Newton announced as Panther's starter

After the Panther's 33-17 loss to the Steelers last night, the Panther's head coach, Ron Rivera announced that Cam Newton would be the starter for week one.

Newton threw his first preseason TD against the Steelers last night.

Is this a good decision by Rivera?

Sounds like Rivera is speeding up the quarterback development process. We'll just have to wait and see if it's effective.

He's better then Clausen, but he has a lot of work to do to become great.

I think he's overrated, but he is a better QB than Jimmy Clausen.
