I have created this thread in order to see member's opinions on the footballer's pay that they receive.

I for one believe that their pay is ridiculously high and considering that all they risk is breaking a few bones or possibly worse in a few rare and unlikely cases. It really annoys me when there are in fact people risking their own lives in order to protect and serve their nation and they could end up being an amputee or possibly die'ing in quite a few common cases. What are your thoughts on their pay?

I do not really think that footballers risk their own lives while they are playing. I feel that it is impossible to break your bones if you play soccer. Soccer is not a dangerous sport, right? Imagine how much money people in Formula 1 get. LOL.
Their pay depends on their capabilities, on their popularities and of course on their strategy. For example, Messi receives a huge amount of money per month. But Samaras ( a Greek player ) has a small income. However, their pay is totally satisfying. For everyone who plays in a professional team.

There's actually quite a number players that has broken their leg while playing soccer. Aaron Ramsey and Eduardo comes to mind with quite a horrific injury.

Okay, listen. The amount of money they get is ridiculous. I will be very concise and punctuate with this one. I am from Serbia and it is not so very good place to be right now. However if you are a football players here you are promised to have enough to live like a gentleman. Here's the deal. The president's or prime minister's pay in my country is around 1000 Euros each, and that is in one month. In comparison to a normal wage this is great. Normal monthly wage here is 200 Euros. For example, a professor at any university has 350 Euros. A football player playing for Partizan or Red Star or any other club has for example 12000 Euros monthly. This is 12 of the president's monthly checks and they are sponsored by the country, they are not private clubs.
