NBA owners and players reached a tentative agreement early Saturday to end the 149-day lockout and hope to begin the delayed season on Christmas Day. Neither side provided many specifics, but said the only words players and fans wanted to hear. “We want to play basketball,” Commissioner David Stern said. NBPA president Derek Fisher and the players face an uphill battle. After a secret meeting earlier this week, the sides met for more than 15 hours Friday, working to try to save the season. This handshake deal, however, still must be ratified by both owners and players.

Wow, I thought this was going to go on forever. It's pretty funny that they start the season on Christmas Day.

Yes! I'm so glad all this crap is over. I was kinda surprised when I saw this though....the way things had been going, I didn't think there was any way we'd get it back this year.

It's about time though.

I'm so happy the lockout is over, the trade and free agency rumors are going to start to heat up the next couple days. Lets go Blazers!

I honestly think my Celtics should give AI another chance and sign him.

Wouldnt that be something if we won it this year and AI finally got his ring, although he'd play more of a reserve role.

Yeah, maybe they could sign T-Mac too since he's a free agent haha. The Blazers looking like they will sign Jamal Crawford which will happen even more if they release Brandon Roy with the amnesty clause which will be a sad day. :(

I actually had TMac on the Celts in 2K11. And I think he's still a Piston...

Cool. Well, that would be nice to have him on my favorite team considering he's probably my favorite NON-Celtic who hasnt retired, but AI as well, both former superstars trying to fit in a reserve role, uh oh. :P

I know, but if I were them I wouldn't sign two former stars past their prime. I would go and sign a future starter to come off the bench instead for them to help out Rondo in the future to build around.

Yea, but I just like the idea of TMac and AI getting their ring.

TMac could have been better than LeBron and Kobe but injuries held him back. Truly sad.
