Jacksonville Jaguars 2025 NFL Draft mock roundup (Apr 7)

Happy Mason Graham Monday!

The NFL Draft is almost upon us. It’s now April which means the draft is a little over two weeks away.

Unless you have been living under a rock, Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham has been the clubhouse leader in mocks for the Jacksonville Jaguars at pick number five.

Graham checks a lot of boxes and has been the name before, during and after the change of front office staffs and coaches. Recent shakeups from teams picking ahead of Jacksonville have altered Duval’s quest to potentially land Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter instead of Graham, if you are looking for another option at #5.

Penn State tight end Tyler Warren’s name has picked up steam as a potential secondary option for the Jags. Even still, picking Graham at fifth overall seems to be the most likely scenario.

ESPN’s Field Yates

To no one’s surprise, we’re staring with a Graham mock from ESPN. The reasoning is the same as it has been all offseason and it’s a pretty sensical idea overall.

Jacksonville has big needs up front on defense that are too hard to ignore with this pick, and Graham would immediately reshape the complexion of both the pass rush and the run defense. He racked up 26 pressures and 14 run stops last season. The Jaguars, meanwhile, allowed the second-most yards (389.9 per game) and fifth-most points (25.6 per game) in the NFL last season. Lined up between edge rushers Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker, Graham would help this defense get back on track.

NFL.com’s Maurice Jones-Drew

Ol’ number 32 gives us a mock this week, but it’s a bit of a wild one. Jones-Drew has Hunter going seventh overall and Graham going all the way down at 11. At five however, the former Jaguar legend has his old team taking Arizona wide receiver Tet McMillian.

Head coach Liam Coen aims to replicate what he had in Tampa with a pair of talented receivers at the center of his offense. Joining second-year pro Brian Thomas Jr., McMillan is a big receiver (6-foot-4, 219 pounds) with the ball skills and physicality to make contested catches.

As much as Graham makes sense, this pick also has its feet to stand on. The idea for much of Trevor Lawrence’s career has been that he hasn’t had help. With McMillian, the Jags may be able to do with Lawrence what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to do with Baker Mayfield throwing to Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Tetairoa McMillan faced double coverage 12.5% of the time -- more than any WR in 25. A given in 3rd down situations.

The 33rd Team’s Tyler Brooke

Now that we are done with our wildcard pick, let’s get back to Graham.

Mason Graham is being mocked to the Jaguars everywhere, and for good reason. The team desperately needs a three-down defensive tackle who can stop the run and has enough juice as a pass rusher to take some of the pressure off of Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen. Graham can do all of that and be a disruptive force in the middle of Jacksonville’s defense.

Pro Football Network’s Brentley Weissman

Hey, look it’s a Graham mock. At this point, what has been said about Graham is all that needs to be said.

Mason Graham feels like the forgotten man in this year’s draft class, but I am not sure that will matter much on draft day. Graham is a stout and relentless force at defensive tackle and was the leader of Michigan’s remarkable defense over the last few seasons. The Jacksonville Jaguars need building blocks to right the ship, and I can’t think of a better player to insert into this defense than Graham. His tenacity, play strength, and effort would be a welcomed addition.

CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli

You probably thought this next mock was going to be for Graham but Tom Fornelli throws a huge curveball in this one.

Fornelli predicts a trade-back scenario from Jacksonville, where the Jags drop down to pick No. 11, switching with San Francisco. The 49ers use the pick to take an offensive tackle, where the Jags use the pick to take Penn State tight end Tyler Warren.

I know Jacksonville is high on Brenton Strange, but Warren is such an intriguing weapon that he’d be hard to pass up here. He’s a tight end, but he doesn’t have to play at tight end. Liam Coen could find plenty of ways to get him and Strange on the field together along with Brian Thomas Jr.

Warren is a dark horse candidate for the Jags that has received buzz in recent weeks. He helps the case for aiding Lawrence and is TE1 in this class. The idea he could be a big wide receiver body while Brenton Strange plays strictly tight end could be something the Jags can’t pass up.

Sources: Penn State TE Tyler Warren has just one scheduled visit — rare for a potential top-10 pick — as teams view him as “one of the cleanest prospects.”

While Warren’s already had multiple private workouts, one team picking in the top 10 canceled theirs last minute, saying:… pic.twitter.com/8m8UvUP4VW

— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) April 6, 2025

NFL.com’s Eric Edholm

Here’s a second Warren mock for you. Edholm mentions that Warren can fill a similar role in Jacksonville that Tyler Higbee fills for the Rams. While Higbee may not be a “big name” or “star” tight end, Higbee is about as sure as they come. If the Jags can get 10 years out of a guy like Warren as LA has done with Higbee, that would be a huge win regardless of position.

With a first-year general manager/head coach combo — and the talent not synching perfectly with need — it’s tricky to forecast the Jaguars’ pick. They’ve made two big offseason additions in the secondary, but I think Liam Coen wants to add pieces to this offense. The versatile Warren can give him a more dangerous Tyler Higbee (whom Coen coached in L.A.).

Pro Football Focus’ Fans

Back to our regularly scheduled Graham programming. PFF poled its fans on who should be picked and where and unsurprisingly Graham got slated to Duval. Be warned however, the following first sentece is not going to make anyone smile.

The Jaguars’ highest-graded interior defender, for now, is Jordan Jefferson at 62.7. Graham was the highest-graded defensive tackle in college football in 2024. This fan pick needs no more explanation.

NFL.com’s Chad Reuter

One word: Graham. Reuter does have Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart going No. 7 overall to the New York Jets which is a fun one. However, Graham to Jacksonville is standard procedure for us fans of teal.

Jacksonville has not made any personnel moves to improve its front four this offseason after giving up 25.6 points per game in 2024. Graham will provide a spark on the line as both a troublesome run defender and an active pass rusher.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein

We end this week the same way we started it: with Graham coming to Jacksonville. The Jags may have taken two defensive tackles last year, and signed another, but all signs seem to be pointing to adding another body to that room on April 24.

Graham doesn’t have the freakish size, length or athleticism that others might offer, but he’s tough, consistent and productive — and that’s what Jacksonville needs inside.

Don’t overthink it with Mason Graham. Elite prospect〽️

Walker will now be under contract with the Jaguars through 2026.

In a widely anticipated move, the Jacksonville Jaguars will pick up the fifth-year option for defensive end Travon Walker, the team has announced.

— JaguarsPR (@JaguarsPR) April 7, 2025

The Jaguars selected Walker in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, using the first pick on the Edge from the University of Georgia. With his option now picked up, he will now be under contract through at least the 2026 season. With this option in effect, he is projected to earn $14.75 million in the 2026 season, per Spotrac. Those numbers are fully guaranteed.

In his rookie 2022 season, Walker secured just 3.5 sacks, as a developing edge prospect in the pass rush area. However, since that time he has exploded with two straight 10-plus sack seasons, in 2023 and 2024.

. @44Ytw registered 1.0 sack in today’s game to mark his second-consecutive season with double-digit sacks (10.5). Walker is the second player in franchise history to produce 10 or more sacks in back-to-back seasons (DE Calais Campbell, 2017-18). pic.twitter.com/uFwXZOnRXz

— JaguarsPR (@JaguarsPR) January 5, 2025

In 2024, Walker became the first player in franchise history to record at least 10.0 sacks in back-to-back seasons within their first three years in the NFL. Additionally, Travon has the most sacks in franchise history within a player’s first three years in the league (24.0), passing Josh Hines-Allen (20.5).

Head coach Liam Coen previously confirmed that the team and Walkers’ camp had been in communication this offseason to discuss a possible extension.

“We’re having open conversations, and at the end of the day, we’ll continue to have those. James and Tony and I will have those conversations as we go, for sure.”

As the team and Walker continue to negotiate a potential contract extension, the team will theoretically have him under team control for the next five years, with the ability to use franchise tags.

Liam Coen: "no plans right now" on Devin Lloyd 5th-year option

With Phase One of the Jaguars’ offseason program in full swing, head coach Liam Coen met with the assembled media. Here are a few takeaways from his media availability:

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ welcomed players back to the Miller Electric Center on Tuesday, April 8th, as the inaugural offseason program kicked off under the leadership trio of head coach Liam Coen, general manager James Gladstone, and executive vice president of football operations Tony Boselli. This week kicks off phase one of their offseason program - two weeks of meetings, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation. Coach Coen first took to the podium, followed by quarterback Trevor Lawrence and linebacker Foye Oluokun.

