Wow... this was pretty sudden. RIP to the winningest and arguably greatest coach in college football history.

last night things were very bad, media was reporting he was dead but family refuted it. he must have died overnight.

R.I.P Joe Pa

R.I.P. Joe Paterno it's weird how everyone thought he was dead then it turns out he's not. Then the next day is turns out he is dead a very sad day today.

RIP the greatest college football coach ever.

Terribly sad how the last bit of his life had to go.

RIP Joe Paterno.

It's sad how his legacy had to be tainted...it's not his fault his assistant coach was, um, "attracted" to young boys.

He knew about it. The administration and himself included are responsible for that mess.

But R.I.P
He told the administration. If anyone should have been blamed, it should have been them. I would have done the exact same thing as Paterno.

i am so pissed at the morons who are saying nothing but crap about him, all they care about is the scandal in which he did what at the time was right. i think things like that are more common today than they were back then...

Yeah, I didn't like it when he was being criticized when the scandal was actually uncovered. I would have done the exact same thing. If anything, the people who he told should have been criticized.

he was an escape goat from day one, they(trustees) have wanted him out for years so this was just an excuse to do it. I remember a couple of years ago when he got hurt they tried to get him to retire, he said no and kept going.
