament was instead awarded to Russia.

Some members of a grim faced England bid team, including Boris Johnson and Gary Lineker, retreated to the back of the hall as it emerged that England had been knocked out in the first round.

A late final lobbying push led by prime minister David Cameron, David Beckham and Prince William and a well received final presentation was not enough to avoid a humiliating exit and spark huge recriminations.

I think this is a disgusting decision, Russia don't deserve the World Cup to be hosted in there country! England have deserved it for many years since England was the country to invent football.
All in all, appalling decisions made by FIFA!

I think this is a disgusting decision, Russia don't deserve the World Cup to be hosted in there country! England have deserved it for many years since England was the country to invent football.

Where is that? That's a bad choice by FIFA....choosing a place that not many people have heard of.
 
It was all about money for FIFA! I personally think Russia don't deserve such an honour to be hosted in their country...
 
I will admit England deserved it as we have all the facilities because of Commonwealth games and what not happening. Where as Russia have nothing but money. Also Qatar are hosting 2022, I ain't ever heard of that country, taking it is in the middle east?
 
Yes it is, It's also filthy rich because of oil. Russia will fail to host the next World Cup properly because of the whole Mafia country thing. The last thing I would want if I was a player were the thoughts that I was gonna have my brains blown all over the goalposts.

Well this England fan is happy, now we can finaly leave FIFA and carry on proper football with out some idiot in Zurich telling us how to run our game.