Full Media Availability:

The youth movement is here

Coen and this new leadership staff have been unflinching in their pursuit of building through the draft. Coen today leaned into that core philosophy when asked how he prioritizes the now versus the potential future for a draft prospect.

"So, ultimately, we have 10 picks. We're going to lean on some of those guys to play early on. Ultimately, we can't be afraid of that. We had three of them in Tampa last year play and have a lot of success for us. We can't be afraid of that moment and to play some young players. So, the goal is to get better, quicker. With having a vision, so having long sustained success, that's important to us. But at the moment, we're looking at winning right now.”

With the team previously moving on from tight end Evan Engram (30), cornerback Ronald Darby (31), and Mitch Morse retiring (32) it would seem that the youth movement in Duval has arrived. Defensive end Armstead and safety Eric Murray are the only currently projected starters over the age of 30.

Establishing the line of scrimmage

Listening to Coen, Gladstone, and Boselli this off-season, it would be hard to miss the consistent language surrounding a focus on establishing the run game. Coen again touched on the team’s offensive line investments, while also keeping the focus on how it helps Lawrence.

"I do believe we've brought in some players to come help compete in that room. Couple, obviously with Hainsey [OL Robert Hainsey], knowing the system and Mekari [OL Patrick Mekari] playing a lot of football and guys coming in, it's only going to help, right? Help add competitiveness to the room and also just some accountability to knowing the system that'll help everybody in that room. So, it's cool. Both of our centers actually know a version of the system in different ways, but it's only going to help bring in those guys in."

It's all about making life easier for 16.

— 1010 XL / 92.5 FM (@1010XL) April 9, 2025

Most importantly, having said balance in the offense then allows Lawrence to play the game without the built-in stressor of believing that he has to win the game on every single throw, which Coen also commented on.

"And that's really what it comes down to. Being able to give him some balance around him so that he can feel like, man, not every play is on me. Not every play I’ve got to, every throw I have to make is going to have to be life or death. We've got to create some balance for him so that he can just go play quieted, free of failure and just go let it rip."

No decision on fifth-year option for Devin Lloyd

Linebacker Devon Lloyd is entering the final season of his rookie contract after being drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Coen indicated that the team had no plans, at the moment, to pick up the option for linebacker Devin Lloyd.

“No plans right now in terms of we’re having those conversations, getting used to the player, right? We’ve just got to get used to him a little bit and get to know him a little bit. We’re excited about him, a guy that we see we can do some things with. Like, we do feel excited about some of his versatility and experience, so some of those conversations will be open and honest, and communicated."

The deadline for the team to exercise his fifth-year option is Thursday, May 1st.

Building something new

While it may be easy to assume that this offense will be a mashup of the Los Angeles Rams, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (or, defensively, the Green Bay Packers and the 2023 Miami Dolphins), Coen advised caution in making that assumption. Whatever is built in Jacksonville would be their own.

“You’re always pulling, right? Everybody’s pulling from different places to ultimately make it ours. We’ve got to watch those tapes of where we all came from, and OK, fine, what is the ‘25 Jags though? Like, how does this fit us? We may not have that answer right now, that’s the kind of cool part is we’re going to throw as much at these guys mentally in this offseason, as much as we can handle and probably more, much more actually, because it’s not a ‘physical’ time of the year.

It’s a time of the year, we can stress them mentally, ultimately throw as much at them as we can from Minnesota, from Tampa, from L.A., from Green Bay, whatever it is, and see what we can handle. We’re not going to know who we’re truly going to be for a while, but it’s more so testing to see how much they can handle, and if maybe some of those concepts, schemes, fundamentals fit our players. That’s a great question because that’s something that we’re constantly working through right now as a staff."

New scheme, new coaches, same Foye

Team Captain, MLB Foye Oluokun first took to the podium to discuss his introduction to new defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile's scheme and discussed the natural difficulties in learning multiple schemes over multiple years of late.

“I think that’s a challenge every time you step into a new system or new coordinators, new coaches. One: just embracing coaching; two: just trusting what they have in store, trusting their plan; three: just understanding whatever the scheme is or whatever the plans are and still playing your best football. I think that’s always going to be a challenge when you’ve got new teammates, new coaches, and everything. So really embracing everything and trusting that everything is meant for the better of the team.”

Foye, as well as other veteran defenders in Jacksonville since 2022, will be entering their third defensive scheme after Mike Caldwell (2022-2023) and Ryan Nielsen (2024) were both relieved as defensive coordinator. And while that may be the nature of the sport, it doesn't make it any easier, as Oluokun took a moment of vulnerability to explain:

“If I can be real with you, I think that might be something that’s not talked about a lot, but I think going through a lot of coaches, a lot of systems, whether offensively or defensively, can take a toll.

I think if you go about it with the right mindset, of learning and understanding, that it can make your game better - accepting what they’re trying to coach you on and stuff."

However, one could say that Foye has been prepared for this NFL life of constant personnel and scheme change since his college days at Yale. Many fans may not be aware that Oluokun played cornerbacks, safety, and linebacker in college - forcing him to learn the entire defensive playbook (alignments, calls, coverages, and how it all works together). Foye discussed how those experiences helped to sharpen and develop the mental aspects of his game.

“I think so just because, one, you can understand what other positions are doing as you’re going. You can understand the ‘why,’ whatever your job responsibility is so important. Maybe it’s to help out a safety, maybe it’s to help out a corner and their job responsibility. But I think just going forward, or going through the NFL, as soon as I came to the NFL I changed positions to a linebacker.

I’m always learning new concepts, new playbook, in order to do well, in order to be successful. So, coming into a new coordinator, it’s nothing new for me in terms of adapting and learning, and having to execute on the fly. Like as you said, maybe that flexibility all the way through my college career kind of geared me to start thinking like that, always being able to adapt with whatever comes.”

Foye Oluokun: The Epitome of Consistency

Getting stronger, tougher - key to offseason

With the offseason program in full swing, incoming Director of Strength and Conditioning, Eric Ciano made his first introductions to the team, working with them over the prior two days. With the teams' offseason emphasis on being a tougher organization, Ciano seems to be ground-zero to plant the initial seeds, as Foye discussed:

“It’s good energy. That’s one thing, especially after the first two days I just worked out with him. If they’re that same person every day, it’s going to be great for the team. He’s going to grind us. I think it’s going to be so good for us going forward. We’ve just got to have a growth mentality to understand that just because we’re feeling a little tired today, if we keep on this path, you’re going to amazing by the end of OTAs, by the end of training camp. I’m excited for where this team can go, lifting with him and stuff. But he’s working us, so I’m excited.”

Lawrence pacing his recovery rehab

When a starting NFL quarterback ends the season injured, all eyes automatically pivot to their rehab, rightfully. For Jaguars fans and media alike, this would be no different, with the $275-million Lawrence undergoing a December surgery to repair an AC joint issue in his non-throwing shoulder. Lawrence seemed confident that he would be rehabilitated and ready to play before the games became live, however.

“Well, I mean there’s not really a set like deadline on it just because we don’t play a game till this fall. Obviously, I’m going to be ready sooner than that, but so I’m very optimistic I’ll be perfectly good for the season, but as far as just right now, I think just kind of pacing ourselves as OTAs go, and working myself up to where I’m in shape as far as throwing, and so I guess the amount of throws might be a little lighter to start and work our way up just until I get really fully back. But I imagine that and then maybe just some handoff stuff will be a little limited, but besides that I think that won’t last too long. So I don’t have a [timeline].”

And while Lawrence has placed himself on a self-imposed pitch-count, he did confirm that he is at the stage of recovery where he has been throwing this offseason.

“Yeah, I’m throwing and obviously, I’m kind of progressing and working my way up, further distance, more throws. Just trying to be smart and not just jump off into the deep end right away, just trying to work up to it.”

Footwork adjustments: a necessary change

Coach Coen spoke with SiriusXM NFL Radio just under a week ago, confirming that the staff was working with Lawrence to tweak a few items involving his footwork.

