Do any of you guys watch any Nascar? If so, who is your favorite driver?

I usually end up watching a few races every season, mainly because I get bored out of my mind on Sunday afternoons. Not sure who my favorite driver is...I guess probably Earnhardt Jr. or Mark Martin.

I rarely ever watch Nascar, but when I do, I root for either Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon, and Earnhardt Jr. is up there too.

I'm not sure why, but I was just kind of raised into liking Hendrick Motorsports.

I could never watch through a whole race. I can only stand watching when there's a crash, if that's not too wrong to say. :P

Speaking of wrecks, how about that crash 2 weeks ago where almost 30 fans were injured because the car wrecked through the fence. It was crazy!

Yeah, I still haven't actually seen a video of that. Heard about it though...pretty bad.

I heard about that... haven't seen the video yet, though. That would be horrible for those fans...

I have seen the video a few times. It was crazy enough to make my mouth drop. :o

Anyways, responding to the opening post, I do watch the highlights of NASCAR every once in a while, but that is it. I don't really have a favorite NASCAR driver, but I used to like Jimmie Johnson because his car was my favorite color a few years ago. I don't think the car is the same color anymore, though. :P

I don't really see the point of people driving in circles really fast and risking their lives. Formula One and Rally Driving are much better sports. I have watched the odd game though and have played some Nascar driving games which are fun until you're bored if going in circles.

NASCAR is fine by my standards. I don't sit and watch the whole race but I can maybe watch half of one while doing something else (such as posting on here)

I can sit and watch NASCAR for a while, but I don't watch it very often. My favorite driver would have to be Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Have you seen the crash at Dayton? That was enough for me to decide that the fans should never be close to these drivers. It's so risky. Yet, the pros handle it so well.

The only place where I really like nascar is in video games. Then again, I've always stuck to Need For Speed. :P

Yeah, I have seen the crash. It was intense. Honestly, it clearly isn't safe for fans to be close to the drivers, but realistically speaking, part of this risk seems to be what keeps fans going to the races. That may sound silly, but a lot of NASCAR fans love the intensity on the track, the vibrations of the cars, and more. That risk seems to be part of the experience of going to a race, in my opinion.
