ESPN host fires bizarre stray at Toronto Raptors and their fans

The Toronto Raptors found themselves in the middle of an odd discussion on a recent ESPN show put out this week. On Monday's episode of The Hoop Collective podcast hosted by Brian Windhorst, Tim Bontemps, and Tim MacMahon, the trio was discussing Tony Allen's jersey retirement over the weekend with the Memphis Grizzlies. What Scotty Pippen Jr. must do to avoid being Grizzlies' playoff odd man out

The Memphis Grizzlies are still waiting for an X-factor to emerge from a rotating cast of bench options while Santi Aldama heals up. Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane have all spent significant time on the shelf recently as well, putting even more pressure on the second unit. However, these absences have given Scotty Pippen Jr. opportunities to prove the underfire ballhandler should not be the odd man out when the NBA Playoffs begin. The results are mixed at best this season. Pippen's scrappy playmaking initially solidified him as Morant's backup, but then a shooting slump hit. A rumored Memphis trade deadline pursuit of Lonzo Ball was not exactly a confidence boost, yet the 24-year-old

Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke likely out for rest of regular season with injured knee

The Memphis Grizzlies likely will be without forward Brandon Clarke for at least the rest of the regular season because of a sprained right knee. The Grizzlies announced an update Saturday on Clarke, who hurt his knee in Wednesday night's loss at Portland. The team said Clarke has a high-grade PCL sprain suffered when he fell to the floor in the first quarter of that loss. Memphis said a more specific timeline will be provided once a treatment plan is set. The Grizzlies have lost three straight and are 5-5 over their last 10 to slip from No. 2 in the Western Conference to fifth, a game back of Denver.

Ex-Grizzlies Player Shares Honest LaMelo Ball Statement

Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball had taken a massive jump at the start of this season, averaging nearly 30 points before slowing back down to averaging 25.4 points. For as good as LaMelo has become offensively, there's one major flaw to his offensive game - his free throw shooting. In fact, he has the second-most games in the NBA with 25+ points and zero free-throw attempts. During an episode of FanDuelTV's Run It Back show, former Memphis Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons shared his honest assessment of Ball's offense.