"We're diving into his footwork, everything with the quarterback position, so much is built on the lower half and the mind."@Jaguars HC Liam Coen on QB Trevor Lawrence.

https://t.co/xM0RxQYoXW#Jaguars | #DUUUVAL pic.twitter.com/OcgU9Cdlze

— SiriusXM NFL Radio (@SiriusXMNFL) April 3, 2025

When asked about his footwork adjustment progress and process, to his credit, Lawrence did not shy away from a full, encompassing response (editors' note: Lawrence’s response has been shortened for brevity):

“Yeah, just there’s some things that—there’s some things I’ve known about my footwork over the years of playing that I felt like have been a little bit of a weakness, so there’s some things that we’ve talked about of just, 'what are those things? What are we identifying as things to work on?'

Then, the system is built around timing and tying your feet to your progression... So, I think they’ve been a really good job with the system of really thinking through how does it tie into a quarterbacks’ feet? That’s what we’ve been talking about, and it takes some work and flipping my stance, just some little things like that that are small that many people wouldn’t notice, but it is. I have so many banked reps of the other way, I’ve got to just get all these on my own and work them. So once camp comes around, I’m ready to go.”

Life without Evan Engram and Christian Kirk will be different

Much ado has been made this off-season surrounding the departures of receiver Christian Kirk and tight end Evan Engram. Both Engram and Kirk have been two of Lawrence's primary receiving targets for the past three seasons.

Unusual stat from 2022-24 for a story this week (ESPN Research):

When targeting anyone EXCEPT Christian Kirk and Evan Engram, Lawrence was sacked 80 times in 1,070 dropbacks

When targeting Kirk and Engram, he was NOT sacked in 517 dropbacks

Big adjustment for him without both.

— Michael DiRocco (@ESPNdirocco) March 19, 2025

Additionally, both players were his close friends, which he discussed.

“It’s tough. Yeah, it’s hard. You build relationships with guys and unfortunately, I’ve seen—those two guys are a little different because we spent three years together and I guess the majority of my time here, besides my rookie year. So, it’s hard seeing guys go and it’s part of the business, unfortunately. It’s just, you’ve got to kind of take it for what it is and move on honestly.

But the relationship piece of it will always be there. We built special relationships and friendships that thankfully will last outside of this being on the same team. So I think that’s the good thing about it because there’s certain people, when they leave, it’s like that was my guy, but you kind of lose touch a little bit, but those are two guys that will always stay in touch."

Nevertheless, it's still 'Duval Til We Die (DTWD)', as Lawrence was sure to end with these (semi) well-wishes to his friends:

"We’ll be close friends and obviously, wish nothing but the best for them, except for twice a year with Christian, and I think we play the Broncos this year too, so once for Evan."

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Jacksonville Jaguars fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

FanDuel Sportsbook released its team win projections for the 2025-26 NFL season.

The Jaguars’ line is set at 7.5 wins. Will the team go over or under that number?

Jacksonville also has +270 odds to win the AFC South, second-best behind Houston (+125). Where will the Jaguars finish in its division this year?

At the team’s end-of-season press conference in January, team owner Shad Khan was asked if he expects a turnaround to happen quickly.

“I think so. If our defense would improve, get to the middle of the pack, we were what, 2-10 this year [in one-score games]? How many of those games we could win? I think the schemes on offense just being less predictable. I think we could be more productive on offense. We have the ability through the Draft coming up and salary cap to be able to use that to get more specific players we were seeking. I expect for us to have success very quickly.”

“You’ve got to be shooting for the playoffs, I think, every year.”

Best options for the Jaguars on each day of the draft

When and where the Jags will fill holes on draft weekend

The new front office in Jacksonville has, for the most part, gone out of its way to deliberately replace outgoing talent with new additions in free agency. Why? To keep their options open ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft. That’s not to say they don’t have needs, but they have given themselves a degree of flexibility regarding the order in which they address them come the end of the month.

With that in mind, let’s identify the biggest holes in the Jags’ roster - and some names that should still be available at those positions on each day of the draft:

1: Defensive Tackle

"Mason Graham, along with his running mate Kenneth Grant, beat Ohio State."

— The Joel Klatt Show: A CFB Pod (@JoelKlattShow) April 10, 2025

The one position that wasn’t addressed in free agency. And given the Jaguars’ run defense woes in 2024, it’s likely high up the list of priorities for new General Manager James Gladstone. The good news? This draft class isn’t short on talent on the defensive interior. Some potential targets:

Day 1 - Mason Graham, Michigan: The obvious answer, and a name familiar to any Jags fan who keeps an eye on the thousands of mock drafts that spring up this time of year. Graham is a potential top-three talent in this draft, and could very well be available at pick number 5. Imagining him alongside Arik Armstead, Joshua Hines-Allen and Travon Walker is a scary thought.

Day 2 - Alfred Collins, Texas: If the Jags are content to see a more enhanced role for Maason Smith in 2025, then perhaps a prospect with upside could be sought in rounds 2 or 3. Collins has the measurables to be an NFL run stuffer, even if the production wasn’t quite there for the Longhorns

Day 3 - Thomas Gore, Georgia Tech: I would be shocked if Jacksonville waited this long to address their primary need. But on day 3 you look for diamonds in the rough. Gore had a tough time in Miami after shining at Georgia State, but bounced back nicely with the Yellow Jackets. He outperforms his size and offers intriguing interior pass rush.

2: Secondary

Travis Hunter says he can play every snap in an NFL game if given the chance.

How does he have the time to prepare and attend all the meetings needed?

“We got 24 hours in a day. We sleep for 8 of those. So we got 16 more dedicated to that.”

Love this.pic.twitter.com/uLyxBypmkH

— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) April 7, 2025

The ascendency of Jarrian Jones and clever additions in the form of Jourdan Lewis and Eric Murray in free agency possibly knocked this positional need off top spot. Nevertheless, depth is a big concern at pretty much every position on the back end:

Day 1 - Travis Hunter, Colorado: Just imagine if Hunter somehow fell to Jacksonville at 5! The two-way star and Heisman Trophy winner wouldn’t just be expected to be an instant starter at corner, but potentially challenge for defensive postseason awards too. And we haven’t even discussed the value on offense he brings either. Not since Jalen Ramsey would the Jags have had a name with such star power in the secondary.

Day 2 - Maxwell Hairston, Kentucky: Want to inject some speed into the secondary? Hairston might just be the kind of high-upside, developmental pick you look for on Friday. Instinctive and explosive, the only thing keeping the former Wildcat out of first round consideration is a small body of work during his time in Lexington.

Day 3 - Anthony Wilson, West Virginia: From Georgia Southern to WVU, all Anthony Wilson has done is make plays. Production is this safeties’ specialty, delivering 180 tackles his last two years in Morgantown. Offering some positional versatility too, Wilson perhaps has too much to pass up on come day 3.

3: Offensive Line

Charles Grant, OT, William & Mary

— Kevin Clark (@bykevinclark) March 28, 2025

Some quality, low-key additions have been made on the o-line in free agency. But considering Walker Little’s injury history, perhaps it’s prudent to stack talent at one of the most important positions in the game:

Day 1 - Armand Membou, Missouri: There’s a chance that, should Jacksonville decide to go that way in the first round, they could have the pick of the offensive tackles with their opening selection. And if durability is a concern, then Membou’s record of 30 games uninterrupted might be appealing. The cherry on top? This tackle didn’t allow one sack or QB hit in the whole of 2024 - going up against the SEC’s best. Yikes.

Day 2 - Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona: A more likely day to target offensive line help would probably be Friday, and if that’s the case, a prospect who can play multiple spots on the line would be a bonus. Savaiinaea is a monster of a man with outrageous power and can play everywhere but center - an ideal backup to the current starters.

Day 3 - Charles Grant, William & Mary: Talk about upside; how about a kid who has only played the sport for seven years? Grant is nowhere close to touching his potential as a left tackle, and yet was still invited to this year’s Senior Bowl. A minor injury has disrupted some serious draft momentum, and should he fall to day 3 then he could be very appealing to the Jags.

4: Wide Receiver

Winston Wright Jr. is one of the most SLEPT on prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.

One NFL scout reportedly believes Wright will be a “Deebo Samuel type of player” once he’s in the league.

Wright is also one of the fastest prospects in next year’s draft, hitting speeds of nearly… pic.twitter.com/1K8NT821cb

— NFL Rookie Watch (@NFLRookieWatxh) December 7, 2024

The Jaguars can legitimately boast of having a top-ten receiver in the NFL, despite Brian Thomas Jr. only being in the league for one year. But there are definite questions regarding his supporting cast, despite the addition of Dyami Brown. Could Jacksonville target another weapon for Trevor Lawrence come draft weekend?

