Kobe announced his retirement early during the season, and just finished up his season last night. In his final game in the NBA he scored 60 points including multiple clutch shots in the final minutes. Vintage Kobe.

He took a ton of shots, and missed a lot of shots too during the game. Still I didn't expect anything different. I think the Jazz let up a little because they knew what kind of history the game was going to have. On top of that, they were already out of the playoffs with the win by Houston. In any case I have a lot of respect for Kobe. I'm not a Lakers fan in the slightest, but he was definitely one of the greatest of all time.

I watched it, but the only reason he got 50+ points was because he took a lot of shots (and missed a lot too) in the game, since it was his last and his teammates were passing him the ball most of the time (which wasn't all that different in his career), so all in all, it was basically the Kobe Bryant show (which has been the same for 20 years), and it would be interesting to see how the Lakers would go forward without their star player in their roster.

It was vintage Kobe but did you happen to see the number of shots he took? Then again, I guess that's vintage Kobe too. I honestly respect older Kobe a lot more. When he was younger he was a way better player but he matured so much and that's not something I ever thought I would say about Kobe. The way he handled the pressure of LA and truly tried to push his teammates to win is something I always admire. His attitude seemed to get way better.

I am an official Laker-hater and my hatred extends indefinitely to Kobe Bryant.  However, I'm glad that Kobe went before he was washed up.  It makes retirement more classy.  Better to leave on your own than to be forced out because of lack of performance or an injury.  I will at least give him his props on that.  He will be back in some capacity I am sure as a coach, assistant, or commentator.  He's too big of a name to just disappear and he loves the limelight too much.  Anyone who gives himself his OWN nickname is not going to just go dark on the league in every way.  Plus, he does love the game!

I am glad that he went out with a memorable performance. I was never really the biggest Kobe fan, but I also am not a hater or anything and I respect the guy and his attitude towards the game. He is certainly a smart and well rounded individual as well, so that is always a plus when you are talking about star sports figures. He is one of the greatest to play for sure, and he was a joy to watch, and also a pain sometimes.

One of the best is retired and I think he will be remembered and I would say that no one else deserve more to be ranked like Bryant is. I guess I said nothing new and that this is something everybody knows. Nonetheless, I here comparisons of Jordan an Curry or James and Jordan ... Whatever. I believe if anybody should be compared to MJ it is Kobe. I would even go as far as to say he might be even better players that MJ but that is something to debate about and the stats or records are not a good parameter for this. Or at least they shouldn't be the only parameter.

I absolutely adore Kobe Bryant as a player. He is without a doubt, one of the best players to roam this planet. However, I'm not going to bandwagon and say he had a good game because he took so many shots and missed most of them. He will truly be missed but his retirement is long due lol.
