The Los Angeles Lakers have fired their head coach, Mike Brown, after starting the season 1-4. This was his first season as head coach of the Lakers, and it only lasted 5 games.
Honestly, I probably would've waited a little bit longer and given him some more time. This firing actually does surprise me.
Sources said that some of the coaches the Lakers are chasing to replace Brown are Phil Jackson, Mike Dunleavy, Jerry Sloan, Nate McMillan, Mike D'Antonio, and possibly Pacer's assistant coach, Brian Shaw, who was the assistant coach for the Lakers and one of the three coaches interviewing to be the head coach of the Lakers last season. The Lakers would have to get permission from the Pacers before talking to Shaw about the job though.
Thoughts? Do guys think this was a justifiable firing, or should the Lakers have given him the 6-game homestand they had said they were going to give him to see if he could turn things around?