Day 1 - Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State: The only way Jacksonville goes receiver in back-to-back first rounds is if they can heavily trade back - and even then it’s unlikely. Nevertheless, should it happen, I can see them targeting a different type of pass catcher like Egbuka; a smooth, detailed route runner who has experience in the slot and can dovetail with Thomas’ more explosive outside skillset.

Day 2 - Jalen Royals, Utah State: One of my favourite talents in this draft class, Royals has firmly pushed himself into day 2 contention with a strong draft season that backs up explosive tape. A legitimate threat to take it to the house from anywhere on the field, just put the ball in this kid’s hands and let him take care of the rest.

Day 3 - Winston Wright Jr., East Carolina: When targeting receivers in the later rounds, those who can offer value on special teams tend to stand out. Wright, whilst at West Virginia, broke records belonging to Tavon Austin. And he got back to peak playmaking form at ECU after suffering a serious injury in a car crash whilst at Florida State. Given the departure of Devin Duvernay, Wright’s kick-return prowess would be welcome.

Reacts Survey results: Jaguars fans’ expectation for 2025

Indianapolis Colts v Jacksonville Jaguars

The results are in!

This week, we asked Jacksonville Jaguars fans about two betting categories recently posted on FanDuel Sportsbook regarding the 2025 NFL season: team win totals and division winners.

58% of Jaguars fans believe the team will surpass its projected win total (7.5 games).

33% of Jaguars fans believe the team will win the AFC South (+270 odds).

For folks who think it’s too early to decide — I’d urge you not to put too much stock in the rookie class, especially in Year 1. Drafts are a crapshoot and even successful draftees need time to develop. An enormous range of outcomes makes it very hard to project the impact of any team’s draft class. Sportsbooks know this, hence 2025 NFL season betting lines being available now.

Imagine the Jaguars’ current roster plus an average depth piece added at OL, DL, WR and DB. Do you think that’s good enough to win eight-plus games? I do.

Top comments from Wednesday’s post:

Travis D Holmes
I have to believe, 8 wins would be the floor for this team, with this playcalling HC, and this AFC South - even in a rebuild
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But that's my floor for them
Belgian Jaguar
Tough one for me. Being a fan, my heart says easily over. Being realistic; installing new schemes, new vision, a lot of new players to be implemented, all in combination with the play and results of last season, my brain says perhaps 7 wins might be difficult. In the end, Heart always wins, so I'll go with the over and a win of the Division. Go Jags!!
mnkman322
Doug Pederson average what 7.33 wins per year with this roster? Then we jettisoned a bunch of players who were better pass catchers and pass blockers than the starters we added? I'm taking the under.
sgillespie00
I think they are in the 7-9 range. I think 7.5 is basically right on. I'll wait to make an official prediction until after the draft.
JAGSFANZ
Way too early. Silly to bet when we have not seen the draft picks results. Alway optimistic and hoping Liam Coen can light a fire under butts of said "professional" football team. That's the first challenge. What can he get out of the players that Doug and Company could not??? If they draft big, strong, athletic and dominant, beefcake road graders on both sides of the lines and show me a dominant, consistent run game, then we can all look for more than 7+ wins. Beat division opponents at least 4-5 times out of 6 games; then see who else they can beat.
Jaguardian
I'll revisit this subject after the draft is over. It's much too premature to make a proclamation on this team's seasonal success/failure.

Jaguars’ James Gladstone, Liam Coen Pre-Draft Media Luncheon Takeaways

2025 NFL Scouting Combine

Head Coach Liam Coen and General Manager James Gladstone both met with the assembled media prior to next week's NFL Draft.

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ new front office have spent the past week getting acclimated with players and their scouting team in-house, as the staff puts the final touches on their draft board. Meanwhile the players and coaches have been progressing through phase one of their inaugural offseason program: their opening two weeks of team meetings, strength and conditioning, and player rehabilitation.

— Jacksonville Jaguars (@Jaguars) April 11, 2025

Head Coach Liam Coen took to the podium, together with General Manager James Gladstone to discuss their final thoughts prior to next week's NFL Draft.

Here are a few takeaways from their combined media availability:

Full Media Availability:

Not a “normal” draft process?

For a Jacksonville Jaguars organization that prioritizes intangibles slightly more than other teams, the process of how those intangibles is weighted, when setting the draft board then can become a key question. When asked about his current process, Gladstone explained:

“It’s been very impressive, the adaptability of that [scouting] group. To say, hey, here are the items we’re emphasizing, and we’ll be prioritizing, may look a little different than what you’re used to. To be able to see them pivot away from maybe things they held at a premium in the past, that flexibility has really stood out to me amongst the group.”

As Gladstone was hired a little later into the draft evaluation process, he was also asked about the difficulty of acclimating himself with the pre-existing scouting department and infusing his philosophies into their prior processes.

“There are some specific efficiencies that we’ve been able to sort of fold into the process. In large part there’s a good bit of information already at our disposal and a lot of internal knowledge that already exists that’s really helpful. Having our scouting staff on-site for the first time this week, all being under the same roof, it was really cool. We got a chance to sit down yesterday and chop through a large chunk of the prospects and got a chance to share with them my impressions of day one with them.”

With multiple years of pre-draft work one this class already done by a prior general manager, but based on different philosophies and priorities, Gladstone has been working through the challenge of recalibrating the prior assessments without the help of his prior in-house analytics and communication systems in Los Angeles (JAARS).

“What is JAARS?” https://t.co/6NcF85yvLx ‘Finding Rams’: One year behind the scenes of the NFL Draft scouting process, Part I

— Jourdan Rodrigue (@JourdanRodrigue) March 14, 2025

Enter Senior Vice President of Football Analytics Jake Temme. Teeme was recently brought to Jacksonville from the Los Angeles Rams, where he was previously the Director, Data and Analytics, helping to build the original JAARS system in Los Angeles. In the interim, there will obviously be a lingering question of how much will this draft class have the feel of James Gladstone, with much of the scouting staff, process, and pre-draft work being completed by a prior regime.

This young team will likely get even younger, soon

While the early rounds of the upcoming NFL draft is on the forefront of most fans' minds, the Jaguars currently lead the league in roster openings to potentially be filled by undrafted free agents per OverTheCap.

This will inevitably change, but looking at the amount of UDFA spots each team has before draft day pic.twitter.com/pwnwo570Gf

— Billy M (@BillyM_91) April 15, 2025

With Gladstone and Co currently owning the sixth-youngest roster in the NFL, Gladstone expressed his excitement in building out the remainder of the roster, which is likely to become younger at both the starting and depth roles in the coming weeks. Liam leaned into this philosophy, as he often has this offseason:

“I think naturally as a coach, you just go to a safe place of a veteran, which I completely respect and appreciate, but it’s definitely something we’re going to lean into (adding a high number of young players to the roster). The guys should be excited about it. You can continue to coach hard and get the best out of these guys when they’re freshly in the league and really want to do their best. We’re excited about that factor.”

When discussing the depth of the draft, Gladstone was also sure to mention the participation of past undrafted free agent classes in building out the depth of his past team builds.

“I think that every Draft, there ends up being players that are very good at all positions from start to finish. I think that that probably doesn’t come as a surprise when you look at the most recent drafts that I’ve been a part of, especially with those day-three selections, even those undrafted college free agents, who in Los Angeles had played a high volume of snaps and contributed in a significant way early in their rookie contract. Yeah, I think there are some public-facing positions that everybody has a pretty good understanding that are deep in that year’s Draft. I don’t think there’s a single position that we would label as being without talent. All of them can produce somebody for us that would contribute in a notable way fairly early in their rookie contract along the entirety of the Draft.”

Parker Washington Season?

When asked about the depth of the receiving room and who the primary options would be for the No. 2 receiving spot, Coach Coen had a pretty curious answer in relation to one reciever specifically.

“We’re going to spread the ball out hopefully equally. That was the nice thing about being last year with Tampa, we had to play a lot of different players in different personnel groupings. I think you look naturally right now at [WR] Parker Washington and [WR] Dyami Brown at the receiver positions. Then saying [TE] Brenton Strange hopefully continues to ascend. How do we use our two running backs to be able to supplement some of that usage, get more people involved in the game especially early on, so defenses can’t just cloud BT [WR Brian Thomas Jr.] and be all over him, that we have other guys that can go win and be explosive with the ball in their hands, ultimately share that wealth, share that play-making ability.

