New Blockbuster Three-Team Trade Idea Sends LaMelo Ball to Miami, Hornets Land Ware and Draft Picks

While there are still some notable restricted free agents out there, the NBA free agency period has settled down for now, and the landscape for the NBA is taking shape for next season. After trading for Kristaps Porzingis and drafting Asa Newell, Atlanta reached a pair of huge free agent signings on the first day of the free agency period. The Hawks signed Wolves guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker to a four-year, $62 million deal in a sign and trade that sent a 2027 2nd-round pick (via CLE) to the Wolves. Then, the Hawks signed free agent guard Luke Kennard to a one-year, $11 million deal.

Ira Winderman: For Heat, NBA’s new CBA means complicated business ahead

MIAMI — We’re not sure if Pat Riley still cruises Biscayne Boulevard top down in one of his classic convertibles. But a case could be made for this being a test drive of an offseason for the Miami Heat. While the current NBA collective-bargaining agreement went into effect on July 1, 2023, only now are the long-term ramifications of the terms fully coming into play. It is why the Boston ...

Norman Powell Hints Joining Miami Heat Was Years In The Making

Earlier this offseason, the Miami Heat surprised their fans and the rest of the NBA world after completing a trade for Norman Powell. The 10-year veteran spoke about his early experience with the organization and new teammates at practice for the Jamaican national basketball team, currently getting ready for FIBA World Cup Pre-Qualifiers, which begin on Aug. 8. You know, I've had a few texts here and there with a few teammates, nothing too crazy, but I'm definitely looking and excited to actually get settled in Miami.

1 final move Miami Heat must make to complete 2025 NBA offseason

The Miami Heat are rare in the sense that they do not want to bottom out and rebuild from the ground up. All the Heat had to trade to acquire a 20-plus per game scorer in Powell were Kyle Anderson, Kevin Love, and a second-round pick — making it a no-brainer. The Heat have shown in the past that remaining semi-competitive and waiting to strike at the right time could work.

Former Cavaliers Star Could Be On the Move Again

It looks like former Cleveland Cavaliers big man Kevin Love could be on the move once again after being traded less than a month ago. According to a new report from NBA insider Marc Stein, Love is seemingly looking for "potential pathways" to leave the Utah Jazz after his three-team trade from the Miami Heat earlier this offseason. "We've already seen Bradley Beal (Clippers), Lillard (Trail Blazers), Ayton (Lakers), Smart (Lakers) and Jordan Clarkson (Knicks) find new teams after securing buyouts and now five-time NBA All-Star Kevin Love is actively exploring potential pathways out of Utah after he was dealt by Miami to the Jazz as part of the three-team Norman Powell trade."

Heat Star Shares Emotions After Duncan Robinson's Departure

Duncan Robinson is going to suit up for the Detroit Pistons next year. Throughout the 2024-2025 NBA season, Robinson appeared in 74 games, averaging 11 points, two rebounds, and three assists. After playing his entire career in Miami, Robinson will be missed. Recently, his now-former All-Star teammate, Bam Adebayo, spoke about his team moving forward without the sharpshooter in the mix.

OPINION: Miami Heat Should Add Six-Time All-Star By Trading $25 Million Guard

The Miami Heat are having a successful offseason, bringing in guards Norman Powell and incoming rookie Kasparas Jakucionis. Improving the guard rotation was a priority for Pat Riley and company heading into the offseason. The team lost forwards Duncan Robinson, Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson while adding Simone Fontecchio, a forward who has shown slight promise in the NBA throughout his short career.

1 move Miami Heat should've made in 2025 NBA offseason

There have been many instances in the long history of the NBA that can be considered where-were-you-when-it-happened moments: Julius Erving's reverse layup against the Los Angeles Lakers, Michael Jordan's series-clinching shot versus the Utah Jazz in the 1998 NBA Finals, Kobe Bryant's 81-point masterpiece against the Toronto Raptors, and the Miami Heat's release of their “Harlem Shake” video. Seriously, arguably the biggest watershed event for the Heat happened in the offseason in 2010 when LeBron James infamously announced that he will bring his talents to South Beach.

ESPN Analyst Reportedly “Bored” With Miami Heat Despite Successful Offseason

After two consecutive postseason failures, the Miami Heat have to outperform expectations again to return to their contender status. Without a true superstar to replace Jimmy Butler, their path back to the Conference Finals remains in doubt. On the All NBA Podcast, Tim Legler broke down how the acquisition of Norman Powell may not be enough to raise the Heat's win total from last year. Powell should drastically help their offensive struggles because Tyler Herro was the only player the Heat could rely on to generate offense on his own consistently.

Miami Heat May Part Ways With Former Pistons Shooter

Last month, the Detroit Pistons wrapped up the short-lived Simone Fontecchio experience. Now, the Miami Heat have to decide whether they want to move forward with the Italian sharpshooter or not. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Ira Winderman, Fontecchio is a potential waive-and-stretch candidate. Miami has a few weeks to decide whether they are going to wrap up its time with Fontecchio by cutting ties with the veteran forward and stretching out his salary over the next three seasons to help the team get under the luxury tax line.

Disproving The Myth That Erik Spoelstra Won't Play Rookies

Erik Spoelstra is a Pat Riley disciple with a 21st century spin. Not particularly -- so it's not necessarily a lock that Kasparas Jakucionis, whom the Miami Heat selected after he slipped to 20th overall, will sit and watch the entire season. Jakucionis is younger than the average rookie, even the modern age, and he struggled some in summer league, with only breakout game.

Kevin Durant Singles Out Miami Heat Player as Exceptional Defender

Kevin Durant isn't one to mince words, nor award empty compliments, whether it's on social media or simply talking about basketball. Recently, the former Thunder and Warriors and Nets and Suns and now-Rockets forward -- as well as forever-Heat trade target -- spoke on LeBron James' podcast Minding the Game about the need for size in the backcourt in the modern NBA. "I've been thinking, I don't know if the 6-2 and under guard is at a premium (any) more as a starter," Durant told James and Steve Nash. James then signaled to Nash that they had just spoken of this, to which Nash agreed.
