4x NBA All-Star Named Potential Ja Morant Replacement

The Memphis Grizzlies are in a tough spot heading into the offseason after suffering a brutal first-round sweep in this year's playoffs. The Grizzlies were heavily outmatched against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are now in the NBA Finals, which poses many questions. Memphis hasn't been able to capture the same regular-season and playoff success that it had in 2022 and 2023. After securing back-to-back No. 2 seeds in those years, the team has regressed significantly, failing to improve with Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. at the helm.

NBA Fans React to Ja Morant's Latest Career Decision

For the past few years, Ja Morant has had a very tumultuous two seasons. From suspensions to major injuries, Morant has only played 59 out of 164 games. Now that the Grizzlies were unexpectedly swept in the first round by the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team may have some big changes underway. While it's not a roster change, the first has begun with Ja Morant.

Knicks Should Hire Former Grizzlies HC

The New York Knicks have a few potential candidates to interview for their head coach position. Among those is former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins, who was dismissed in March after six years with the team. The Athletic insider Sam Amick named Jenkins as a candidate to replace Tom Thibodeau as head coach. "As for Jenkins, he became the Grizzlies' all-time leader in wins during his six seasons, only to get fired with just a few weeks left in this regular season and be replaced by assistant coach Tuomas Iisalo," Amick wrote.

Blockbuster Trade Curtails Wizards Rumors

Jordan Poole has caught a fair amount of flack since moving to Washington and adapting to a starring role with the Wizards, but he's done a lot to rebuild his reputation from a flashy guard lacking in substance into one of the better point guards waiting for his next winning opportunity. The Memphis Grizzlies dealt Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic for a bevy of assets on Sunday morning, beefing up the Magic's odds of contending in the vacant Eastern Conference and granting the Grizzlies resources to tweak around their roster.

Former NBA Lottery Pick Signs With Surprise Team

The 2019 NBA Draft, at the time, was noted as one of the best in recent memory. The top five picks consisted of Zion Williamson, Ja Morant, RJ Barrett, De'Andre Hunter, and Darius Garland, all guys who have made a good living in the league. The 2019 lottery was filled with productive guys, as Coby White, Rui Hachimura, Cam Johnson, PJ Washington, and Tyler Herro all rounded out a solid group of top 13 picks, but there were a few question marks in the gaps.

Desmond Bane Breaks Silence Amid Criticism Of Memphis

The Memphis Grizzlies have been a topic of conversation in basketball media lately for numerous reasons. The most obvious is the team recently trading star shooting guard Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic, which surprised many. Another reason why the city, specifically, is being talked about is because of comments recently made by Stephen A. Smith of ESPN. On the show, First Take, Smith made comments on how unsafe the city of Memphis is, which garnered reactions from Grizzlies fans and players, including Ja Morant.

Memphis Grizzlies Projected to Land Colorado State Standout in NBA Draft

Despite some polarization as a 23-year-old prospect in the 2025 NBA Draft, former Colorado State Ram Nique Clifford should hear his name in the first round Wednesday night. Bleacher Report's most recent mock draft ahead of the event paired the two-way wing with the Memphis Grizzlies with the No. 16 overall pick. Because of his production over five years of basketball in the Centennial State for both Buffaloes and the Rams, Clifford has been tabbed as one of the class's most pro-ready players, as someone who can step in and begin contributing immediately despite maybe not having the highest ceiling potential-wise. In two seasons at Colorado State, Clifford averaged 15.5 points per game on 50.6% shooting from the floor and 36.4% from deep range.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant creates buzz with move before NBA free agency

The NBA and Memphis Grizzlies fans desperately want Ja Morant to completely remove himself from his gun-related incidents in 2023 and move forward incident-free. Although the star point guard has not received any suspensions since or been seen brandishing a firearm, he still gave the league offices a headache with his finger-gun celebrations in April. Morant changed the profile photo on his Instagram and X/Twitter accounts to an image of Keanu Reeves' beloved “John Wick” character, via GrizzMuse, an apparent reference to the “Ja Wick” moniker that people have referred to him as on social media. For those unfamiliar with the film franchise that reinvigorated Reeves' acting career, it centers around a legendary and retired hit man who comes back into focus after seeking revenge on a group of mobsters.

Grizzlies' Santi Aldama gets $14.1 million contract update after Desmond Bane trade

The Memphis Grizzlies have already shaken up their roster this offseason by trading away Desmond Bane.
