I am right handed. My dad and brother are left handed.
Its always fun to try and do stuff with the other hand that you normally do with the other. The only thing that I'm really good at with my left hand is typing on a keyboard. Heck, after typing this I tried to take a drink of my water with my left hand and it felt so weird. I also drive with my left hand, so I guess its not completely useless xD
I am right-handed, however I do use my left hand for violin playing which for one makes typing easier on my left hand, and two, makes my left hand fingers more responsive and capable of moving quickly.
On the subject, I've been trying to do more things with my left hand, here and there. Things like brushing my teeth and what-have-you. Apparently that can help a lot if you're trying to become more ambidextrous.
I do envy ambidextrous people. I am right-handed, and during our PE class, when we have to dribble the ball in our right hand and then in the left, it was way difficult for me to do the left hand dribbling. I can't even do cross-overs because the ball slips on my left hand, so everyone gets the chance to steal the ball from me.