Once the ball is snapped for the beginning of the game, within the first quarter, if you haven’t touched the ball, it’s a hard one to continue to get through. How do we get all of our playmakers a touch early on to get them going and involved in the game? Those guys that I just mentioned right now are guys that we’re going to spotlight.”

While it could be nothing, I found it noticeable that Gabe Davis was not mentioned here. Similar to the early off-season interviews surrounding the receiver room, where former Jaguars receiver Christian Kirk was rarely expressly mentioned, Davis was also not named here. Parker Washington, Dyami Brown, Brenton Strange, and even the running back room were all named, but not Davis. Thos could have just been an oversight, or it could be an indication of where Gabe is currently slotted within the room. Only time will tell.

Short down improvement must be a shared pursuit

When discussing the offensive line investments and the teams’ 2024 inability to pick up short-yardage gains, Coen chimed, hammering home that it will be a combination of things from coaching, scheme, player matchups, to the skill of the players to improve those numbers in 2025.

“I think that’s something that ultimately you look at last year in the NFL, we were first in Tampa in short yardage. Although I’d love to say that we just ran duo down everybody’s throat, I can’t say that. There was some misdirection, jet sweeps, whatever it was, different ways of getting that yard. Ultimately, yes, you’d love to say, ‘Man, we just have to gain to yard, we should be able to do this,’ with the most simple plays in football. But it just depends on how you’re built and what those matchups look like, obviously. It is on us as coaches to hopefully put those guys in better positions to be successful that way.”

To Coen’s point, Tampa, after drafting a first round Center in Graham Barton, fourth round running back Bucky Irving, and adding free agent left guard Ben Bredeson found tremendous success extending drives via the run. However, this was achieved using a multiple running scheme, keeping teams off balance (pin and pull, duo, z-wraps, and both man and gap schemes). Investments into the offensive line and running back room, similarly, may be needed in Jacksonville, but Coen will again be tasked in bringing a team with third down struggles back to life.

Jacksonville Jaguars mock draft roundup (Apr 14)

Vrbo Fiesta Bowl - Penn State v Boise State

Do the Jags take a swing on a running back in the first round?

Anyone tired of hearing Mason Graham’s name yet? Seemingly some folks are.

This week we are going to focus a bit beyond the usual Graham to the Jacksonville Jaguars talk. While Graham is still the leader, more and more names are bubbling up the surface.

Tyler Warren keeps making appearances on mocks and now a new name has emerged in the thunderdome: Ashton Jeanty.

Maybe this is all draft fatigue with Graham or maybe there is something more here in terms of getting Trevor Lawrence a playmaker. Either way, there are plenty of fun names popping up on this week’s roundup.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper

Despite all the talk above, we will start things off with Graham. Kiper is essentially the preeminent draft expert and if he thinks the pick is Graham, there is good reason for it. In his own words, Kiper has not shied away from mocking Graham to Jacksonville for all the scheme-fit ideas that are talked about weekly. It could be that picking Graham is as simple as selecting the best playmaker available at No. 5 overall.

I’m out of things to say about Graham to Jacksonville — I’ve projected this match in all four of my mock drafts. New coach Liam Coen might want offensive playmakers for Trevor Lawrence, but the Jaguars have a chance to finally get a pocket-pushing disruptor for the middle of the defensive line. With great power and quickness, Graham can get into the backfield to create interior pressure on quarterbacks and drop running backs behind the line of scrimmage. He had 3.5 sacks and 14 run stops last season. With Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker collapsing the pocket on either side, Graham could have an immediate impact. And the Jaguars — who ranked 31st in yards allowed per play in 2024 (5.9) — could use all the help they can get.

NFL.com’s Gennaro Felice

Here is where things get a bit whacky. In this mock, Graham goes fourth overall to New England. With the best DT off the board, and Vegas looming at No. 6, the Jags take a swing and draft Boise State running back Jeanty.

Is drafting a first-round running back common practice nowadays? No. Is Jeanty a normal running back? Also no.

It’s worth mentioning that Jeanty, who rushed for over 2,600 yards and 29 touchdowns last year, is from Jacksonville. He would immediately catapult the backfield in his hometown into a real threat, with the potential to get some compensation for Travis Etienne Jr. down the road– who the Jags took in the first round just a few years ago.

Seemingly everyone — including our resident prospect rankers in these parts, Daniel Jeremiah, Eric Edholm and Lance Zierlein — has Jeanty as a top-five player in this class. So, what’s stopping him from being selected in the top five picks of this draft? Travis Etienne Jr.’s efficiency declined in 2023, and his production fell off a cliff in ’24. Tank Bigsby emerged as a rusher in Year 2, but he still seems ideally suited as a bruising RB2. Feels like a nice place to insert Jeanty, who just so happens to be a Jacksonville native. Trevor Lawrence has been supported by a top-20 ground game once, and in that 2022 season, he earned his lone Pro Bowl nod while the Jaguars took the AFC South and made noise in the playoffs. Seems relevant.

There are some that may say Jeanty’s last season is an anomaly and a factor of playing below average competition.

However, against No. 6 Penn State Jeanty had over 100 yards. Against No. 20 UNVL, he had over 200 yards and a score. Against No. 7 Oregon he had almost 200 on the ground and a trio of touchdowns.

With Graham gone, Jeanty could very well be the best available player. And if the Jags want to stick to that thought process, picking an running back might not be the worst call.

Some people “Ashton Jeanty didn’t look good against top competition. Penn State shut him down!”

Meanwhile… pic.twitter.com/mcJO4wLQuM

— Nick Whalen (@_NickWhalen) April 12, 2025

Pro Football Network’s Joe DeLeone

In this mock we have another offensive player in Penn State tight end Warren. As Michigan cornerback Will Johnson’s name has dropped off, Warren’s name has taken his place as the third or even second potential option for Jacksonville behind Graham.

Most everyone seems to think that Liam Coen could sway the front office choice in wanting a big playmaker in the first round and with Warren’s dynamic and multiple skillset, he could be the guy the Jags take a chance on early.

Liam Coen should want to hit the ground running in year one of his time in Jacksonville. The best way he can do this is by supporting Trevor Lawrence with another dynamic weapon in Warren. Warren has the natural athleticism to become a multi-use weapon for Coen, just like he was at Penn State.

— James Foster (@JamesFosterNFL) December 18, 2024

CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards

Ok, back to Graham for a second. You have heard all this before, but there might be something to the fact that people think this pick could be so simple.

The addition of Mason Graham would give them a higher pass-rush upside and more depth at a critical position. A year ago, new Jaguars general manager James Gladstone was part of a Rams front office that used a top-50 pick on defensive tackle Braden Fiske.

33rd Team’s Marcus Mosher

And with the fifth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Mason Graham…

The Jaguars are in a tough spot at No. 5 with the elite players off the board. Jalon Walker and Armand Membou could be in consideration, but Graham makes the most sense with their current defensive personnel. He’s got his weaknesses, but Graham would add another big body to their defensive line.

CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco

If you read the name for who this mock belongs to, you know something silly is about to happen. And it sure does.

Our very own Prisco predicts a trade-down by Jacksonville. In this mock the Jags trade back to 10th overall with the Chicago Bears. The Bears use the jump up to pick Jeanty. Similarly to last year, the Jags use their trade back to select a wide receiver, picking Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillian.

They move down and then add a receiver who can help upgrade their passing game. With Brian Thomas Jr. in as the top guy, McMillan would make for a nice 1-2 punch with his size and ability to make the 50-50 plays.

Last season, McMillian averaged almost 16 yards per catch with 1,319 total receiving yards. He had solid matchups against Travis Hunter and is far and away WR1 in this draft. He would be an instant impact player and a dynamic option to go alongside Brian Thomas Jr. The Jags also would get solid compensation in a trade-back, allowing the team to address other needs in this draft and beyond.

Yahoo Sports Staff

We end this week’s roundup the same way we started it: with Graham coming to the River City. Yahoo Sports has been pretty consistent with its Graham to Jacksonville mocks. This one is no different, as the Jags can add to what should be a solid defensive line.

