Evan Longoria took a right turn out of the Tampa Bay clubhouse and walked a few feet before stepping in front of a group of reporters huddled around a lineup board that will not list his name for the next four to eight weeks.

The three-time All-Star was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a partially torn left hamstring Tuesday. Replacing his bat and glove won't be easy.

Evan Longoria is on the disabled list again. He will by gone for four to eight weeks. This really sucks. He doesn't seem to be able to play a full season ever, no matter how awesome he is.

Big loss for them, but the Rays are still pretty good, as once he comes back will likely be in a pretty good state to still make the playoffs.

It also solved their issue of choosing between Luke Scott and Matt Joyce for a little while longer. They are both getting a bit more playing time. Before Evan Longoria's injury, the lineup card with them would change every game so it seemed, now Luke Scott seems to be locked in at the designed hitter position and Matt Joyce will be staying in the outfield for a little while longer. That's an optimistic point of view for me, anyways. Also, this is an opportunity to see some of the talent Durham has in store for us.
