Never been to one myself, and honestly I'm not sure I'd want to. Don't get me wrong, the atmosphere looks incredible on TV and I can see the appeal of being part of that massive crowd for such a huge event. But I'm more of a watch-from-the-couch type of person. There's something to be said for being able to actually see the plays clearly, have access to instant replays, and not deal with the chaos of getting in and out of a stadium with 70,000+ people.
Lisa, that's an awesome story though. Getting a surprise call like that and then watching your team win? That's the kind of memory you don't forget. And the Rolling Stones at halftime - pretty solid era for Super Bowl performances.
@Larius - The left shark from Katy Perry's show has become legendary at this point, haha. That halftime show was genuinely entertaining. Some years they really nail it, other years... not so much.
The ticket prices are just absurd now. Face value alone can run you several thousand dollars, and that's before you factor in travel, hotels in a city where every room is marked up 300%, food, parking... You're looking at potentially a five-figure weekend for one game. I'd rather put that money toward season tickets and catch a dozen games, personally.
Anyone know what the cheapest Super Bowl tickets have gone for recently? I'm curious if there's ever a "deal" to be found or if it's always astronomical.
