Can a player, such as Devin Hester, make the Hall of Fame, just off of his special teams play. Devin Hester has made such an impact for the Bears and has definitely been explosive and a playmaker. But is just special teams enough to make the Hall of Fame?

Im looking it up rite now.. holds the nfl record with 8 kickoff returns and has 2 punt returns. Hester has had 18 total, including 1 missed field goal return.
 
Plus the one in the Super Bowl. Can't forget that one.
I went to a game earlier this year, and saw Hester return a kickoff. It was awesome.
 
Hester runs the wildcat sometimes, but not often. He's not a great receiver, but he does have some nice plays. Most of his action comes from Special Teams.
 
I'm going with yes just because of his records. If he wasn't 1st in almost every return category, it would be a tough decision.

I don't think he'll make the HoF, just it doesn't seem like he's done enough returning to get him in on that alone. Sure, he's got a lot of records, but I think he needs to bolster them to the point that they will probably never be broken in order to get into the Hall. Just my opinion.
 
Yeah and Hester is still getting returns. He's still only like 28 years old, so he's got a lot of time to keep returning in front of him.
