This is basketball/music-related.

Metta World Peace recently asked Tech N9ne, my favorite rapper, to work with him on a song for his upcoming mixtape. The song is entitled "Point of No Return". It's a serious, retrospective track in which Tech and Metta share insight on what they've gone through and experienced in their past to get them to where they are today (Metta - world-famous NBA Champion, Tech N9ne - #1 Independent Rapper in the World). Now that they're where they are now, there's no going back.

Tech N9ne's verse was spot on (as usual for him). World Peace was surprisngly better than I expected, since most NBA players who attempt to rap are pretty terrible.

In case anyone is wondering who Tech N9ne is and why I regard him so highly, here's my post from my questionnaire thread:

If anyone's unfamiliar with him, he's an independent rapper who founded his own label and rose to the top--now #1 independent rapper in the world with over 1.4 million records sold...Without the help of any major labels backing. He's worked with some of the legends of the game, like 2Pac, Ice Cube, Scarface, Snoop Dogg, and even does rock songs (his new album features a collab with Slipknot and possibly A7X). Currently his label has 10 acts signed to his label.

As for his rapping style, Tech packs a versatile, insane flow, amazing multi-syllabic and complex rhyme schemes, an expansive and technical vocabulary, some of the fastest speed rap ever, and is one of the best lyricists of all time... Also, everything he raps about is REAL; it's meaningful, it's deep. It's not the crap you hear on the radio nowadays where it's meaningless and just the same old same old... Drugs, b*tches, money, etc (*cough* YMCMB *Cough*)

Another huge reason I like Tech so much is he and his fellow labelmates truly care about the fans... They release music seemingly nonstop (over 15 releases scheduled for this year alone) and they go on tours year round (the Hostile Takeover Tour of 2012 was a record-breaker with 99 shows in 90 days) to bring their music to all their fans across the US in sellout shows (and oversees, the Eurotech Tour was very popular as well).

That being said, I listen to around 200 other rappers regularly, and have many other favorites, but Tech is my overall.