Jacksonville has some solid players along the defensive line, but it’s still missing a true enforcer in the middle who can generate plays on their own. Graham, step on up. He played injured in 2024, but still showed off the high upside traits that had scouts praising his name coming into the season. Graham joining edge rushers Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker might give Jacksonville the complete pass rush unit it’s working for.

2025 NFL Draft player profile: Jalon Walker, LB, Georgia

Jacksonville Jaguars prospect Jalon Walker

Jalon Walker is one of the more polarizing players in the 2025 NFL Draft, but could he be a fit in Jacksonville? Let’s break down his game in this player profile.

We are rapidly approaching the 2025 NFL Draft as we are now just over a week away from the fun in Green Bay.

Draft season has been chock full of bold predictions and fun scenarios for teams across the league but the Jacksonville Jaguars have largely been predictable when it comes to mock drafts.

Pre-free agency it was LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell that seemed to be the obvious choice for the Jags. However, the signings of Patrick Mekari and Robert Hainsey have shifted things a bit as Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham has become nearly the consensus prediction across media for Jacksonville.

That is until the last week or so as another name has emerged as a relatively surprising, albeit talented, option for the Jags and that is Georgia linebacker, Jalon Walker.

Let’s get to know this new potential Jacksonville prospect by breaking down his game as we determine his projection and fit in this 2025 NFL Draft player profile.

Measurables

  • Height: 6’1”
  • Weight: 243
  • Arm: 32”
  • Hand: 10 1/4”

per NFL Scouting Combine

Career Statistics

  • Tackles: 89
  • Tackles for loss: 19
  • Sacks: 12.5

Strengths

  • Versatile chess piece that can rush off the edge and drop into coverage
  • Can push the pocket from interior and create pressure off the edge
  • Explosive athlete in space and when working downhill
  • Powerful player for his size
  • Will chase backs down when working outside
  • Can stack and shed while keeping disciplined eyes
  • Sifts through trash to find and attack ball carriers
  • Textbook tackler

Georgia LB Jalon Walker didn't have a sack in the box score, but he lived in the Kentucky backfield (8 pressures).

Downhill burst + flexible bend + power in his hands pic.twitter.com/MXtdhbPJZw

— Dane Brugler (@dpbrugler) September 17, 2024

Weaknesses

  • Too small to be a full-time edge, too raw to be a full-time linebacker
  • Doesn’t have elite bend or flexibility
  • Slow(ish) to key and read
  • Doesn’t have edge rusher arm length
  • Tends to drift out of his zone in coverage when plays are extended
  • Is a high ceiling/low floor player which is always risky

Projection and Fit

Jalon Walker’s projection at the next level is a tough one.

If you like him as mostly a pass rusher then you’re banking on the fact that he is an outlier when it comes to size off the edge. The only comparison that I can think of when it comes to a stand up edge at his size is Haason Reddick, and even then it took him failing off-ball for him to get a shot to prove himself as an every down pass rusher.

Jalon Walker flashes rushing off the edge pic.twitter.com/pN255lHSVg

— Billy M (@BillyM_91) April 13, 2025

If he’s not Reddick, then you hope he can provide versatility as a strongside backer that can move all around the defense for you, for which he has the ability. Walker has obvious chops as a pass rusher and run defender, but he can also play the role of a spy and is competent enough in coverage to assume he can develop enough there to be a three-down player.

It’s hard to know definitively what the defense is going to look like under Anthony Campanile but if that type of versatility is something he’s looking for, then Jalon Walker could absolutely be in play for the Jacksonville Jaguars with their fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Conclusion

Jalon Walker is one of the most polarizing players in this years draft class as there seem to be wild swings in opinions of how he projects to the next level. However, all it takes is one team to believe in his abilities and the Jacksonville Jaguars very well could be that team.

It’s feeling like we already have a pretty good idea about what is happening with the top four teams so in a sense, the 2025 NFL Draft starts with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Grade: 8.6

Big Cat Country NFL Draft Grading Scale

9.5 to 10 – Top-5 lock. Rare attributes both physically and mentally. Clearly the most talented player on the field in college. Game-changing/wrecking projection at the next level. Potential be top-10 at their position right away.

8.5 to 9.4 – Unquestioned first-round prospect. Elite physical and mental profile. Performed consistently at a high level, no matter the competition in college. Expectations to be an immediate impact player.

7.5 to 8.4 – Mixed opinions on first-round projection. Above average physical profile. Considered a great player at respective school but not a household name. Performs admirably against top competition. Potential to be an immediate starter at the next level. 1-2 round pick.

6.5 to 7.4 – Day 2 prospect. Good athlete but can’t match up with the league’s best. Productive collegiate career. Expectation to perform in a rotational role as a rookie. Potential to become a starter over time.

5.5 to 6.4 – Fringe late Day 2/early Day 3 prospect. Admirable athletic profile. More potential than finished product. Lacking necessary measurables at their position but have found ways to win without them. Rotational piece with a role on special teams as well.

4.5 to 5.4– Day 3 prospect. Either a low ceiling athletically or undersized for their position. Potential for red flag of some sort (exp. Injuries, lack of college production, off-field issues etc.). Still provides an element of intrigue when projecting to the next level. Predominately a special teams player.

3.5 to 4.4 – Bottom half of Day 3 prospect. Underwhelming collegiate career (or small school product). Has a singular trait that’s worth a late round swing of the bat. Chance to compete for a roster spot in training camp. Uphill battle to make final 53.

2 to 3.4 - Priority free agent signee. Traits worth exploring. Camp body.

1 to 1.9 – Clearly not of NFL quality. Lacks the necessary athletic, mental, and skill levels to make any contributions in the league.

What are your expectations for next week’s draft, Jaguars fans?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Jacksonville Jaguars fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

FanDuel Sportsbook recently released betting odds for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Due to their early selection, there aren’t odds on which position the Jaguars will select with their first-round pick. But you can bet on which specific player will be drafted at fifth overall.

Whether Jacksonville uses its original selection or trades back in the draft, who do you expect to be the fifth overall pick next Thursday?

Michigan DT Mason Graham is the betting favorite to be the fifth pick, as Graham-to-Jacksonville has been perhaps the most popular prospect-to-team fit during this draft cycle.

I was a bit surprised to see Georgia DE/LB Jalon Walker holding the second-highest odds, and much more surprised to see LSU OL Will Campbell holding just the fifth-highest odds.

Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty has picked up a ton of steam recently. He was mocked to the Jaguars at fifth overall by The Athletic’s Dane Brugler — “This draft is light at the top and Jeanty is the best player available” — and ESPN’s Peter Shrager told the Pat McAfee Show that Jeanty’s range “would start at 5 with Jacksonville.”

Are you buying the smoke on Jeanty/Walker? Or is it Graham/Campbell until it’s not?

A brief look at the players most recently drafted by the Jaguars in the spots of their ten 2025 draft picks

We are rapidly approaching the 2025 NFL Draft. In six days, the Jacksonville Jaguars will make their first of ten draft picks. Let’s take a look at the players most recently drafted by the team in those draft slots.

Round one, pick five: Cornerback Jalen Ramsey (2016)

NFL: 2016 NFL Draft
Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images

While the first-round pick from Florida State is remembered for his performance on and off the field in Jacksonville, Jalen Ramsey started in all 51 regular-season games he played as a Jaguar. Over 3280 defensive snap counts, he recorded 210 combined tackles and nine interceptions. During three playoff games, Ramsey had eight combined tackles and one interception. He was traded to the Rams during the 2019 season.

From the Big Cat Country archives: 2016 NFL Draft results: Jaguars land Jalen Ramsey

Round two, pick 36: Linebacker Myles Jack (2016)

Miami Dolphins v Jacksonville Jaguars

While we will always remember that he was not down, as a Jaguar, Myles Jack registered three interceptions, two forced fumbles, 6.5 sacks, and 513 combined tackles while on defense during 88 regular-season games. He started in all three playoff games before being released in March 2022.

From the Big Cat Country archives: 2016 NFL Draft results: Jaguars trade up to pick Myles Jack

Round three, pick 70: Linebacker Chad Muma (2022)

Indianapolis Colts v Jacksonville Jaguars

Over three seasons in Jacksonville, Chad Muma has a snap count of 690 on defense and 840 on special teams. He has started in seven of his 50 games and recorded 94 combined tackles and 1.5 sacks.

