Is the Celtics downfall surprising to anyone? They're defense is getting sloppy, which was their coin as a team, so now they have to rely on outscoring the other team, and that's just not going to happen.

Unless Rondo averages 20-25 points per game with 10 assists anyway.

The Knicks have signed former-Nugget J.R. Smith, who was a teammate of Carmelo Anthony in Denver. Smith was playing basketball in China before he decided recently to return to the NBA.

To free up the space needed to sign Smith, the Knicks release forward Renaldo Balkman.
