Just a year ago, it seemed like Josh Green might become a vital part of the Charlotte Hornets‘ roster.
Now, he may be leaving for a different team.
According to Evan Sidery, the Hornets are “open” to trading Green, who they received from the Dallas Mavericks last summer.
“Green had a down year, but the 24-year-old has strong bounce back potential on a contending team,” Sidery wrote. The Hornets are open to trading Josh Green, who they acquired last summer from the Mavericks.

It is true that Green had a down year, but just barely.
He averaged 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists on 42.8 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from the three-point line.
The season before, he produced 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on 47.9 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc.
The problem for Green is that the Hornets are growing their depth with young talent, such as Brandon Miller and newcomer Kon Knueppel.
They simply might not have the space, or the money, for Green.
The good news is that he could still be very attractive for a number of teams, including some that want a mix of up-and-coming stars and veteran players.
He is owed $13.7 million in the new season and then $14.7 million after that.
Is that contract enticing enough for a competing team?
It was recently reported that Green underwent surgery for his shoulder problems, and he currently doesn’t have a timetable for returning.
Will that impact how aggressive other teams are about pursuing him?
The Hornets are ready to do business and ship Green away, but which team will leap at the chance to get him?
