They are going go be announced at a press conference at 9ET. I am going to watch it live on ESPN and will post them when they come.

4year bowl ban
60million fine-endowment supporting victims of sexual abuse(1yr revenue from football)
10scholarships lost for 4year
all players allowed to transfer and play
all wins lost from 1998-2011 (record books will reflect)
5year probation
Athletic integrity agreement with big10 and NCAA.

Individual investigations/punishments may come after legal process done.
 
They got hit really hard. They're gonna have a tough go at getting back to where they were a few years ago...

I honestly don't think a death penalty is ever a just punishment, no matter how bad the crime.

rightfully so. I am actually disappointed their is no death penalty involved. I was hoping for a 4year death penalty at least.

personally i am not sure the NCAA could do enough about this. The issue goes way beyond football.

A death penalty would have punished the students that had nothing to do at all with the scandal, as most of them were in their early teens at the time. The 6 million fee was needed, as was everything else, including the statue being removed. But a death penalty would have been completely unwarranted.

I think Penn State would have preferred the death penalty over this. I quit following the Penn State scandal after Joe Paterno died, so I don't know what's been uncovered lately regarding this. Based on the information I know, I agree with all these punishments, but they do seem a bit harsh to me. I don't agree with them taking down the Joe Paterno statue though. In the sports world, they have statues of some legends that were just awful people. Take Ty Cobb for example. He was supposed to be an awful person and a murderer. Ray Lewis killed a guy as well, and you know he will have plenty of statues. Joe Paterno may have helped his assistant coach keep the pedophile incidents in the shower going, but is that worse than actually killing a human being? I think it all depends on your morals really. You could say that they emotionally killed many. Is emotionally killing many worst than actually killing one?
 
I think it's ridiculous that Joe Pa lost all those wins for something that he didn't do. 1st place on the record books is infinitely better than 8th place, and to do it after he died is disgraceful.