From the Big Cat Country archives: Jaguars select Chad Muma in the third round

Round three, pick 88: Running back Tank Bigsby (2023)

Indianapolis Colts v Jacksonville Jaguars

Like Muma, Tank Bigsby is currently on the Jaguars’ roster. Bigbsy made a huge leap during his second season. During the 2024 season, he amassed 820 rushing and receiving yards and seven touchdowns, versus the 138 yards and two touchdowns recorded during his rookie season.

From the Big Cat Country archives: The pick is in: Jaguars select Tank Bigsby 88th overall

Round four, pick 107: Wide receiver Mike Thomas (2009)

Tennessee Titans v Jacksonville Jaguars

Wide receiver Mike Thomas spent the majority of his NFL career in Jacksonville. Thomas started in 31 out of 52 games played. Over four seasons, he had 199 touches for 1978 receiving and rushing yards and six touchdowns. Thomas was traded to the Lions during the 2012 season.

From the Big Cat Country archives: Jaguars trade Mike Thomas to Lions, according to a report

Round four, pick 126: The 2025 draft will be the first time in franchise history that the Jaguars will have this pick.

Round five, pick 142: Linebacker Brandon Marshall (2012)

Jacksonville Jaguars v Tennessee Titans

Brandon Marshall’s one season with the Jaguars was a less-than-ideal start to his NFL career. In five games, Marshall had three tackles on special teams. He was waived on October 27th, signed three days later, then cut again on November 1st. After signing onto the practice squad on November 5th, Marshall was added to the active roster on December 18th before being cut from the team in August 2013.

From the Big Cat Country archives: 2012 NFL Draft: Jaguars Select Brandon Marshall

Round six, pick 182: Defensive tackle Emarlos Leroy (1999)

Jacksonville Jaguars v Pittsburgh Steelers

Emarlos Leroy spent two seasons with the Jaguars and registered one forced fumble and 21 tackles in 23 games. He was released in May 2001.

Round six, pick 194: Linebacker Pat Thomas (2005)

Tennessee Titans v Jacksonville Jaguars

During his time in Jacksonville, Pat Thomas played in 15 regular-season games with one start. After recording one forced fumble and 17 combined tackles, the third-year linebacker was waived by the team in October 2007.

Round seven, pick 221: Linebacker Jon Hesse (1997)

Jon Hesse was one of 18 players to be released by the Jaguars in August 1997. He was the only player from his draft class who was cut from the team.

Reacts Survey results: Mason Graham expected to be a Jaguar

2025 NFL Scouting Combine

The results are in!

This week, we asked Jacksonville Jaguars fans who they expect to be the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Exactly half of voters chose Mason Graham.

Here are the betting favorites according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

  • Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham (-130)
  • Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty (+270)
  • Georgia edge defender Jalon Walker (+600)
  • Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou (+650)
  • Penn State tight end Tyler Warren (+2400)
  • LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell (+2600)
  • Michigan cornerback Will Johnson (+3500)

Graham is the betting favorite — and he’s been pegged to Jacksonville in a whopping 52% of mock drafts according to Mock Draft Database — so it’s no surprise to see so many Jaguars fans expecting him to be the pick as well.

“We’ve got 10 picks in this year’s draft,” general manager James Gladstone said of the team’s defensive line following free agency. “We’re going to have to have some spots that are actually open for them to insert. So, if you add a veteran at this point, could be just standing in the way. We’re going to allow these rookies to get a chance to get out on the field and help us this coming fall.”

Top comments from Wednesday’s post:

JAGSFANZ
LT Membou or Campbell
RadThibodeaux
Hunter, Carter, Jeanty, in that order. I'll trust their judgement if they go Oline or Graham. Not a fan of Tet, Walker or Warren at #5.
Jaguardian
I wonder if Sanders is still there after the fourth pick, would Gladstone make a trade with New Orleans, in light of the situation with Carr. I'll hate the prospect of possibly not getting Graham, but dropping to nine and adding a second round pick…intrigues me.

Report: Jaguars OL Cole Van Lanen remaining in Jacksonville

Jacksonville Jaguars v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Jaguars are reportedly retaining a (restricted) 2024 free agent with Van Lanen back in the fold.

The 2025 Jacksonville Jaguars roster will have a returning face on the offensive line, as swing-tackle/guard Cole Van Lanen will officially be returning after reportedly signing his restricted free agent tender.

#Jaguars Cole Van Lanen signed his restricted free agent tender

— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) April 21, 2025

We previously noted that Van Lanen could potentially land back with the team, as Jacksonville previously placed a restricted free agent, original round tender on him before the start of the new league year. As a note, a restricted free agent is a player with an expiring contract who has three accrued seasons. While this player is free to negotiate with other teams, their prior team has right of first refusal to match any contract offered or draft pick compensation.

As such, the Jaguars retained the rights to match any free agency offers he would have received in open negotiations. Otherwise, the team could have decided to allow him to go and accept a sixth-round draft pick from the negotiating team. With Cole visiting the Seattle Seahawks this offseason, without signing a deal he reportedly signed his tender on Monday. He will now be locked in for the 2025 season on a one-year deal for the RFA predetermined rate of $3.26 million, per OverTheCap.com. The Jaguars are still the only team to re-sign none of their 2024 unrestricted free agents, however.

In 2024, Van Lanen made three starts while participating in six matchups on offense as a swing tackle. Additionally, His versatility to play both tackle spots or also kick inside to guard should allow the team additional offensive line depth entering the new regime under Liam Coen. In 68 “true-pass sets” over his 252 offensive snaps in 2024 (at both right and left tackle), Van Lanen gave up zero sacks.

The 26-year-old Van Lanen has been with Jacksonville for three years after being originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2021. He was traded to the Jaguars in 2022 for a seventh-round pick.

Jaguars Reacts Survey: Which offensive prospect would you want at No. 5?

If the Jaguars don’t pick Mason Graham, who do you want at fifth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Jacksonville Jaguars fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

Jaguars fans — if defensive players are off the table, who would you want with the No. 5 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Recent rumors suggest Jacksonville won’t go in the direction that so many have predicted for so long.

Mason Graham, this year’s title-holder for most-mocked player to the Jaguars, was once a heavy sportsbook favorite to be the fifth overall pick. Half of you expected that route in last week’s survey. Now Graham has plus odds, partly thanks to Schefty.

“Many mock drafts have pegged the Jaguars to select Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham at No. 5 overall tackle,” Adam Schefter wrote for ESPN on Monday. “As the venerable Lee Corso says, however — not so fast, my friends. New GM James Gladstone — who has 10 picks to work with, including four in the top 90 — might not be that predictable. As one league executive said recently: ‘Jacksonville is a wild card — watch.’”

Schefter went on to mention Tet McMillan as an option, and further evidence is pouring in saying the Jaguars could eye an offensive prospect on Thursday night.

Banger quote: "The Jaguars are looking for TDs." That could mean Ashton Jeanty, Tetairoa McMillan, Tyler Warren, Colston Loveland. I'm guessing a slight trade down is the preference, just like everyone after 3 is saying. https://t.co/e9RhjZ9CFp

— Hayden Winks (@HaydenWinks) April 21, 2025

The Jags potentially going offense with Liam Cohen as new HC after months of Graham pegged at 5 had me wondering if teams that hire an OC/off coach as a new HC end up favoring that side of the ball in round one. Only went back to 2014 but it absolutely does seem to be the case,… pic.twitter.com/P8Wxw6ykFn

— Clevta (@Clevta) April 22, 2025

TBH, who I thought #Jaguars should pick a couple weeks ago and still think would be right pick at No. 5 is now different from whom I think they will take. U can probably guess what I mean.

Jaguars 2025 NFL Draft: Dillon’s final mock

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: NOV 25 Arizona at Arizona State

Photo by Zac BonDurant/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images

The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24. Here’s a seven-round projection for the Jacksonville Jaguars from Dillon.

Finalize your big boards and empty out those bold takes because it is finally NFL Draft week!

We have endured months of prospect analysis and projected team fits for players ranging from presumed first-round picks to players who may not even hear their name called in Green Bay, but now it’s finally time to get down to business.

The top four overall selections all seem pretty predictable at this stage, which has put a lot of attention on the Jacksonville Jaguars to start the week.

