Favorite MLB player(s) of all time?

Whether he played for your team or not, who would you say is your favorite baseball player of all time?

These players were definitely before my time, but I've always admired players like Lou Gehrig and Pete Rose. Gehrig for his famous farewell speech at Yankee Stadium, and Rose for his reputation that centered all around his nickname: Charlie Hustle.

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but there was a period in the 90s where I tried to get into it and I really took to players like Randy Johnson, Ken Griffey Jr and Hideo Nomo

No MLB team around here, but I always rooted for Todd Helton, as the Rockies aren't too far away.
