No, you don't understand. He is probably going to be the biggest name ever to perform at the events center in my city. Usually to see big names I have to go to Des Moines or Omaha.
Last year Santana and Steve Winwood came to play in my city for a thing called Saturday in the Park (huge tradition in my city where a bunch of bands come play) and that was pretty cool, but Elton John is a whole different thing. I don't actually listen to Santana, but I listen to John weekly.
This year Cee-Lo Green (whom I strongly dislike) and some people I've never heard of are gonna play at Saturday in the Park (I probably won't attend), so this is probably my last chance to see someone big this year.
Antarctica rarely gets celebs... It must suck down there.

Elton John is awesome! I saw him live in concert two Autumns ago. Needless to say it was a blast. It was my first concert, and I was able to sing along to most of the songs. :b

Elton John is an English singer-songwriter who released over 30 albums in the 70s and 80s(and actually he released an album he did with Leon Russel last year). His song "Candle in the Wind 1997" sold over 33 million copies and is the best selling single in Billboard history.
Grand opening was pushed back once again, we'll just say it's TBA for now. We are still waiting on the completion of some custom development that has been in the works.
