This question may not apply to most of us, but have you or someone you know ever run a marathon?

I haven't myself, but my neighbor and my P.E teacher back in 7th grade both did a few, I think it takes a lot of practice and dedication to do, which I lack at :p

I have, but I ended up walking about halfway through the race. My friend and I just decided to chit-chat until the end of the marathon. I'm not really fat, but I'm really unfit when it comes to running or jogging for long distance. Actually it applies to most sports that I play sometimes.

I have run half marathons officially and unofficially I ran over 42 kilometres several times. It's not a big deal for me even when I am not in some crazy form like I used to be. Summer is coming and I will get back to that. I guess my genes are good for this. My stamina was excellent since I was a toddler. Or so I was told. I remember when I was a kid that in the evening everybody will go home tired and I was like, "Why, how, what ... Where are you going." :( This is a reminder for me actually that I have a half marathon to attend in few days. I completely forgot about it.

If running around a big track that's in a forest yeah, when I was in elementary school, the P.E. Teacher made us all do laps around this huge forest. :P

I have never run a marathon if I am honest. I did track and field when I was at school and I did races when I was at school but that was never anything close to a marathon. My step sister who I do not talk to too often, she runs marathons for charity and she really enjoys them but she does say that it takes a lot of training which I can imagine. I personally would not feel that I was fit enough right now to run any kind of marathon with all the training required due to health problems such as B12 deficiency and a hiatus hernia.

I am not really much of a runner, so I have not run a marathon. However, I know several people who have. I will say that when I jogged I was in the best shape of my life. I doubt I could really train for anything as long as a marathon though. We do have a lot of 5K runs around here for charity that would be something of interest to me. I always thought it was a great idea to run for a good cause!

I did! It was during my second year in teaching. We had a 3K, 5K, and 10K marathon. We registered for the 3K only because I believe my body cannot sustain the higher ones. I find it fun as you run together with your friends and students. We were even challenging ourselves to be one of the Top 10 to finish the marathon. Sad to say, I landed in the 11th place. It's really fun to run a marathon.

Yes. I used to participate in the Olympics when I was in highschool. We would run and compete in stadiums only to be rewarded with a shirt printed "Olympics". But we also used to run in the city when supporting health causes like treating people with heart problems.