@McShay13

Does the #NFLDraft really start with the @Jaguars at No. 5?#NFL #DUUUVAL pic.twitter.com/OlZklayuPb

— Rich Eisen Show (@RichEisenShow) April 21, 2025

Will they take Ashton Jeanty? Has their reported interest in Jeanty all been a ploy to drive up the price for a potential trade back? We will find out in short order, but in the meantime, enjoy this final seven-round Jaguars mock draft as we await what is sure to be a thrilling few days of action for Duval faithful.

Round 1, Pick 10: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Trade: Jaguars send picks 5 and 70 to Bears for picks 10, 39, and 72

There is a lot of smoke surrounding Jacksonville as a trade-down candidate. With the allure of Jeanty being the bait for a potential partner, a team looking to add the superstar running back would almost certainly need to jump the Las Vegas Raiders at sixth overall to do so.

The team that stands out as an option to move into this spot is the Chicago Bears, who have made no secret of their interest in Jeanty this draft season.

In this scenario, Chicago traded picks 10, 39, and 72 to the Jags for picks 5 and 7,0 which may even be low-balling what the Jags could potentially get.

So with their new draft slot at 10th overall, the Jaguars get great value on a guy they may even be comfortable taking at their original spot in Tetairoa McMillan out of Arizona.

The All-American receiver would perfectly complement Brian Thomas Jr. in Liam Coen’s offense. His size stands out as an obvious plus, but how he moves at that size is what stands out. Pair that with his reliability at the catch point and overall savvy approach to the game, and he has the potential to make a huge impact for the passing game in year one.

Round 1, Pick 24: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

Trade: Jaguars trade picks 36, 88, and 194 to Vikings for pick 24

Another trade!

After adding another second-rounder in the deal with the Bears, the Jaguars would feel much more comfortable making an aggressive deal to get back into the first round on Thursday night, which is exactly what I have happening here.

With the Minnesota Vikings having just four total picks in this year’s draft, they seem to be the most obvious candidate as a team that could be looking to move down. Here, the Jags send picks 36, 88, and 194 to the Vikings so that they could take Kenneth Grant.

Although not the Michigan defensive tackle many have predicted to this point, Grant would make a ton of sense for the Jags, who could use an upgrade at nose tackle. DaVon Hamilton has proven he’s not a long-term answer at that spot.

#Michigan iDL Kenneth Grant vs. Ohio St.

If you’re betting on his potential, this is the tape you turn on. Disruptive strength at the POA. pic.twitter.com/LCk4pCEKcq

— Jordan Reid (@Jordan_Reid) December 2, 2024

Grant has similar size to Hamilton but pairs that with incredible athleticism for that size. He’s a nimble mover and has shown some real pass-rushing chops to go along with developing ability as a run stopper. He and Maason Smith would make for a freakish interior of the future in Jacksonville.

Round 2, Pick 39 (via Bears): Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon

With the pick gained from their McMillan trade, the Jaguars add competition to their offensive tackle position with the selection of Josh Conerly Jr. out of Oregon.

"I don't think anybody is guaranteed a starting spot (on the offensive line)."

Jaguars' Senior Writer @JohnOehser anticipates a real competition for playing time on the O-Line this summer.#Jaguars | #DUUUVAL @md_1010xl @1010xlfattony pic.twitter.com/CokENViX5E

— 1010 XL / 92.5 FM (@1010XL) April 7, 2025

Walker Little did sign a three-year extension with the team back in December, but that was before the coaching and front office changes. That means there are no allegiances to Little or his new deal, and his play hasn’t been consistent enough to feel comfortable with the position going forward.

Conerly is a fantastic pass blocker with the tape of someone who should go much higher, but in a deep tackle class, he seems to be the one that could be in play for Jacksonville in this range.

He would great value at a premium position for a Jags team that needs depth and talent on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

Round 3, Pick 72 (via Bears): Josaiah Stewart, EDGE, Michigan

James Gladstone was with the Los Angeles Rams last season when they reunited college teammates Jared Verse and Braden Fiske, which proved to be fruitful as they showed incredible chemistry together.

Jacksonville’s rookie general manager could look to make similar magic by pairing Kenneth Grant with edge defender Josaiah Stewart.

Stewart plays with a ton of physicality and was pretty productive at Michigan, as he racked up 14 sacks and 22 tackles for loss since 2023. If he were an inch taller and longer through the arms, he’d probably go much higher than this.

I’m perfectly fine with betting on an extreme size outlier if they take on blocks/set the edge like Josaiah Stewart. Superhuman pic.twitter.com/WyIHSYHrGE

— James Foster (@NoFlagsFilm) April 14, 2025

Round 4, Pick 107: Dylan Sampson, RB, Tennessee

There have been plenty of rumors surrounding the potential of the Jaguars selecting Jeanty at fifth overall, but we obviously chose a different route with this seven-round mock.

The good news is that this draft is absolutely loaded with talent at the running back position, as there may be a future starter or five available late on Day 2.

One name that could be in play for Jacksonville if they look to address the position in this range is Tennessee tailback Dylan Sampson.

Seemingly the forgotten man amongst the many talented runners in this class, Sampson was the SEC Offensive Player of the Year this past season after rushing for nearly 1,500 yards and scoring 22 touchdowns.

Dylan Sampson is a touchdown machine.

He put up 22 TDs on 5.8 yards per carry in 2024, forcing 83 missed tackles with 929 yards after contact.

Sampson is extremely strong at the goalline despite only being listed at 5’11, 201lbs. Adding more strength will help clean up fumbles. pic.twitter.com/ILSaw4BuNW

— NFL Draft Files (@NFL_DF) February 1, 2025

He’s been pigeonholeed as a zone-specific back, but he has the skill to be pretty scheme-versatile and would be a really nice addition to the running back room in Jacksonville.

Round 4, Pick 126: Jonas Sanker, S, Virginia

The safety position for the Jaguars is pretty underwhelming on paper. It’s essentially the same group that struggled mightily last season, except they replaced 25-year-old Andre Cisco with 31-year-old Eric Murray in free agency.

Adding a young talent at the position is a must, and Virginia heat-seaker Jonas Sanker would be a great value with the 126th overall pick.

Former Virginia safety Jonas Sanker is on a visit to the #Commanders today before visiting the #Panthers on Wednesday and the #Falcons and #Lions next week. A busy month for one of the draft’s cleaner prospects.pic.twitter.com/8gfwyQ8z9O

— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) April 8, 2025

Sanker is a rangy, instinctive player with plus athleticism and a ton of energy. His exuberance and upside make a ton of sense at this spot.

Round 5, Pick 142: Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame

The Jaguars released Evan Engram this offseason and are seemingly content with rolling with Brenton Strange as TE1, which makes sense after an impressive season in 2024.

However, the depth behind him is pretty thin, as Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long have long been more TE3 types than TE2s.

To remedy that thin group, it makes sense to add a player like Mitchell Evans out of Notre Dame on Day 3. He’s got great size, strong hands, and doesn’t mind mixing it up in the run game, which is a prerequisite when projecting to Coen’s offense.

This is a nice fit for what is expected of this offense in 2025.

Round 6, Pick 182: Bilhal Kone, CB, Western Michigan

The Jaguars have had a confusing offseason when it comes to their corner position, but despite that, all indicators are that the position will not be a priority in the earlier rounds of the 2025 draft.

Here they wait until Round 6, where they land an intriguing small-school depth piece in Bilhal Kone from Western Michigan.

He’s got boundary size and athleticism, but is a work-in-progress when it comes to technique and playmaking. Kone is the perfect draft-and-develop guy to add to the secondary at this stage.

Round 7, Pick 221: Collin Oliver, LB/EDGE, Oklahoma State

Rounding things off in this seven-round Jacksonville mock draft is Oklahoma State’s Collin Oliver.

A really interesting player, Oliver is an off-ball linebacker convert who moved to an edge-rushing role for his senior year but missed most of the season with a foot injury.

Despite that, plenty of flashes on tape show that he could be a worthy dart throw at this stage as a designated pass rusher/spy type of player for this Jacksonville defense.

Collin Oliver had 2 Tackles for Loss and a sack, and several more hurries. His presence is always felt at all times in the game, but, IMO, it was felt the most when OSU opened up a lead and the Pokes knew SDSU had to drop back and pass.

When that happened they had no one that… pic.twitter.com/GOaucwwUWi
